Good morning OFF!

This day is off to a good start!  Finally slept all night last night and woke up feeling like me again.  First time since pre-surgery!  I have almost no pain or discomfort at all this morning.  My body feels almost normal.  Just a little bit of soreness in the belly area.

Today, DH and I are going to get out of the house a bit.  It's warm here, but not sunny today.  Just sort of overcast, but no rain forecast.  Doesn't matter to me.  I just want to get back out in the world today.

Doing fine with my liquid diet so far, but looking forward to my post-op visit with the Doctor in Houston tomorrow.  He'll clear me to start my pureed food diet.  I can hardly wait.  I'm ready for something else besides soup, yogurt and jello!  Hubby made himself scrambled eggs for dinner last night and they looked and smelled so good . . . !

Planning a trip to our lakehouse near San Antonio later in the week.  About a 6 hour drive, but I think I'll be able to manage it by week's end.  Can't wait to see my grandbaby again!

Grammy--I do genealogy, too!  Don'cha just love it!  And I love hearing about all your crafting.

Have a great day, all!

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes.....I hesitated to mention it, and yet I feel blessed to reach this age...

Gloomy and supposed to rain later this afternoon.

Going to put some chicken breasts in the oven for lunch and leftovers for the coming week.

Have a great day all.

Hi Connie...so glad to see the move has been completed.  Believe it or not, the hardest part is behind you...all the preparation, packing, decision making...etc.  It'll take a few weeks to get everybody's schedules and routines worked out..but at least you are there~!  Hope 'normal' returns soon.

Hi Carolyn and my OFF family:

I love all the creations people make. My SIL quilts, and she's very good. I tried learning how to knit but was all thumbs. I miss doing my ceramics but don't know where I'd put it if I was doing it. No one to give it to.

Work last night was just normal, other than the one sports editor gave me an edict not to edit anything in his column ... don't know why, there wasn't anything all that much that was wrong with it, just a few grammatical things (which I did edit, I can't NOT edit anything). He's a strange duck. Young guy, thinks his stuff is perfect (it's not).

Mom's polyps in her colon are benign, so we're all happy about that. She doesn't need another colonoscopy for three years. Actually the doctor said she probably doesn't need to go through another one ever again. She's happy about that.

I work tonight and Monday ... it's 78, humid and the trees are blooming, so my allergies are acting up. I woke up at 8 with pain going down my left leg so bad I had to take a painkiller and put some BioFreeze on my back and hip to get back to sleep. It was very painful. It's OK now. I did get back to sleep ... Juliette came over and purred for me and licked my fingers ... I think she knew I was in pain. Cats sense these things.

Anyway, I need to get in the shower and have some lunch. Have a good day. Monica, I'm glad things are less stressful for you. I know it must be better for your hubby to have his drugs ... I know I would be miserable if I didn't have some painkillers. Congrats on staying sober through all that.

Afternoon OFF
today is a laid back day..hubby has come down with a head cold and it's taken its toll on his energy.  We had planned on going to the railroad museum (hubby use to run a small railroad in Washington state) but with it being as cold as it is, think it best we stay inside.  After I finish with the computer, I'll get back to crocheting my dog blanket and hope I can fini**** today.  Don't know what new project I'll start..but something will come to mind, just need to wait and the 'little voice' will give me a direction to go in. (I know that sounds weird but  I do have an inner voice that 'talks' to me...the same one that lets me know when to stop putting groceries in my cart cus I've reached my $ limit, without actually adding prices up on a calculator)

Gave the 2 older chihuahuas baths last nite.  The oldest is a 13yr old long haired...named Sweetie and it fits so perfectly.  She is so good and cooperative when blowing drying her..and she looks so pretty all fluffy and sweet smelling.  And of course, she loves all the attention ;-)

Nothing else of any excitement going on here...still cold even tho the sun is out...cold air out of Alaska is keeping temps in the 40's....should be closer to 60's this time of the year.

Back to work tomorrow so will enjoy today.  But I love my job so will enjoy being there also LOL

Good vibes to all
