OT: Afghans I've made
I know you do a lot of crocheting for your family and friends. Ahhh, you remembered my plan of having hubby give them to the grands in a few years. That way, my DIL won't sell them at a tag sale or consignment shop. LOL. Hopefully, DS will not let that happen and the grands will be old enough then to express that they want them. I would love to see a picture of the pillows you make for everyone. I'm not familiar with what they look like.
Old habits die hard and I don't think there will ever be a day when I don't eat. LOL.
Hugs,
Bev
Bev those are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! Wish I could make afghans like those!!! But I can't so I make the Daisy ones that I made from way back in the "70's! Oh well.
I am making each of my grandaughters one for Christmas and also one for my oldest son's girlfriend for Christmas. With my hands hurting and the weather cracks on the tips its going to take me til Christmas to get them done I guess...LOL

My MIL made those daisy afghans. We bought their home after my FIL passed away. I have found a lot of my MIL's craft equipment but I haven't found the daisy maker yet. I do have one of the daisy afghans she made though. She used all different colors of yarn.
The most difficult afghan I've made is one that has an 8" pineapple design border all the way around the afghan. It's very Victorian looking.
Have you heard of Bag Balm? They make it for farmers to use on cow udders. It's really good at preventing cracking of the skin. When my husband was a contractor he used it in the winter for his hands.
Working with yarn with cracked skin must really hurt. Not to mention any cleaning you do.
Hugs,
Bev
I used the bag balm especially when I did alot of stained glass. The acid flux and the solder burns wreaked havoc on my poor hands and at times, I couldnt even get my bra on because my fongers were so sore..and Id lay in bed at night wide awake because my fingers were throb from pain.
Fortunately, we live in the country and were often at the local feed store so that's where I found the Bag Balm. *s* It works! I'd put it on my hands and cover theme with cotton gloves (same with dried feet..slather on the Bag Balm then cover with cotton socks) and go to bed so it soaks into the skin all night.

Sounds very pretty!!! Musy be nice to be so talented!!!
As for the Bag balm yes I have heard of it. I used to sell alot of it when I worked at the hardware store back in Michigan. Carried alot of things there you wouldn't find other places. I haven't seen any of the green cans here but I did see the cream here somewhere can't remember where I saw it tho...grrrr
