Just want to add my 2cents worth of praise and congratulations for your survival of a horrible situation. ^_^  Living with a spouse who suffers daily pain from a fall he took (fell 34' onto a cement floor) many years ago, I can certainly identify with your stress and frustration at doctors who just 'don't get it'.  Don't know what I'm proud of most...your 114days of sobriety....or overcoming the stress and frustration of a very bad situation. LOL  But then, both are to be commended, as the 2ne one could have easily destroyed the first ;-)  Soooo Proud of you Monica!

I soooo agree with everyone on here. Staying sober through all of that stress is monumental! I am also so glad your DH finally got his meds. It is so much easier to stay ahead of your pain with regular meds, then to try to 'catch up' after you have been without them for too long!
Keep up your resolve. We are all behind you 100%!

I am overwhelmed at the love and caring I have received from you all. I knew inside of me that I would not drink, but was really scared of what else I would or could do.
Hubby has really severe PTSD, he is a combat wounded vet. His phyical problems are bad but his mental problems are worse. He has worked through wonderful programs to help this and has been successful. But when someone "hurts" him or his, he can very aggressive. He met this new doctor last fall. Her major concern was that he smokes cigs. He had been sick most of the summer with a bad jaw infection and then stomach problems from the antibodics. She ordered labs and other tests, but never told him the results. She kept  him waiting almost 3 hrs to be seen with a scheduled app. She had just come to the VA and was trying to learn about her patients. But when hubby got in to see her, she knew nothing about him, had not read his file. Oh I could go on and on, but won't. I found out she can't keep a nurse to help her, my friends at the VA say she has had multiple complaints on her. Hubby had his last doctor since 2000 and she was so wonderful and totally understood the veteran and his or her situations.
Just know that more stress to come as we take measures to stop this doctor from hurting other vets. But with his meds we can proceed without rage, pain, and yes despair that this has happened.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart under the Traveling Bra, Monica.....I stay strong with your support.

I'm chiming in late, here, but just want you to know how proud we all are that you stayed in control during a particularly difficult time.

You're so often in my thoughts.
