It's Sunday, SUP
Good mornin, ya'll.
My aunt and uncle came for a nice visit yesterday. The chicken thing I made in the crockpot went over very well. And so did the tres leche cake.
Today we will just hang. I'm sure there wIll be tons of Super Bowl stuff on TV all day. My DH and I will have our own little Super Bowl party.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!!

Good morning!
Boy, it looks like we have a bunch of sleepy heads around here today! I know I'm one, slept all night and didn't even get up to potty, which is a real treat. This is after a 90 min nap yesterday.
We're celebrating my son's 27th birthday along with the SB. I don't understand how I have a son that old when I'm only 35. Do you all feel that way too? Gosh, I just don't feel like somone who's about to be 56 (that number is ever HARD to say!) and I suppose that's a good thing.
We're due to get more snow tonight and off and on during the week. As much as I love being home and watching it fall, it's killing my business. Three weeks off for surgery and now this. Not only do I try not to drive in it, but the clients cancel at the sign of the first flurry. Our town just isn't equipped to handle all of this, so most folks just hunker down and stay in.
Okay then. The only thing I have left to say is GO PACKERS!!!!!

Well, Connie, that was not exactly a diet recipe. I put 5 taters, a bunch of carrots, and an onion all cut into chunks, in the bottom of a big crock pot. I laid the chicken on top, I used both boneless skinless breasts, and boneless, skinless thighs, big pieces. Poured over the top, a can of cream of chicken soup and 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup, half a can of half and half. Then spices, garlic, thyme, salt and pepper and anything else that sounds good. Crock pot on high for 5 hours or so, then I added some frozen corn and some frozen peas. Cook on hi for another 2 or 3 more hours.
It basically tasted like my favorite chicken pot pie without the crust.
It was rich and yummy. I didn't eat much, but everyone else had seconds.

Morning all...OFF...
Its just another Sunday to me. I really don't follow football, or *sorry George* baseball.
I'm making a beef stew today with parsnips, mushrooms and sweet potatoes. Last night I made the yummiest soup...
sauteed onion and mushrooms...asparagus tips, just a few, some peas ..some shrimp and coconut milk.
I have, in the last 2 months discovered that I have an allergy or sensitivity to all corn and corn products. My shopping has become a nightmare, but I'm learning. I used to use almond milk, but found that one ingredient used as a preservative "could" be derived from corn. SO I switched to Silk Pure coconut milk or So Delicious Coconut milk. OMG this stuff is so goood. Yummy on cereal or oatmeal and the soup,,,well it was warm and creamy and good. Oh I forgot I did thicken it a little with tapioca starch...can't use cornstarch.
Well off to finish my cleaning , laundry and then I have to get cooking.
Love, blessings and prayers to all.!!!!

Good Afternoon all!
Well, I got up too late to even try to make it to church, but got cleaned up got 2 double batches of cornbread made to take to the poker/super bowl party today. Going to go up and curl my hair and put a clean top on soon to get ready. I don't play much poker and don't really watch much foot ball, but will get into the spirit of the thing I guess.
We got about 10 inches last night, I suspect we have almost 3 feet on the ground now. Some guy I talked to yesterday on the road said that next weekend we are supposed to get 2 feet. Hmmm. Poor dogs are having a rough time getting out to do their thing now! LOL Daphne flounders in the deep stuff but jumps right in! I did take them for a walk yesterday afternoon and got my dining area curtains all done and hung! they turned out kind of cute! small print rosey red flowers with grean leaves on a yellowed background. have to sew up the door curtain and the window over the sink ones yet. Going to make a fleece bedspread too I think for the small bedroom. May make one for my bed too, who knows. quilt type thing I think.
That's it from me! who will win today? I say STEELERS!

Hi Carolyn and my OFF family:
I got up after 11 ... but then I didn't get to sleep til after 3. I got home sometime after 12:30 and didn't get situated to relax til nearly 1 a.m., so 3 isn't so bad. We had a busy night at work, which is good ... I want to know how all these people get Saturday nights off. I'd like to get Saturday night off, too. We had three people doing the Opelousas paper and four on Lafayette ... and boy, we were busy. Too many people off ... it doesn't work well. These furlough days are killing us.
We're having a Super Bowl party at work for those of us who work tonight. I made chili on Friday and so I'm bringing it into work ... this way, if they don't eat much, I'll have something that I won't feel I'll waste (like cake). I know I'll eat chili anyway. I have four containers of chili in the fridge that I'll bring into work and my slow cooker to warm it.
Already talked to my brother Gary and my mom. Mom has a colonoscopy scheduled on Wednesday ... she's all freaked out about it.
Well, I need to post this and get to reading my newspaper. Have a good day.

Went to our wonderful church early this AM. We are blessed to have found this community. Makes me happy. Sober 95 and proud of me.
We decided to call Happy Feet, Yoda. We say happy too often in this house and we were all getting confused. He didn't always respond to Happy, so we asked for some suggestions and our Alex, Gkid, age 8 really pushed for Yoda and we agreed. The name fits him. He is so cute, patient, cuddly, loving, and tries so hard to please. We lavish the praise on him and he loves it. He sleeps b/w us and snuggles right in. We got him a halter and he walks beautifully with it. Also likes the dog parks here, running, running and playing with other dogs. Nice.
Hubby has been crabby 3 days now and I just keep out of his way and don't say much. Don't know why and I don't ask.
Having thin thin crust pizza from Shaners for superbowl. There is a big party here, but we will not go.
Hoping the Packers win, but like that Steelers quaterback so I will cheer for both...not a cop out really.
Hugs to all..the chix dish sounds so delicious I will give it a try.
Thanks Monica

Good Afternoon OFF
Happy super bowl Sunday to all!
We don't pay any attention the big game. We simply aren't sports fans. I wish for a hard fought close score game because I think that might make it a great game for all who do enjoy it.
I have that chicken dish in the crockpot for dinner~~~ Hubby was invading my laptop and saw that post I had open and thought it sounded good. I have to be gone for 2 days helping a friend so he thinks I should cook for him before I go and this was the perfect answer for dinner tonight and leftovers for him!
Thanks!!!!!
Nights have been long on time and short on sleep the past week with our new little charge, shes a screamer. My angel Mary is keeping the kids tomarrow night while I am off helping someone so I get a whole night to sleep!!! Nothing after 8pm but sleep!!!
Hope all enjoy the game tonight~!
Prayers going up for all of you.
