Hi everyone;   First a big thank you too all *****sponded to my post.  Everyone has their very own take on this weight loss surgery. Finally got "the" call today.  I start on the Optifast diet on February 18 and my get my surgery March 18.  Someone from the hospital will be calling to give me the exact time to be in the hospital the day of the surgery. I thought for sure that I was too old for this type of surgery.   In 1996 I had 2 back surgeries in the L-one, L-two area and I have a bone fusion there. I also have arthritis in both my knees and feet.  Not too mention that as the weather goes so does my arthritis.  Everything I do revolves around all the aches and pain, Fall and Spring are the worse.  I live in Ottawa, Canada and there is a long wait on the list to get this surgery. I am hoping that this weight loss surgery will improve the way I do everything and my quality of life.   Again thanks to everyone   Agathe.

Agathe,
Only one month to a new life.  WooHoo.  Your arthritis will do so much better without the weight your joints carry now.  I'm glad you can get this surgery.
Hugs,
Bev

Congrats and you may find that some of your aches and pains will be alleviated as you lose weight.  Hope that is the case.

Best wishes, Laureen

I am scheduled for April 1 surgery. I, too, have mobility problems with back and knees.I am sure hoping that losing the extra weight will help my joints.
