Hey! It's Monday-Get Up!!! Whats New????

Another manic Monday -- not really!   Have a few minutes before starting work so will say hello to all my friends here.

Had a pretty laid back weekend - did manage to get my house cleaned, and went to church yesterday.  Hit Wal Mart for a lot of fresh veggies and made a nice casserole .  The chicken tenders I baked were good, but I didn't know there were that many in the pkg -- may have to freeze some for later.

I woke this morning to the doves cooing in the yard -- what a lovely sound.....they are my favorite bird.  I've also seen two robins so spring must be very near.

Have to see the foot doc today as I have a very sore toe and mustn't let it go since I am unofficially diabetic.

Have a marvelous day -- hugs, prayers and peace to all.

Pat R.

Good Morning, I am up but can't say I'm peppy or even close. I too love the extra daylight hour at the end of the day. I'm usually awake long before daylight no matter what time of year. Rain and snow on the way to Seattle, spent the nigh with Nate and Kristin, then picked up an enclosed 5 x 8 utility trailer, loaded up the twins' "Big girl beds" an hauled them to Erin's 90 miles south of Seattle. It was definitely a working weekend. Lots of baby and almost 3 yr old time while their mom and dad cleaned and did final little projects in the remodeled home. It is ALMSOST ready for occupancy but with 3 little ones, two full time jobs and baseball coaching there is little time fo.r much of anything. I think they'll be in the house by the end of the week.

Did I say it rained, and rained, and rained. . . and then did I tell you it rained some more? From the time we left Erin's at close to 4pm until we walked in ou door about 9pm last night. And I mean what I call "Arkansas Rain!" Susan, Sybul, and Jeannie know what I mean. This was bouncing off the road, in your face, almost impossible to see rain. Lots of trucks passing us and us trying to get out of their water being thrown right back at us. Not a fun drive to say the least but we made it over and back safely.

Work today and then a huge "to do" list. In two weeks I'll head back over: first to Seattle for a bridal shower for Kristin, my daughter in law to be. Then back don to Erin's to help with settling end kinds of things. I told her to make a list. Then I'll go back to Seattle for my consultation for the upper thigh lift before coming home on the 28th. That too will be a busy weekend.

I need to get in gear.

New product I tried at Erin's that I love! Aveeno tinted moisturizer with an spf of 30. I had given up on liquid makeups; they always felt like a mask and seem to accentuate the wrinkles. This went on very light and looked nice all day. I think I'll pick some up.

Hope you all have a great day. I intend to do my best to.

Hi Karen,
I don't use liquid makeup anymore either. I use a little bronzer and that's it. I like simple. Now that I'm getting older seems like mascara makes my eyes itch by the end of the day so I've just been using it on my tips only with a little eyeliner so people can see my eyes! LOL

Karen,  I'm going to look for the Aveeno.  Sounds like something I could use, especially when we're at the lake.

Both you and Debbie might like to try the makeup I use: Bare Minerals.  It's wonderful!  I wore Merle Norman for years because it was the only makeup I had found that didn't aggravate my roseacea (sp?).  But I could hardly wait to get home each evening and scrub it off! Ugh!  It WAS just like wearing a mask.

But the Bare Minerals is so light, I don't even know it's there.  And it doesn't aggravate my skin.  And it's so quick and simple to apply.  Really.  Just a couple of minutes and you're done.  I just love it.

Had a very sunny, warm weekend working outside in the gardens.  Yesterday, Val (who isn't supposed to be lifting anything over 20 lbs with his ruptured disk) decided to put the panels back up around our garden spot.  He was using a homemade post setter that was awkward to use and when he went to lift it up, it flew off and bashed he on the head.  After a trip to the ER and six staples in the front of his hairline we made it back home and he decided to put up one more post.  As you can guess, he did the same thing again, lol.  This time he didn't do as much damage.  Just a few scratches on his forehead and nose and a lump right in the middle of his forehead.  I keep telling him he is turning into a senile old fool, lol

Good morning dear Margo....and everyone....

This weather constantly changing it causing my Fibro to flare up...it has been a painful couple days. I do not like day light savings time either.....grrrrrrrrr!! My sleep is all messed up!

Nothing too exciting happening today. Gracie spent yesterday afternoon and night with her dad. So quiet when she isn't here in the AM. The little tornado will be here soon....LOL

Nic and I had a great evening last night. We ran some errands then came home and Nic grilled our dinner. Jamie was working. Nic and I watched Due Date and then The Hangover. We laughed all night!!

Going to do some grocery shopping when Grace gets back. I need to go and make up the list with my daughter. I will check in again later.

Prayers for all in need. Have a wonderful day!!

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Hi Margo,
I am up and already moving today, late checking in though.  I had to go to the hematologist's for a venofur infusion.  My numbers are okay, but I am having surgery and have been on anticoagulants since my blood clots in the Fall.  I also got some bloodwork done while there.

Then it was to Walmart for some groceries I needed, and now I am doing some laundry.  Mom and I got some bargains at the Salvation Army, for my grandchildren, and I am laundering them before I give them to them in a few weeks.

Other than that, I have some tidying to do.  Nothing exciting.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

I'm glad someone has energy because I have none. I'm off today and feeling lousy. Everything hurts, except my head. My fingers are swollen ... so I finally made an appointment with the doc for this afternoon. Well, actually the nurse practitioner but just do something for me ... I feel crappy. Then I'll hit the chiro on the way home. My back is so bad yesterday my knee was giving out on me.

And last night at work didn't help ... I had to do the Lafayette scoreboard page (lots of tiny type, lots of formatting) ... lots of moving the mouse and boy, did my neck and shoulders hurt. Plus, I must have been on the world's slowest server ... every keystroke seemed to take two-three minutes. I can type fast, so waiting for the computer to respond to me was aggravating. It took forever to do two pages. I was so tired to start and even more tired by the time I was done.

Anyway, I don't have much planned for today. Too tired to do anything much. Have a good day.
