Anxiety comes from experiencing failure in advance. --Seth Godin

Everything, I always feel I will fail. But each day I show me that I can be positive and be successful.
Thank you all for your support and love, Monica

I think that is a common fear, that we will fail. All we can do is our best, we try and life moves on.
How we term "success" is what needs to be looked at. Improvement of any kind is a success in my eyes. Monica, you are a success!

I am anxious about which WLS to have.  Generally, I do not experience anxiety. I make a decision and move forward.  I am moving forward now, just have not decided  exactly in which direction. Fortunately, most of the preliminary stuff is the same for all choices. so I am safe for now

Heather, just be reassured that IF you chose to do WLS you will do it when you are ready. Its not something to be forced into. Old story, but I was all set up to go, approved, and my dearest friends were worried sick about me, asked me to try another way first. I did, probably relieved to be "talked" out of it (let's face it... I wasn't ready to commit) I lost and regained, really put it on when I gave up smoking..but its funny, that thing that got me most plump was also my first step towards change. 5 years later I was ready...and how! At least as far as getting through the surgery and back on my feet. I think it is VERY important that you feel "this is the time right NOW" before you step into the changes any type of WLS will bring. As gung-ho as I am, I still have bad habits to break. Its all freeing, but sometimes challenging too.

You might find some road of success without WLS. There's nothing wrong with that! Good to have insight from those shoes as well.

Thanks Gi,
I appreciate your words of support. You are so right about this serious decision. Six months ago, I would not have considered it. About 6 weeks ago, something clicked in my brain and now I have a surgeon and I'm trying to decide which surgry to have. What a difference 6 months makes!

Hello everyone, I am a old newbie. I was here in like 2007 or 2008 and I just gave up on trying to decide what surgery I wanted. My dearest friend/neighbor had Lap Band and is now deceased but she said she would do it all over again if she could have before she passed..I am considering the RNY because I have gained close to 60 pounds since I was here last. I was about 270 to 280ish and now I am 334 but was 344. I need to find some way to get the weight off because I have diabeties..high blood pressure and alot of other ailments..I am 53 yrs old and I should not be this way I know. I think now I am ready!..any or all input will be a big welcome..thanks.

Ginny, welcome back! Yup, the same thing happened to me...only I gained 100lbs before it was a go. I do not regret anything about RnY, though I wish I'd done it sooner. As we've written it's a very personal choice. Best wishes with any procedure you chose.
