Just a quick good mornin' ya'll.
I have PT this morning, then a stop at WM on the way home.
I'm half done with this very intricate border for my white baby afghan. I'll be happy to move on to something else.
Have a fantabulous day!

Good Morning, All

I was up early, for me, this morning.  Before 7, which is almost unheard of.  Very windy last night, makes for lots of restless sleep.  Plus, the temp went from low single digits this past week to 45 when I went to bed at midnight, and the thought of flooding with all the ice melting was at the back of my mind.  Not that I've ever had the problem in this house, but a lot of ice melted overnight, between the temp and the 40 mph winds.  I can actually see the mud....er....ground now.  Wish I had bulbs coming up like Karen C, but it's way too early for that in my neck of the woods.  It's 41 degrees now, and still very windy.

Still gimping along here.  I drove the car to the little local grocery store yesterday and picked up a few things that I needed.  Total round trip was about 5 miles, gone about 1/2 hour.  It was enough to make me come home and elevate the foot for a few hours.  It did feel good to get out of the house
under my own steam, but took a lot more out of me than I expected.  I go see the doctor on Wednesday and we'll see if I was naughty or not.  He never said I couldn't drive yet....  It's my right foot, though, and I'm not pushing it.  About all I've done for the past month is schlepp around the house and it's getting old.  I just started walking across the road to get my own mail this week.  My neighbor has been a doll.  She doesn't get up really early and I miss reading my morning paper in the actual morning, but she's brought the paper and the mail to me every day.

I hate asking anyone for help.  Been on my own for a very long time.  But it's good to know I have people who care and actually want to help.  Me letting anyone help....well, that's another story.

Heard from both my boys yesterday.  Unusual, but very welcome.  Other than that, it's me and the cats.  They're good company, but it's tough to have much of a conversation....

Everyone have a great day.

I do seem to be doing very well. Sober 103 and proud of me.

HOWEVER.....I still OCD about everything. I have to say my 5 prayers in the correct order. Then I have to mentally go down the list of "what could go wrong" today, in a certain order with new what if's added. When I leave the house I do it all over again. When I get in the car again. Coming home again and on and on. Hey just to go for a walk with Yoda, like a few minutes ago, I start the whole thing again.
I have looked at this behavior and realize it started as a child. Don't know why, but thats me. Since starting this lifestyle it has gotten worse. Drinking made it worse.
Trying hard not to do this, but it must anchor me somehow or imprison me.
Glad you got out. That takes courage, I know. Sometimes weeks would go by with me not leaving the RV. NOT GOOD.
Baby steps lead to giant leaps.
Hugs, prayers, and good vibrations. Monica.....I know you all help sustain me and you all have carried me often.

Monica,

I'd like you to add one more list to your day. Put it anywhere you want to (Even up my butt if oyu want to!) Call it:  "A list of what could go RIGHT today!"  As long as you are concocting lists might as well add another one.

I'm so dang proud of you. You are sounding stronger each day. This from one little quivering spirit to another. I do realize how much courage you are using just to get up each day. You give ME courage to tackle my daily life instead of letting it tackle me. Thank you!

Congrats on letting someone help you for a change! I know that routine well. I love helping others, but it's hard to let them do the same thing. Realize that it makes your neighbor feel good. Just say  thanks sincerely and let her feel the  joy! I bet that little outing did wear you out but I'm sure it felt so good to get out of your four walls!

I got a couple of bulb and flower catalogs last week. Love looking at all of those goodies. Hope the temps stay up and that your snow goes away. We often get what we call Chinook winds. Warm winds, warm temps, and snow melting way too fast causing flooding. Hope you don't have to worry about that. Hopefully it will just melt into the earth, giving all of your hidden treasures a good drink to start their spring journey up through the soil.

Candy, Spring will arrive and when it does you'll be ready to get out there and move the earth! Hope you have a good day.

Hi grammylew, Monica and others to post later. Happy Valentine's Day.

Well I found out Saturday my SD Becca is having another baby in October. This will be her 4th and last baby. Went to see my other SD Amanda and her baby Holly after church on Sunday. Holly is a real cuddler and very content laid back baby. Amanda goes back to work on Wednesday and I know she's gonna cry some. At least her sister Becca will be taking care of Holly and she will have Loulabelle to coo with.

It's warm in Michigan today, thawed all the snirt and then when I went to my car, there was a glare of ice around it...almost fell on my tushy I tell ya!

Had 2 sad calls left here at work from my volunteers. One of my elderly volunteers passed away so I will have to make some phone calls, this is the hard part of my job, losing my elderly volunteers. I know Eula is in heaven having a grand time, but I was still taken back that she has left this earth. I'll just keep thinking great thoughts about how she loved to volunteer and help others. My other call was from an even closer volunteer, she had her dog Rudy finally put down. My hubby is making a cross for Rudy so Isla can put the cross in her garden. I kinda adopted Isla as my "Mom" she is 81 years young and volunteers and can play the piano that would have your feet just a tapping with her jazzy tunes. Yep, I wanna be like these 2 women who give so much to others.

So it's a beginning of a new work week for me and others. I can see some grass now that the snirt is melting. Spring is just around the corner and I can't wait for summer, to take my grandkids to the Yankee Springs and go play in the water. I love to play! LOL Hugs Debbie
