introducing myself
Hi gi,
Thank you for the welcome. You are only 2 months out from open RNY. How are you doing? What was your recovery time like? I had Lap RNY and couldn't get over how quickly my physical recovery happened. Hope that you are adjusting to this new way of life. It is an awesome gift that you have given to yourself. Take good care.

Hi Donna,
Yup, I was amazed too, how fast I recovered. And it sure is a gift...maybe that is part of it? We get a real second chance...who wants to waste that! The "attitude of gratitude" does wonders...
I'm still wresting with old devils, like grazing, but this time I'm better armed for the task.
Thanks. Best wishes to you.

Well Donna,
The Welcome Wagon has given you just that, a great welcome! As I've said before this is a wonderful place where people's real personalities come shining through in the form of caring and support and over time it becomes like an extension of family.
Happy to see you here and as you well know, one of the best aspects of this journey are the people who speak our language and understand our thoughts and feelings. "Normal" such a funny thing that word, as Karen said, what is normal? Normal for one person is abnormal for another, so we have to come to define our own "normal" and that I think will take some time. Still wish there was an operation for the brain that went hand in hand with the WLS, that would make it so much easier.
Anyway, glad you're here and hope to see a lot more of you.
Hugs, Laureen

Hey Laureen,
Glad that I finally took you up on the invitation. Need to put myself out there a little more. Last week was horrendous in school and overall. I finally started to feel better after my Friday night Zumba class. Trying to do a lot of self care this weekend (mani-pedi; food shopping etc.) The nice weather on Thursday and Friday helped a bit. I could do without the horrible winds yesterday and the cold today. Oh well - it is staying light out longer so that means we are getting closer to spring. Have a good week and see you around on the boards. Take care.
Love, Donna

I guess I should maybe intro myself since this is the first time I've visited this forum - I am 52, mom to 5 great kids, "Grammy" to 4 adorable little boys, and wife to my high school sweetheart for 33 and a half years - where did the time go? Had my surgery almost a year ago - best thing I ever did for myself. I live on a small horse farm in NJ and can't wait for spring!
