Aloha Jo and I'm happy to meet you. I hope that your DH gets the treatment he needs with no complications. It can be so scary when a loved one is battling a health issue. I feel for you.

I had to laugh at the image of your kitty tangling the yarn. They are so cute when they do their little mischief things. I have a little girl kitty (Popoki) who daily waits for me to sit down at the computer because she thinks I'm doing it so she can have her "massage." If I don't scratch her back long enough, she flys off my lap and flips her tail at me....... Makes me laugh every time.

This morning (8:30) the day is starting out beautifully, but if I look to the east the clouds are getting dark...so hopefully another day of rain. Our mountains and hillsides are now an emerald green and so lush. So often they are brown and dry, and a real fire hazard.

My eye is still uncomfortable, but I'm trying to ignor the irritation and keep busy. Finished taxes yesterday......Yippee. Only need to send off to CPA tomorrow. So many projects looking at me, and I still am a lazy slug sometimes and just want to sit, read, or vegge in front of the TV. Bad Maui Karen!!

Thanks for starting this thread...and I hope all of you have a wonderful Sunday.

Aloha nui loa,

Karen

Hi Jo and my OFF family:

I'm sure your white yarn tangler is cute. Juliette, I'm sure, would love yarn to tangle, if I ever got back to doing stitchery. I haven't done it for a long time because every time I'd start to do it, one of the cats would jump in my lap and insist on playing with the yarn. Juliette hasn't shown herself to be a lap cat yet ... maybe I should try it.

Talked with my brother and mom already ... Mom cut her finger while she was trying to slice open a bun last week ... Gary thought he might have to take her to the ER for stitches, but finally got it stopped. Then, later in the week, they made a trip to this bank where she has some accounts so "they know I'm still alive." Turns out she has an enormous amount of money in a money market account (checking) that is earning hardly anything. When Gary saw how much she had, he said, "We're going to do some improvements around the house come spring." No doubt! She needs new carpeting, kitchen flooring, appliances, windows ... you name it, she needs it. That house needs so much, and she won't spend the money. She gets all anxious anytime she has to do anything around the house. So my brothers are going to take charge this spring.

As for me, I have to work again tonight. I work six nights this week (Sunday is actually on the week before) and so I'll get a little extra money, which will be nice, although hard on my body. But then the next week, I'll have three days off, with one day a furlough day.

Anyway, off to the shower and then lunch. Have a good day.

Hi Jo and OFF family!!

Well its late afternoon here and had to work today after being off for a few days it was good to be back again! NOT!!! OMG what a mess I had this morning!!! You would think that being trained for cleanliness there would not be a problem...haha looks like she never learned a thing!!! If the auditors would have shown uo this morning they would have fainted from the filth she left for me to clean up!!!! But enough of that as I am sure you all are not interested.

Talked to mom last night and she was happy as can be because she was holding her great great grandson!!! Its a shame they didn't take any 5th generation pictures!!!!! She said oh next tim we will get them taken...ummm what if there isn't a next time?? Anyhow my older brothers BP is giving him problems again. Seems they can't get it stable. He said he might go in to the ER and see what they will do for him. I think that is a good idea especially when he told me what the readings have been!!

Got another couple inches of the snirt as Debbie calls it on the ground this morning! Car doors were about frozen shut also!!! But I got it to open...good thing!!! I so want spring to get here and STAY!!!!

Well I rattled long enough here and probably nobody will read this anyhow...lol

OH!!! What the heck happened to make Janet leave us?????? I can't figure it out at all...Janet you come back here!!!

HUGS

Jo, I have a clotting mutation also and take coumadin and will for the rest of my life (factor V leiden), I have had blood clots including one in the lung.  I have had surgeries since that episode with out a problem,  they can put him on Lovenox which is a shot form of blood thinner until they get him back and adjusted on coumadin.  I took the lovenox for the wls.  the other surgeries I had I just stopped taking the coumadin and restarted afterwards.  They can use heparin too which is also an injectable.  Hope that helps!  Having shoulder problems myself, does not seem to be rotator cuff, but seems to be more of a tendonitis/impingement type thing. been going for months and getting old.  Good luck!
