Monica, Indeed you all do look so happy! Is Lucky too common? He certainly is to have found you! I'm sure you'll come up with the perfect name. Our Yorkie is named Maggie after Rod Stewart's song. My son named her, but I always think of my grandma Maggie when I call her!

Good morning, ya'll.
Yesterday, I went to the doctor about the pain in the thigh and the low grade fever I had the day before. He poked and prodded. Decided there was fluid in the hematoma. He drained off some and sent it for culture. Meanwhile, I am on antibiotics. If the culture shows infection he may have to go back in and clean it up. Oh, happy day! I am OK to use the cane, rather than the walker. I can also drive, if I'm not on pain pills, of course.
My aunt and uncle spend Feb in Myrtle Beach at their daughter's condo. They will be stopping by tomorrow for lunch. I'll put something yummy in the crock pot so I won't have much to do except visit. She loves to visit. Her Momma (my Grandma) was the same way. All she really wanted to do when you went to see her was 'visit'.
This morning I have to get my port flushed. That's clear across town and takes about 5 minutes. I'll be glad when the doc says we can get rid of the durn thing.
When we got a dog from the pound in OR, her name was Shimmer. We didn't like that name. So we experimented with calling her by different names until she settled on Sandy.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning Debbie and OFF family, Happy Friday!

Went to the doctor's yesterday, he has put me back on antivert and xanax for my dizziness. Only have to take the antivert at night before bed. I'll get through this nasty Mennier's disease and go into remission soon. I just hate being dizzy or have that "off feeling".

Last night someone knocked on our door, hubby answered it and it was a man selling Kirby vacuum cleaners. Guess who now owns a Kirby? Yep, I bought one for my birthday present. My Phantom vacuum was dying so I now I have a brand new toy! LOL Actually my hubby used it right after they left...maybe his new toy?

Everyone have a great weekend. My big plan is to try to come in for my Bariatric Support Group meeting Saturday. Will make the day of it, go to the gym, do some water aerobics and hang with my BFF and workout buddy Deb. Then after the meeting maybe grocery shopping. Take care and be safe out there with all this snow and ice. When you are on the corner and pulling out in traffic it's  hard to see people or cars in the country. The snow is piled high and we still have drifting problems...looking forward to spring that is for sure! Hugs Debbie

Good morning Debbie and my OFFer friends,

Debbie, I'm so glad you're enjoying your new life in VT. Gary's step mom, who lives in WI, has talked about moving there. She loves winter!

Looks like I'll be staying home today. It's starting to snow now and is supposed to turn to freezing rain later in the day. That means that the roads will be icy and too dangerous for this CA girl to drive on! My day tomorrow is very light, so I'll ask my clients to come tomorrow so we'll all be safe.

Went to the doctor's yesterday about the swelling in the elbow. He was stuck in surgery so his nurse drained some more fluid off of it and I'll go back Monday to have a drain placed for a few days. Wonderful. As long as they can bandage it in a way that I can still work, I'm fine with it. I've lost enough work as it is, and now with the snow.....NOT good for the savings account!

Okay, off to see about moving clients. Hope you all have a great day!

Hi Debbie, Friends!

I'm finally feeling somewhat human after spending the last couple of days in bed dealing with either upper respiratory or flu thing, low grade fever, congestion and feeling like I got hit by a truck, sent me to bed where I pretty much slept away Wednesday, yesterday was spent curled up on the couch catching up on Dog Whiperer episodes I had dvr'd and taking care of me, today I finally felt like taking a shower after, much needed after sweating it out all night last night, so I'm at about 75% today.  Thinking I might take myself to a matinee to see one of the movies I know Tony would not want to see, figure that would be a venture that gets me out, but not far from home. . .

Debbie, good plan to get yourself out, hard to relocate at a time of year when most people hibernate, at least in places that experience winter like you do.  I love the snow and they are talking about yet another storm next Thursday and traditionally, the weekend of Valentine's day and/or President's day are when we get a good storm, so we'll see, the groundhog predicted an early spring, we shall see, I am sure it will be welcome to all those who are tired of the winter of 2011.

Wishing everyone the best day possible, peace and strength to all those going through life challenges,  Laureen

Feel better Laureen,

A low grade fever makes high grade discomfort.

Good Morning,

Just a quick note. I'm alive, thriving, enjoying my temporary job. Also enjoy knowing that it IS temporary! I'm just too used to planning what I want to do and WHEN I want to do it. We've had sunshine and mid 30s this week. It's supposed to get up into the 40s today. Tulips are popping up through the ground. Hope they don't get zapped by a cold spell. Also looks like my forsythia is starting to bud out. Can you tell I'm out there looking for any signs that spring is on the way?

Debbie, I so understand what you are going through. It's hard to leave the familiar behind especially if it was a "good" familiar. I am, however, so happy that your new life is good and that you like your job, are making new friends, and love Vermont. I'd love to see that part of the country. Most of the states that I haven't been to are in your corner.

Best get in gear. I'm taking four special needs students on a community education trip this morning. We'll take the local transit system to Walmart. There we will comparison shop and purchase some things that I need. We'll write down the name brand prices and compare them to the store brands. My goal is to "save" us enough money that we can buy a treat to share with the rest of the class at the end of the day.

On Fridays if they have all of their work done they get to play educational games so that's when we'll enjoy our "free treat."

Have a great day everyone.

Two of the four are non readers, one is non verbal (autistic) and one is very difficult to understand but a sweetheart. Wish us luck and safety!

Good morning. This is the first time I've been on the over 50 board. It's nice to see friendly people without all the drama!

I'm home with the same cold/flu symptoms several of you have mentioned. I really hate to be out of work...I don't want anyone to think it's due to the WLS.

I learned recently that I will be a grandmother for the first time by early fall. I can't believe how excited I am. Now I need to figure out what I want my grandmother name to be.

Have a great day,
Cindy

Welcome Cindy, Jump right in and make yourself at home. I knew I'd love being a grandmother too but didn't have a clue how much!! We love hearing about each others "expectations."
