Saturday! What's NEW with YOU?

Good Morning

You all put me to shame.  Everyone gets up at or before the crack of dawn.  I just hauled my sleepy butt (and the rest of me) out of bed at 8 AM.  Under protest, I might add, but the kitties were hungry and letting me know.

Raining buckets here, 40 degrees, but the good thing is that the snow is gone, except for some of those gigantic piles the snowplows make.  Makes for an achey day.  Even the "knuckles" in my toes hurt.....

Eating is under better control.  I've been able to pretty much stop all those nasty carbs that recurrently haunt my life.  I'm back to the healthy eating that's worked in the past.  Still waiting for the scale to catch up.  Afraid I did some damage being 6 weeks laid up, but it's reversible.

I'm meeting some friends for dinner tonight.  I always eat better when I'm in public.  Maybe I should take all my meals out?  Guess not...

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Hi Debbie, I just love the What's New thread. I remember how much time Patti D spent with it when I first joined this group. Remember how she must have spent hours responding to each post? I loved that but this seems to work for us and takes so much less time. I love keeping my finger on what is going on in all of your lives. Just a quick comment helps me to still feel connected. Facebook just seems so huge to me. I quess I like a small neighborhood. Sun is shining, son and future daughter in law are here for a wedding this weekend. So it's a biscuits and gravy morning! We got home at 9pm Wednsday and I worked the rest of the week. I was so happy to see the weekend arrive. I'm enjoying "wedding talk" with Kristin. Nathan doesn't understand the whole "registering for gifts" thing! I told him it's kind of a girl thing; just let her enjoy it!

I remember when we got married sheets and towel sets were standard gifts. They are so expensive now that I wonder if anyone gets them!

Hope you all have a great day. I need to get busy!

Good morning all,

Just checking in while our internet is working.  Soon, so the provider says, it will be running efficiently.

Nothing important to add. Ho hum is good around my house these days.

Let's see if this will post.

Greetings OFF Family,
I was supposed to go to an appointment today, but felt too tired to drive safely.  I am going to take a nap instead.

Tonight, I am supposed to go to my nephew's new apartment for dinner with my family.  I really don't want to go, but am not going to deprive my nephew of this opportunity to show off his place.  He is special needs, and loves attention from the family.

Nothing exciting in my life today.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Debbie and my OFF family:

I was up shortly after midnight and on the computer but didn't check OFF ... I was in bed and decided it was time to put down the book and go to sleep. So I went to the bathroom first, went back to bed and started sweating profusely ...ugh! Couldn't even think of sleep at that point, so I got out of bed, got my ice pack and a big glass of ice water and watched TV for a while ("Who do you think you are?" on my DVR, and played some computer solitaire. Then I started dozing ... that, and another vicodin did the trick (my knee was bothering me, too).

It has been raining all morning here ... maybe all last night, too. It got very windy last night, so I closed the screen door that I had open during the day, expecting it to rain at any moment (maybe that's why I had a slightly sore throat this morning ... we have budding trees around here ... very pretty but hard on my allergies).

Sorry Daphne has a UTI ... I have been through that with my cats (Cinnamon had one at the end of his life; Scooter had one when I thought he was peeing on the carpet ... turns out that's when I had the leak from behind the wall, but he did have a UTI anyway). They are no fun. Cinnamon's happened while I was down at my mom's when she broke her pelvis and when I got home, I had to make a tough decision ... he was pretty bad off, having breathing problems and I finally decided to put him to sleep. It was very tough for me. This was pre-WLS ... kinda led to the decision to make a change in my life, one of the many things.

I have to work tonight ... it was so nice have two days off in a row, like a real weekend. I got a lot done around the house, too. Woke up this morning with Juliette jumping on top of me, then cuddling next to me and grooming me hand (but she likes to give me love nibbles too ... I have to tell her it's kisses only).

Nice to see Margo back and everyone else, too. Hope y'all have a good day.

Good Morning Debbie and everyone that is still here. It's noon here in California - no rain, just a few wispy white clouds way up high. I slept until 10:00 this morning. It was heaven... but I walked into the family room and knew there was poop somewhere- you know "that" smell. We have a new second dog that is not totally potty trained. Luckily she pooped on the stone- BIG POOP- she's a 2 or so year old chocolate lab. The story is... my daughter wanted a playmate/sister for her black lab. A friend of mine rescued this one from the street. It was very sweet, but very dirty and thin... not fed adequately or cared for. My daughter was in over her head and my husband and I got attached to this new dog so we are sharing her. Her new name is Penny because she is the color of a copper penny. She loves it here- a surplus of love. As soon as she gets her shots she will get to go to the dog park.
It's time for me to get dressed... I'm taking our Roxy and Laura's Sookie to the dog park today. Laura is sick with the flu, so I will be trying to handle both dogs. GOOD LUCK, huh? :) Yesterday I took Penny to Pet Smart and she almost took me down in the parking lot with her excitement. I just try to fall forward from now on... Penny just passed gas and I need to get her outside FAST! Something smells imminent!
Sorry about this post- it's almost all about dog poop- lol!

Julia  -  poor Penny, poor you!  LOL
I knew exactly what you were referring to when you wrote "that" smell.  I have encountered it when I have walked in the door after work and one of my 'kids' has had an accident.  And poor Penny and you with her doggie farts!  Dogs are such a laugh.

by the way, thanks for being concerned about me a while back.  I am much better now.

Afternoon Debbie....probably should be saying good evening since I'm 3 hours behind you all LOL  Suppose to be at jewelry party this afternoon but decided I would just order from the catalog, stay home and get some small projects around the house completed.

Hubby is still dealing with head cold but getting better.  Work ended on a good note with me surprising my boss with 2 sets of financials that he wasn't expecting until Monday (if he was lucky! LOL).  I also had my first of 3 training sessions to be an OH Support Group Leader..consisted of a teleconference over lunch.  My boss is being so encouraging about this new step in my WLS journey that I felt compelled to show my appreciation by getting the books done.

Just wanted to jump in and say 'hi', see what everyone was up to and wish everyone a great day.  So many of you have already posted..and while I can't possible remember what everyone is dealing with...please know you are all in my prayers for positive outcomes to lifes challenges.
