Hello my new OFF friends,

What a wonderful post!  I just sat down and read every one of them.  This is a wonderful forum.  Such a lovely, caring group of friends.  I'm so looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you!

My Valentine's Day has been quiet because my DH is at work.  He works overseas in Saudi Arabia.  He's in the offshore drilling industry.  He did call me and we talked for an hour this morning!  What a treat!  Way better than cards or flowers.  He'll be home this Thursday, in time for my surgery next week.

I have to claim a small victory today.  Today is the first Valentine's Day in 53 years that I have NOT had a piece of candy!  (Or let's be honest--a whole box of candy!)  I walked through Wal Mart earlier this afternoon and I didn't even flinch.  Whoo hoo!  GO me!  Chocolate has always been my personal demon.  So, get thee behind me Satan!  I'm done with chocolate!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

Oh, P.S.  Grammylew--I'm a crocheter, too!  I can sit and crochet all day long!  We'll have to compare notes!

Glad to have you here! I also crochet. I just finished a queen sized afghan for a wedding gift. Now working on another one.

Wow, Nan, a queen-sized afghan!  That's quite a project!  Are you doing thread crochet?  I like to crochet baby things.  I've also make my share of afghans (although not as large as yours!), sweaters, socks, you name it.  I just love to work with yarn.

If any of you ever need a baby gift, just let me know.  I have a back log of baby sweaters, onesies, booties, caps, blankets, etc.  Always happy to have a new baby to crochet for!

When I got gallbladder cancer in 2009, my granddaughter and her cousin went through all of my crochet books and marked baby stuff they wanted me to make for their future babies. They are only 14. So I have plenty to make. Plus it seems our daughter always has a co-worker or 2 who is expecting. When I get tired of crochetting, I turn to sewing.

Happy Valentine's Day OFF!!!  My DH & I aren't much on this holiday like many of you posted but he did want to have a date night so we went to see 'True Grit' and then Mexican Restaurant.  It was nice to get out and to watch lots of couples together.  Love in the air.  I've been busy packing and cleaning house.  Got my bed lines changed, laundry all done, bathrooms cleaned, house vacuumed & moped.  Can't handle coming home to a dirty house.  So, South Georgia here we come!!  Can't wait...I get to spend some time with my oldest daughter & grandchildren!!!  My ex hubs is taking us all out to Dinner on Saturday night.  That should be interesting.  His first time meeting my new hubby.

Ok, got to get to bed.  Talk to you all soon!!!

I'm glad you have projects to keep you busy!  Baby things are so much fun to make!

I wish I had more babies to crochet for.  I tried selling some of my things on Etsy, com, but it's too much work to keep my "store" in the forefront.  I'd rather crochet than do e-store marketing.

I'm so sorry to hear about the gallbladder cancer.  Are you doing okay now?
