Hi y'all, it's Thursday

Hey, there, OFF family:

It's nearly 2 a.m. and I'm watching some TV ... last night when I got home the DVR wasn't working, so I watched "Shutter Island" ... freaky movie, hard to understand at times, but at the end it all made sense.

Well, the other guy from Michigan tonight didn't show up, didn't call ... leaving us in the lurch again and I had to do Monroe sports along with my other duties. He's done this a couple of times now ... when he finally called in sometime about 10 p.m., all my boss said to him was, it's OK, we managed. I'm sorry, but it's not OK not to show up to work and not call. This is not some youngster who doesn't know any better ... this is a guy in his 40s or 50s. Granted, this isn't the world's greatest job and there are plenty of days I don't want to go in ... I'm in pain most of the time I'm there ... but I'm there and I do my job because I'm part of a team and people depend on me.

So tonight I did seven pages for three newspapers. Feel like crap but glad I was able to do my job and someone else's. So much for that crap that I do the least amount of pages, that I don't help anyone out. At least I show up every day (the guy that didn't come in has been here since October and has taken more sick days than most of the people in the office ... I've taken one since July).

Enough ranting. I need to go to bed soon. Hope everyone has a good day. I'll check in later.

Good Morning Eileen and Friends,

My subbing job is kicking my butt. Haven't slowed down since we returned from AZ last Wednesday. After work today we head to Seattle to pick up some furniture from relatives given to the twins for their "big girl"  room. We'll take it down on Saturday, spend the night and help with kids while they move into the remodeled farm house. Can't wait to see the finished product

Doubt if I'll have time to post much if any this weekend. Will be busy, happy with the girls so you all have a good weekend and I'll sign on when I get back home.

good morning everyone

i went to bed way early last nite, and now ive been up since 230 am,  sheesh!!!

anyway, its supposed to be a rainy miserable day here, so when i come home from
work i think a nap on a rainy day sounds good.

life is pretty mellow right now, cept im drowning in paperwork for a change.  my fault, cause
i let it go too long.  i need to have a paperwork day here soon, and clear it all up.

hope you all are doing OK, and not suffering more than the usual aches and pains for
girls our age.

hugs to all,

Jacki

Good morning, ya'll.
Tuesday I went to Verizon to see what they had to offer for plans. I had gotten a letter saying my old Sidekick pkg was being discontinued. Well, I could get a plan with less options and minutes for about $40 a month more. Sooo, back to T-mobile. Got a nifty new Galaxy S 4G phone with MORE minutes and options for $10 more a month. That is more like it.
Yesterday was PT. I am really getting tired of it. Walking upright with no limp is just gonna take me building up the muscles. I still have problems making the moves that "splay" my hips. Like sitting Indian fashion.
Our DIL has been battling bad headaches, tingling in her hands, that has now gone to her feet, plus back pain. After many tests they now say she has 'cervical cord sprynx' with a 5 mm hole from C3 to T1 vertebrae. She is waiting for a call from a neurosurgeon. We are all praying for a simple fix.
Monica wanted to see a picture of my memory pillow, and if I can remember how to post it I will. Today is devoted to my pirate costume.
Everyone have a fantabulous day.

Morning all....rain drops bouncing on the roof woke us. Finally some rain here, so very needed. It has been dry and with low humidity, very dangerous fire conditions. Hubby put the throw rugs out last night to catch the rain.
We had a happy day yesterday. I know I go on about Yoda, but he adds so much purpose to our lives. We had gotten into a very lazy, go back to bed, and not walking routine after Diablo died. Now we are up, get dressed, go for walk, and then do other stuff instead of just hanging around. It is doing wonders for us.
I thank Judy for being so chatty on the tread yesterday. One reason I hesitated to start and OCDing, was the relies. Ok to read for me, but still hard to do a lot of reaching out.
Sober 127 and so proud of me. We don't often buy bread as it calls me to come and eat it. However I bought a multi grain bagette and hubby bought a loaf of cheddar bread from Panera. Hearing 2 voices calling me to take a taste all day. A tricky food for me as I love it.
Hubby is going to vacuum today, big project for a RV home. We have a built in system and the hose is huge. He'll do floors, curtins, and anything else he can reach. He is OCD on cleaning, we have gleaming light bulbs.
Hope the weather problems up north go away. Be safe and happy, hugs, Monica

Congrats on your ongoing sobriety.  I know how challenging it can be.

Good morning everyone!!!  It's cloudy with some sprinkles so far this morning.  I sent my daughter to school with a rain coat just in case.  Well, hubby & I are home from our morning route and I'm worse this morning with this dizziness.  I didn't say anything to him while on our route because I didn't want to worry nor distract him but once we got home, I told him I was going to have to call my  PCP this morning.  He knew something wasn't right, I was quite...lol.  I don't mean to whine and carry  on about this problem but honestly, I'm worried.  It's something different and undiagnosed so that concerns me.  I do, however, feel ashamed to even bring it up when so many of you have problems far worse than this.  I just have discovered that you all have good ears to listen, especially when I don't want to trouble my husband.   He seems to fret way too much when I'm sick.  Ok, enough about me.  I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe from these weather conditions.  I'm sitting here with Good Morning America on T.V. and between tornadoes, flooding, etc., it's a mess out there.

Hoping everyone has a wonderfully blessed day.

Cindy

Hi Cindy,
I don't know if anyone has suggested this to you but this sounds like Vertigo.   The type I had was described to me as having a calcium crystal fall in between the cartilage in our inner ear that gives us balance.  I had to go to physical therapy where they pinpointed which side of my head was the problem and then there were moves to do to dislodge the calcium crystal out of that position.  Once you learn what to do, you can do it yourself.   It comes and goes because the crystals can reposition in the cartilage so you will need to know how to do it if it happens again.  You can Google all about this - it is called "benign paroxysmal positional vertigo".  And the treatment method is called the Epley maneuver.
I hope this helps.
Hugs,
Bev

Cindy,
P.S.  It took doing the manuever twice a day for three weeks before it worked for me.  This was two years ago and it has only come back on me once since then and it only took a few days of doing the maneuver to fix it again.
Hugs,
Bev

Hi Eileen and OFF family, Eileen so sorry you got dumped on at work and hope you are feeling better when you wake up.

It's snowing again here in Michigan and that's all you can say...it's Michigan! LOL
Well actually it's a combo of rain and snow!

Plan on working out in the gym, I was going to go to weight lifting class but tummy hurts so I think I'll work out in the warm therapy pool instead. It's all good as long a I move.

Take care and thank goodness it's almost Friday! Hugs Debbie
