Good mornin', ya'll.
Sunshine is coming! We're supposed to be in the 70's this week.
PT again today! I think my thigh muscles are getting stronger. I did call the doc yesterday for some pain pills. Don't wanna go as heavy as percocet, but need more than the 800 mg Motrin. He ordered Lortab. I'll see if that makes today's PT easier!
My DIL is making great progress with her crochet. I love to see when someone learns a new skill. She has made a dozen scarves and hats. She wants enough to give to co workers next Christmas.
I WILL finish the border for this afghan today. Then I'll sew it on tomorrow.
I am praying for all of you that are struggling. I am cheering for all of you who are accomplishing new things!
Have a fantabulous day!!

Good morning Carolyn and my friends to follow,

The weather here has been glorious and is supposed to stay that way for the next week or so. Everyone is anxious to get out and about after our cold snap and snow. The parking lots at the malls are jammed, and thankfully, my phone is ringing off the hook again.

Not much happening here. We went to a bar-b-que place for Gary's birthday dinner. I was so happy they had grilled shrimp! The meal came with grilled pineapple and green beans. What a nice change of pace from the usual fat laden meals you find at these Southern bbq restaurants.

My elbow seems to be getting better but is still draining like crazy. I'm changing the dressing about every 90 min to 2 hrs at work. What a gigantic pain! My torso is still so swollen that I can't wear my pre-surgery pants and it gets worse through out the day. By the time I get home if you poked me with a pin I'd fly around the room backwards!!!  LOL  Oh well, it will get better, but I'm just so anxious to see the final results

I don't think I'll be doing the daily food thread for awhile. As much as I enjoy doing it, there are only one or two people participating so it's kind of hard to get it going. I'm not upset that there isn't more participation, it's really OK!  Maybe later in the Spring the boat can sail again.

The gall bladder ultra sound did not reveal any stones and said the gall bladder looked normal -- okay then why am I in pain???  More tests tomorrow and Friday....

I have now joined the group "better living thru chemistry"  PCP put me on a low dose of celexa.....just can't seem to cope with all that's happening with my health.

Susan, are you still wearing a binder?? or spanx?  Seems like the swelling should be gone by now.....just sayin'

Thoughts and prayers for all my friends here -- I don't post much anymore, just not up to it.

Yup,, Spanx (well, the Target brand) every day, all day. The doctor's office and regular people I've talked to said it could take up to 6 months. From what I've seen from one gal at work, I believe them. She looked good after, but after 5-6 months she looked great.  Hopefully the timing will work out for summer!

Yes, I was swollen for a long time. I found that my binders helped so much. I also found that the more protein and water I took in, the faster I returned to pre-surgery size and lower weight.
Continued success.

Dear Pat,
You shouldn't be in pain, you deserve the best care.
Your pain could be from several things so have them really check you out.
Adhesion's, scar tissue, just old plain sludge in the gall bladder. Hope they gave you something for your pain until they figure out why you are in pain. Sometimes we need to be a little more forceful and yes even *****y to get the care we need. Hugs my friend! Debbie

PS and yes even people who don't or never had open incisions and get lap RNY can get adhesion's.

Pat, the ultra sound on my gallbladder didn't show any stones, but like Debbie said, I had "sludge" that was evidence enough for my doc to take it out. During surgery he found an small bowel obstruction that hadn't shown up on X-rays

Yeah, I'm on celexa (generic kind) ... seems my type of depression manifests itself through anger and meltdowns.

I hear ya about the pain ... have it daily. I have a ache lower down on my right side, and we've figured it is a bunched-up bit of mesh from my hernia surgery a few years back (pre-WLS). It flares up now and then. Cat scan says it's nothing to worry about, but it sure hurts like hell.

Hope they can figure out what's wrong. I know if I didn't have Juiette, I'd go a little crazier. She keeps me sane and happy. Makes me smile and laugh.

Dear Susan,
Hope that drainage stops or at least slows down soon....and the swelling goes down too.
Sending you hugs. Debbie
