Happy Wednesday Everyone! What's new with you?
I am here at work, today will be my long day of the week, working until 6 p.m. this evening. I had a wonderful evening last night, Tony came down and we went to the Longhorn Steakhouse, where I had lobster tail and steak, though since he ordered the shrimp appetizer and it came with a salad, I only had some salad, shrimp and the lobster tail, so tonight's dinner is in the refrigerator at home. It was nice to see him, it was our 3 years together celebration and I have to say that he makes me smile like nothing else, except my grandbabies, well then there is Roxie too (lol), which is just another part of our love story and he told me that when he got to my house last night, she was just sooooo excited to see him, which is nice, because I always tell him, that she is "our" dog and he says, no, she is your dog, but then she does what she does last night and I know how tickled he gets with her reaction to him, but then again, they say animals are a good judge of character and so she would know what a good man he is. One last thing is she is too funny, when I came in the door, she was soooooo happy, but then I went to kiss Tony and she got right between us, she is very possessive of him (lol), but, of course, I let her know who rules my home (lol). . .
Ok, so it's a work day and I'd best get to it. . .

Good Morning Friends, It is so nice to start the What's New thread once in a while! Love all the messages in my in box. Busy week. Work, plumber after work (new house still have those things that go wrong!) Spray painted a couple of table lamps that I found at a thrift store. I love "repurposing" things. They are now an antique bronze with new shades. Probablly spent as much as if I'd bought new, but it was a fun little project.
Tomorrow I take some of the kids in my classroom on an outing with the "regular" kids to our local Court Club. They'll get to spend the afternoon swimming, rock climbing, exercising on all of the equipment. So I'll get my workout at the same time.
My daughter called as she was leaving work in Seattle yesterday to ask what we are doing this weekend. I'm hoping that means a surprise visit from the girls. Josh will be doing the tile in the remodeled farm house this weekend so I think she's thinking it would be a good time to slip over. It's a tough drive for her. Two almost 3 year olds, can't believe that and a teething(8 already!) 8 month old. . . I don't envy her the ride but sure hope that is what she has in mind. I haven't seen them since Christmas.

I'm sure you are out cavorting on that playground with your students right now. You will be so tired tonight! I had TOPS last night and got to see a good friend that has been very ill. She is one of our group that goes to plays- she has kidney failure (caused by a colonoscopy prep about 5 years ago), and was in the hospital over Christmas and the New Year for a peritoneal infection from the dialysis. Now her lymphoma from 10 years ago has come back. She is still very ill and I have bad feelings about this one. She could only stay at TOPS for a few minutes- she weighed and has lost 36 pounds in 2 months. She is so weak that she needs help with everything and I just know that chemo for her lymphoma will kill her. It's just a bad situation... I love her too much. Thanks for listening to my ramble. It's just on my mind.
Other than that life has been very good. I love my new dog, and my daughter's dog "Sookie" and "Roxy" have become fast friends. They have the occasional "misunderstanding"... but the good outweighs the bad one hundred fold.

Getting on here late because I kept trying to get on here and Explorer kept locking up. Kind of a pain.
We are supposed to get a big storm here today ... Ice, sleet, snow ... you name it, so everyone is panicking. So far, it looks like rain. It's 35 degrees here right now, so probably too warm for much to stick.
I have one more piece of paper to fax to the realtor for my condo sale. I hope this will be the end of it. I'm sick of faxing stuff, especially since I don't have a fax and have to pay for this at Office Depot.
My new glasses are ready, but I don't think I'll pick them up today ... maybe tomorrow. Or Friday. I'll have to see how long they're open tomorrow.
Well, I need to get into the shower and get lunch. Have a good day.
I am getting on here very late I had a lot to do in preparation for our trip tomorrow. We leave early and fly to Miami then board our ship for the southern caribean. I'll be out of touch until the end of the month. I probably won't have the stories Janet had to tell but I'll do my best.
