Good morning, everyone! Yes, I'm still up, trying to get work done before heading to bed and relax!

I’ve had a very busy week last and weekend so I didn’t post, just read everyone’s posts instead. I've gotten the artwork completed for the women’s magazine that I’m working with…in fact, I couldn’t decide which of three versions that I felt was the best so I sent in all three....let the magazine owner decide which she likes best. The poster artwork for my Women’s Health & Wellness Fair is almost completed as well. It took me hours to construct a column about  four inches wide…consisted of a listing of words (in alternating shades of light and dark greys) that all pertain to the show…..example: energy healing nutritional counselling hypnosis meditation lifepath therapeutic touch REIKI reflexology pranic healing Bowen therapy raindrop therapy The Law of Attraction metaphysical connection spirituality  accupuncture  chiropractic medicine YOGA wellness health peace weight control awareness LIFE psychic connection feng shui  emotional stability  accupressure  SKIN CARE  growth exercise chakra balancing channeling compassion natural energy vibrational growth alternative modalities deep trance psychic soul FITNESS TRAINING labyrinths SPIRIT Mind JOY body vibration balance gratitude LOVE crafts chakra self-honesty naturopathic medicine inner child essential oils aromatherapy law of attraction And over this, superimposed, is a black silhouette of a woman stretching out to the sky and under her silhouette are the words Women’sHEALTH   & W ELLNESS

TRADE FAIR

Of course, the spacing is all flush right and left so everything fits neatly.  mAYBE i MIGHT CHANGE THE FONT OF THE NAME OF THE EVENT ...HMM...JUST PONDERING AS i GO ALONG *S* I hope that my description makes sense to you. Maybe when it is completed, I can do a scan and post in online somehow for you to see. I have now also acquired a wonderful young singer to entertain the masses as they visit the event. And I’m also working on getting a local winery to provide a wine-tasting table as well. I took Mother to the hospital on Friday for a barium swallow test to see why she is always choking and the test confirmed that Mom is aspirating liquids into her lungs. And an ultra sound has shown a mass in her pelvic area.  The doctor had ordered a vaginal probe and I refused to okay that.  Mass or not, surgery is out of the question. Mom is 91 and a half and far too frail to survive surgery and I will not allow them to put her thru a vaginal procedure…she is far too old and delicate for that now.   Today, I told the doctor to keep her happy and comfortable and pain free…..that’s all we can do…..he even agreed with me (as did the staff at Bella where Mom lives now) that she really shouldn’t have to go thru all that at her age when nothing can be done anyways. I had been ready for a real fight. Been working on connecting people for a brand new non-medical intervention for stopping smoking!  But it’s frustrating how many people TALK the talk bit won’t WALK the walk.  If they only could chart how much money they just set on fire and burn while pumping deadly chemicals into their body!  But I suppose that even that won’t work with an addiction. On Sunday, I’m hosting a MICHE BAG party…these are basic bags and you change it’s look by snapping on “shells” that are magnetically attached to the basic bag…no more dumping out your purse to change to a new one….just use the same basic purse liner and change the outsides- you can see them on michebag.ca   Don’t forget the www. ! Held my core LifePath group this Monday evening and came out to find a heavy frost on the cars but NO SNOW!!!!  Tuesday, I get a one hour Bowen Therapy appointment for my lymphodema and then head to Chippawa to take soup for Mom and spend some time with her. Got some wonderful testimonials from my clients so I sent them to my webmaster to post them on my website.  A few more pages and I will send out my writing to my webmaster as well, to complete yet another segment of my website, and tomorrow I will send in all the information for the BPW website as well and get the wellness fair advertised.  And that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!Nancy B

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

I am having sleep issues again tonight. I was tired enough ... drifted off watching the White Sox game about 11 p.m. and then got up at 11:30 sweating again, so I got up and picked up a different book (I had been reading this book ... nonfiction .. about Cleopatra, but got tired trying to figure out who's who among all the Ptolemys and Berenikes and Cleopatras ... everyone had the same name ... so I gave up for now.) I had another book I had ordered called "The Illuminator" ... I read another book by the same author called "The Mercy Seller" that was a sequel to "The Illuminator," so I was eager to read this book ... so far, so good. Anyway, started getting drowsy, put the book down ... then I started sweatng ... itching ... finally, I just put the book down and came out in the living room, turned on the TV and watched "Steel Magnolias" ... love that movie. Now the benadryl, painkiller and the magic potion (Take10 To Sleep) have finally kicked in and I'm really getting sleepy ... although still in pain.

I finally went to the doc (or nurse practitioner) yesterday ... She asked all the right questions, poked and prodded, sent me out for some lab work ... seems I had a little fever, too, which surprised me. I should know the results later today. She also wants to change my meds and put me on Cymbalta ... she thinks that might help a lot of stuff ... the fibro, the sleep issues ... but the night sweats could be menopause yet and I need the hormones again, or it could be thyroid, so I guess I'll wait.

After that, I started home ... considered going out to eat, but stopped at one restaurant I wanted to try and after going in, decided I didn't really want to eat out after all ... so I went to the grocery store, bought a rotisserie chicken and some salad and came home. Juliette and I shared my chicken; then I had a glass of cranberry-cherry wine.

Well, I've babbled on long enough ... Nancy, I agree, 91 is too old to do any surgery. You've made the right decision for your mom. Sometimes I think these doctors want to operate without thinking of the age of the patient.

I'm really getting sleepy so I hope I can sleep now. Sorry if I can't remember anything else you've said. I'll read again l;ater.

Good Morning Nancy and OFF!
I'm up a tad early, got a perm yesterday and need to let the hair dry naturally while getting ready for work. So now sipping a chai and watching the local news.
This Friday afternoon I start the long trek towards Swanton Ohio with the dogs!  Will be there till the next Thursday or Friday cleaning, sorting, packing and donating to get the house ready for the new renters.
It was a gorgeous day in the NEK yesterday, sunny, warmer, and I finally found the mail box!  still can't get to it, but I know where it is anyway!
well, time to get ready for work.  Hope you all have a great day!

Did ja ever have one of those weeks???? Well its only Tuesday and I feel like this week will never end. My poor daughter, pregnant, crying and worse off her meds! (she is bi-polar). A student in school had a TOTAL melt down 10 mins. before the end of the day yesterday!! One of my friends and colleagues just died unexpectedly, and this morning at 5 am. my sign language interpreter (she works with a student of mine, doesn't speak for me) called in sick..so now I have to do her job and mine!!!! This is a calgon, Spring something take me away and keep me there!!!!
Well enough whining...I've got to hurry if I'm to be at school on time.
Have a great day everyone..the sun is supposed to warm things up here today
Prayers and hugs to all...

Good mornin' ya'll.
Tuesday and no place I have to be! I am making a green baby afghan my granddaughter asked for. It is with Bernat Baby Sport yarn. I can't find any more of that in town. The baby green is now replaced with sweet grass - way brighter. So I ordered what I needed online. Gotta love the net, you can get anything there!
When I finish my pirate hat, I will have my grandson put the entire thing on (coat, wrist lace, lace jabot, boots and hat) and take a picture. Hanging on a hanger you just don't get the full effect!
Nancy, your Momma is so lucky to have you so close to be her advocate. The nursing home part of the retirement place my parents lived in had many patients with no one nearby to stop the doctors from ordering all kinds of things, no matter the age or fraility of the patient. Now THAT would be a run-on sentence. Sorry Mrs. Spinelli! (my High School English teacher).
My grandson pointed out that if you added the dates of the 9-11-01 tragedy and the date of this massive earthquake/tsunami 3-10-11 you get the date that is predicted to be the end of the world 12-21-12. Who comes up with these end of the world predictions? At least I'll be around to witness this one!!!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

good morning everyone

things here are fairly quiet, but i have a real busy week coming up next week, so
im trying to see if i can push some of the stuff i have to do into the latter part of
this week.  im so tired of paperwork and filing and im not good at it.  im getting
all the stuff for the accountant ready, grrrrrrrrrrrr.   still have to file one more return
for my mom, long story there.

im going to bingo tonight, started playing with my sister in law at her adult community.
its a nice bingo, not too crowded or noisy so ive been enjoying  tuesday evenings there.

work continues to be busy, and with my reduced hours its been hard to keep up some days.
i try to finish as much as i can, so that the remainder does not fall on my co-workers
desk.

hope everyone is doing ok, other than our usual aches, pains etc.

hugs to all,   Jacki

Good morning new friends!!!  Well, today's paper route went well with the exception that we're both exhausted!!  Yesterday, our entire day was spent in Dr.'s offices so we didn't go to bed as we normally do.  After we got home yesterday afternoon, settled down, checked the mail, watched the news, fed & played with our furbabies, we had dinner, showers and then went to bed for a few hours.  Got back up @ midnight and dressed for work, had a snack and back out the door.  Today my daughter sees her PCP.  She's either got a cold or a bad allergy/sinus infection.  We have errands as well so today is going to be another topsy turvy day but all is well.  Yesterday, my new Dr. (Neurologist) that I was nervous about seeing, more like nervous of what he'd have to say about these tremors and dizziness, went well.  He did some nose to finger testing, checked reflexes, asked tons of questions, had me walk back & forth across the room and ruled out Parkinson's disease, thank you Lord!!!  He threw out the word "MS" which scares me to death!!  I think it's because one of my sisters has MS.  Anyway, he's ordered an MRI of my brain.  Time will tell.  I just told him I'd do the MRI only if he would give me some "I don't give a care" pills!!  He wrote a script for Valium.

Well, I'm on my 2nd cup of coffee and need to get Rachaell up, fed & dressed for her Dr. apt.  Everyone have a wonderfully blessed day!!  Thanks for all the sharing you do.  I always look forward in coming here and reading all the post.  I think about you all throughout my day and send up good vibes/prayers for all concerned.

Good morning Nancy B and OFF family,

Nancy, good for you refusing procedures for your 91 yr. old mom. Comfort measures only. I'll keep your mom in my prayers.

Well I went and did a great workout after work and slept like a baby. Now that I'm exercising more the weight and inches are coming off. I'm working my tool and moving onward. Don't know if I want to get back into size 6's again but I would like to be in my size 8's. I'll get there in time with Mindful Eating and exercise.

Today I will work out again, my body feels so much better but I'm still having some tummy pain with these adhesion's. I'm staying on top of it and not taking any pain pills. I hate taking pills and will only resort to that if I have to.

Hugs and prayers for all in need. Happy Tuesday friends! Debbie

Went to the foot doctor yesterday because I've had a sore toe for a week or so......he took one look and said the nail needs to come off -  so 1 1/2 hrs. later (they are so busy) after numbing up the toe, he came in and removed the nail and low and behold, there was an abscess under the nail....so now I'm on anti-biotics for a week.  It bled so bad they had to replace the dressing, but this morning after my shower it looks great and I only have a bandaid and neosporin on it (per instructions).

I'm just glad I'm taking celexa, all these medical issues are getting me down.   I will prevail however!

Good thoughts and prayers for all my dear friends on OFF.

Hugs,
Pat R.
