What's New?-Thursday, March 3, 2011
Greetings Friends,
I am actually up late on Wednesday nigh****ching the DVR, because I can't sleep. I had a headache all day, and accomplished very little.
Thursday has me calling my podiatrist to schedule a date for my toe surgery, and also getting to my AA meeting. I am hoping to hit the pool, but am not sure. Walking my Shiba Inu, Utley, is going to happen several times.
So, What's New with you all?
Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning Trish, Those to come. . .
Nice seeing you on this board, hope you are feeling better this morning. ..
I am about to go into a very busy period at work, a case that has been going on for longer than I've worked at my present job is going to be having a confirmation hearing next week and into the following week, that's how big a case it is, so there will be over 40 people from out of town in our office space, we actually had to rent temporary space in order to accomodate those coming and bring in help from the home office. So it will be interesting to say the least as some of the people involved are a real pain when the pressure is on them. Oh well that's why legal secretaries get paid well to deal with the pains of such times as this. Hoping to make some extra money so that I can plan a vacation for mid-August.
On another note regarding the workplace, as you well know I've had some issues with some negative folks in the office, well the last component in that is now leaving and I must say I wish them well, but this latest event certainly has many in the office very happy. You see, the Universe does take care of us, if we stay the course and just be who we are. I could be happy here, just wish the benefits were more in line with what I was used to.
Anyway, I think the season changing is affecting my sleep patterns because I am having difficultly going to sleep at night and waking up before 5 a.m., so needless to say I am tired alot of the time lately, though my daytime energy level is ok, it's just by 6 I'm exhausted, yet I cannot fall asleep before 10 most nights and more like midnight. I'm sure this is just a byproduct of the many changes going on in my life, all good, and it will eventually work its way through.
Ok, time to get in the shower, nice visiting with you and wish you all the very best of days, with peace and strength for those who are going through the more serious life situations.
Hugs, Laureen

Good mornin' ya'll.
More genealogy on this cool morning. I dug out ALL of the floppies I "inherited" from Dad. My Sis, just didn't want them. About half of them have family pictures on them. So, we dug out the old external floppy drive and my DH spent all day yesterday transferring them to a CD. Except, Dad didn't label very many of them. Sooo, now I am gonna have to go through and hope I can remember those old relatives.
I need 2 more crochetted squares for the baby afghan I am working on in the evenings. There are 3 in each corner, then the inside is a very simple pattern, so that should stitch up easily.
I finally got the info from my cousin (picture, names and dates) for the pillow I am making her for her long lost daughter she just found.
So I can begin embroidering the info on it.
All this crafty stuff is helping my weight. I am only loosing about a pound a week, but at least it is going DOWN! Still not able to do much prolonged exercise. But I can do 8 min at a time on my elliptical.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Hi Grammy...every time I see you post something on the genealogy line, I tell myself I want to write to you....my niece is heavily into genealogy...has a website....www.genealogygems.com...does pod casts and a bunch of other things related to searches and stuff. I've not actually checked it out (not my 'thing') but thought you might be interested in checking her out. She just got back from London doing some big-wingding convention...I guess those who are into genealogy would know what it was. Just thought you might be interested....;-)

Morning all. Thanks for starting thread Trish. Hope that headache is gone gone gone.
Sober 120 days and so proud of me.
Yesterday was busy, but fruitfull. The Traveling Bra did well and hubby was happy, me too. We did some very creative food shopping. I checked the local ads, made a list, and we saved $76 on the things we wanted and needed. Food here is expensive, but we do find many bargains. One store has great produce, the other chain store great meats and store brands. Love it when you need stuff and it is on sale.
Discovering what treats and which foods Yoda enjoys. We got so many packets of free foods at the pet celebration. Finding that Yoda doesn't like the expensive stuff very much. He had such fun at the dog park. We did too. He gets a bath today, should be interesting............thanks to you all for understanding us about going on and on about this dog. His addition to our lives is wonderful. After being without our Diablo for almost a year, the decision on a new family member was difficult. This new little guy is delightful, loving, trusting, and shows us daily how much he loves us and his new home.
Happy for Carla...Phyllis and her hubby arrive today for a visit. We are planning a girls day with Carla, Phyllis, Candy, and me. That will be fun. Carla is so giving and welcoming.
Happy day..prayers and hugs to all.

You go girl!!!!! 120 days is awesome. I want to invite you to the Transfer Addictions page for support about alcoholism/addictions, if you are interested.
I have a little over a year sober. I am right there on the same journey with you.

Morning y'all!
Oh happy day! We are packing up to go see our grandbaby! I haven't seen him since January, and DH hasn't seen him since Christmas. He's 8 month's old now. Can't wait!
Did well with my walking and my pureed food yesterday. Tried making egg salad for my lunch yesterday. It was good, but so very filling. I could only take a few bites! Made hubby an egg salad sandwich with the rest of it.
Down another pound this morning. That will make 21 total. I know that losing a pound a day can't last, but it sure is fun while it is happening! :)
Better run! So much to do before we leave at noon today. It's a 6 hour drive to the lakehouse near San Antonio. Daughter and grandbaby live in San Antonio, so we'll see them tomorrow. Hoping for great weather to take the boat out on the lake this time.
Have a great day!

Good Morning, All
Monica, congrats on your continued success. 120 days. We're all so pleased for you.
Yesterday I got my income taxes done. Discovered that my Federal withholding out of my pension is lower than it should be, so have to make some adjustments. Today I talk to my financial advisor (fancy name for a guy who knows a lot more about money than I'll ever understand), and will hopefully start drawing a little extra a month to get me through. Looking forward to Social Security next year. It will make things a lot easier.
In a few weeks I'm headed to Florida to visit some friends. Including seeing Carla, Monica, and Phyllis!!!!! I love that part! After the winter we've had in western NY, I've decided to look around a bit and see if there's somewhere warm I can stay for a few months next year. This year has about done me in. Then I'll make a decision about really looking for a cheap place of my own down there for part of the year. My joints can't take this cold much longer. I can't seem to get warm, no matter how I crank up the heat.
The cats are an issue if I try to rent something, but they come with me or I don't go. Can't imagine what the ride down there will be like with 3 cats in the car......
That's about it for me. I'm slowly starting to resume some of my volunteer work. Foot still gets sore after a while walking around. I'm still ahead of where I thought I'd be this soon after surgery.
Gotta go look at summer clothes and see if there's something that I can squeeze over my 20 lb regain so I can be ready for Florida. Food is under control again. The scale just hasn't caught up.
Everyone have a wonderful day.

Good morning Trish and OFF family...Happy Thursday and Friday is almost here...I live for my weekends off, don't have to work on the weekends.
Today my pouch is grouchy...go figure. I'm not hungry and I haven't been right since emergency surgery in July for small bowel obstruction. I am under my doctor's care and taking good care of myself but I do believe I have more adhesion's. It hurts to exercise and that's not normal for me.
So this morning I'm sipping on my protein EAS shake to get protein in and I've taken 2 of my vitamins. You know when you are "off" and I'm "off" today. So I think I will rest my pouch and eat fresh fruit if I need to much. Thank goodness I have EAS shakes in my office for such a case like today.
On a brighter note, the sun is shining and I plan to take a walk around the hospital a few times during my break. It's a mile each round. Stretch my legs and smell the clean air.
We sure are getting a lot of new people and hey...Welcome!! Hugs and prayers for those in need. Today I will continue to put a smile on my face when I'm walking about and hopefully pass on a smile and uplift their day! Debbie
