Good mornin' ya'll.
Saturday. Not a durn thing to do except my PT exercises 2 more times before bed.
Girl Scout cookies are on sale and I so want some thin mints and lemonaide cookies. So far, I haven't seen any for sale anywhere. My question is, should I just stay tucked up in my house today and stay out of trouble, or should I decide there is something I desparetly need and go driving around town looking for some GS cookis on sale?
Everyone stay warm and safe.
Have a fantabulous day!!

I just had an image of you pop into my head. This nice lady slowly driving down the street looking back and forth from one side of the road to the other in search of Girl Scouts.

take your own advice.....stay warm and SAFE. In other words, leave the cookies to those who don't care what the calorie/carb/sugar counts are!  LOL

Good morning Carolyn and all my friends who are still snug in thier beds.

Gary got up about 3:15( he's not a great sleeper) and turned up the heat. Well, sure, he was up, wanted to warm up the house. Only problem is, the heater wakes me up, then I get too hot and can't sleep. So, after tossing and turning, steaming and stewing, I decided to get up and start the day. Doing a load of laundry at 5:45 is just plain wrong. Oh well, I only have so many pairs of knit pants I can wear and since I have to work today, laundry it is.

I finally got to go to work yesterday. It took me a little over an hour to go 17 miles to the salon. Icy roads, most people behaving and going slow.....15-25 mph. But, I made it in and it was so good to see my friends and most of the clients got there for their appointments. Thank goodness!  It's been so long since I've worked I nearly forgot how to put my make up on....lol

Not much else going on in my world, and that's a good thing. Well, not much besides the infected arm, but that too shall pass.

Everyone have a great day!

MMMMM, thin mints and lemonaide cookies, hubby loves these. So try going on line to find a local troop and call them. Bet they come to you. Got that mental picture that Sue posted. Funny.

Good morning, Carolyn and all,

Up early at 4:20am....never able to sleep in...

Susan, I'm sorry your elbow is not behaving like an elbow should! Hope it starts getting better so you don't have to worry and can enjoy your brand new self.

Tom had a phone interview yesterday, which could lead to an awesome opportunity and JOB!!!!  I won't go into detail unless he gets further into the interviewing process.

Taking Bridget the dog to the beauty parlor today. It's a must. She has the longest, finest hair of any dog I have ever had. Didn't realize all the maintenance that she would need. I  brush her but she still gets big knots of hair and really needs a trim. Her coat is beautiful though and we love her so much. We only take her about every three months and do the rest ourselves. If Tom gets his job maybe we will increase her visits. Heck, maybe I'll quit cutting my own hair and go to the salon!!!! Oh, so many things on my wish list!!!!!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend,
Cheryl

Lap Band on 05/21/07 with
Hi Grammylew and all my OFF Friends,
MMMM Thin Mints, they are a trigger food for me.  Since I have the band I don't dump AND crunchy things go through my band better than doughy things.  Will definitely stay away from those.
Chemo was yesterday and even the strongest sleeping pill I have couldn't overtake the steroids.  So I tossed and turned, thinking way too much about "things" and then got up at four.  I am making an afghan for Hubby, very patriotic, red, white and blue.  He is very happy about that.  I was making it for someone else but when I saw the longing in his eyes, I decided to make it for him.  He is always checking on my progress because he can't wait till it's done.
Weds. I get an IV port put in.  It will be a lot easier getting my chemo in.  My veins are shot and it takes more than one attempt to get them hooked in and it hurts.  We got 250 lbs. of bird seed from Big Lots for $64.  That is $44 dollars less than what we get it at Home Depot for.  This bad winter has brought a lot of birds to our feeders.  We keep it in a large Army flour bin that Hubby's Dad got back in the WW II.  It is out in the garage and it's insulated and the hinged top weighs about 25 lbs. So nothing can get in it.
My boy and cub scouting family chipped in and gave me a beautiful gift.  A Kindle with $100 dollars worth of Amazon gift cards so I can buy books.  Amazing.
I gained five lbs in a week.  It may have been because at 12:20 a.m and 6:10 a.m. I drank two 16 oz. glasses of water in preparation for chemo.  They weigh me right when I get there.  I hope that is what it is.  Sometimes they say steroids cause weight gain.  The chemo drugs are starting to yellow my teeth.  Doc says I can use white strips to lighten them.
Otherwise I am doing OK.  I'm scared though.  A woman who I met at chemo when I first started has had a marked change in her appearance.  She has lost a good bit of her hair, she is walking sluggish, her voice is raspy and her eyes were darkened and she looked frail when I saw her yesterday.  When I first met her she had long flowing grey hair, a spring in her step, a normal voice and no dark circles.  I'll have to ask her how long she has been doing chemo.  I hope I'm a ways off from that.  I know everyone is different - but.
Well my feet are cold so I guess I'll go get dressed now.
Have a great day everyone.
Bev

Is there any kind of supplement that you can take to help you avoid the drastic changes that you saw in the other woman?  I googled  -  chemo + supplement + health  -  and found a number of sites. I'm not suggesting that you go against anything that your doctor says, but I am wondering if there might be herbal products that could help you avoid  any more problems.
I'm feeding the birds, too.  Poor things must be freezing and hungry!

Lap Band on 05/21/07 with
Hi Margaret,
Yes, I've been waiting for information on herbal supplements from a co-worker who went on disability two years ago for the same involvement of cancer in the colon and liver.  He also went to Germany twice for experimental procedures.  He does the microbiotic diet too.  He lives in R.I. so he is going to have his doctor recommend someone in my area to see.  Then I would have to run it by my oncologist.  I can also see the nutritionist/dietician on staff at the cancer center and talk to her about it.  Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm going to try it.
Hugs,
Bev

Our little Miss M is a Daisy (miniature Girl Scout) and her Mom the troop leader. They have completed the cookie sale and moved on to selling chocolate. Gramannette HAS to buy a bunch. Papa Tom gets to eat them. And hide them in a secret place. Stay Home  and don't go looking for trouble.

This morning I am meeting a support group member who is having a revision from lap-band to RNY. She has questions but is not ready to face the group.

Later I am going to see the M&M's. Mary needs some time to pack for their trip to Disney so the kids and I will find something to keep them occupied.

Tomorrow is the baby shower for my granddaughter. Mackenzie (great-granddaughter) will be making her appearance soon.

After that I am meeting another support group member.

Kisses

Sometimes when I least want to, I force myself to get out and stay busy.  It's not easy.  But after a while, it's not so bad, and sometimes it even makes me feel better.  Just keep on keeping on.

Tell Tom to lock the goodies in the trunk of his car.  And to hide his key.

It helps.

Love you.

Candy
