New to OFF
Hello to the OFF! Found my way here after Laureen mentioned it in the PA forum, and also have heard good things from a second PA friend.
I live in central PA and had RNY surgery in July 2009. I have lost 105 lbs. at my "best" point but am struggling with 5 lbs. that seem to want to come back, and working hard so that 5 does not turn into 10. I have been very fortunate that my journey has been pretty uneventful - no complications, no regrets!
A little about me:
Married - 2nd marriage with 6 grown children and 14 grandchildren. 10 of the grandchildren are under age 6. Family is scattered across the US from Washington State to Michigan, Vermont, and PA.
Work full time in education, but not in a school setting. My work is for a nonprofit and honestly, I am at a crossroads of whether I should look for a new job. It's very tempting.
We recently bought a condo in SW FL which will be our retirement home. I get to visit quite often as I can work remotely from time to time, and love being in FL. Hubby is in a phase of his career where he gets to take very little time off, so he is not able to be here as often as I am.
I have a ton of interests: music, reading, freelance writing, learning to knit, some sewing (getting back to it), travel, family, church activities, and fitness to name a few.
I am an incurable optimist and LOVE meeting new people and making friends!
Look forward to getting acquainted here!

The RNY forum has some very nice people, and its a great forum for general information about our surgery. I like the fact that here, we have a forum of peers. There are all sorts of surgery here, but seen from the perspective that we are all going through this WLS thing together..and from a shared point of view generation-wise

Hey Lynn,
Good to see you here. I learned a lot about you in your post. Southwest Florida, huh? If you ever want a traveling partner, just say the word. LOL
I am looking forward to making some new friends here. Glad I also have a few old ones from the PA forum with me.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen
