Hello Wednesday...still no blizzard...

Four AM, and the late cup of coffee combined with a really sore foot have conspired to wake me up and keep me awake for hours. I finally crawled out of bed to take something for the pain, and will be crawling back in shortly, hopefully to sleep till noon. A dream, I know, but hopefully I can sleep uninterrupted for a while. I've been waking up every hour since 11 pm and it's getting old. I don't usually have a problem; I don't know how so many of you manage to function on so little sleep.
I went for my 2 week checkup yesterday and he said I'm doing fine. Stitches were removed and just a light bandage applied, and I now have permission to take a shower. The sponge baths were getting old, but the best part will be washing my hair without having to be a contortionist. Ah, the feeling of warm clean water running over my body.....
Unfortunately, I couldn't elevate my foot for almost 4 hours, between the trip to the doctor and back and a few needed stops on the way home. My toes look like little fat piggies and my foot still hasn't recovered. Really sore tonight.
The threatened storm has not yet arrived. No wind, and the temps aren't too bad right now. We've gotten about three inches of snow so far since last night, but it's snowed every day for the last 3 weeks, so that wasn't a surprise. I'm hoping it blows by. You never know in Western New York. I'll be snug and happy in my cozy house. I'll just crank up the furnace and pay for it later, when the heating bill arrives.
Everyone be careful in this weather. And post away. I'm headed back to bed.

We in the Eastern/Southern part of NY are getting it all...
School was closed yesterday and they just closed it again...I am SOOOOO over winter. It can leave now thank you.
Nothing exciting going on here..I guess my grand daughter and I will hang out all day...I'm supposed to go to the chiropractor's but, that will wait till another day.

I just got back up, and no new snow. It's 32 degrees out, and though the roads have been plowed and sanded, it's gonna be slippery. If the temp drops at all, it's gonna be vicious. I live just south of Buffalo. Usually we're the ones who get the weather. Glad it hasn't arrived here (yet!).but I'm sure it will. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Good mornin', ya'll.
Yesterday I drove my DH to his Dr. and then a stop at WM. My DH pushed me, I didn't walk. I was fine. After being home an hour or so I took a pain pill with an option on a second. Took the second just before the PT lady got here. Sailed through the exercises. Woke up this morning in such pain! I can only lay on my back because of this dang surgery, so my back always hurts at night. But the hip also in major pain. Bandage stuck to my skin. My DH says it.s not too bad, some redness around staples. Even with a mirror I can't see it very well.
So, today, after applesauce and cocoa, 2 percocet and then one every 4 hours all day. Will NOT mention this to daughter or DIL. They will blame it on yesterday's driving! Our daughter threatened to get on a plane if I didn't behave!
Grrrrrrr! After, 2 shoulders repaired/replaced, years of hip pain, liver resection, gallbladder removal and many other cancer related stuff, last night's pain was right at the top of the scale!
I need a furbaby to snuggle with!

We had a good, happy night with Mr Happy. He is a cuddler and fit perfectly b/w hubby and me. I got up when I heard his happy feet on the kitchen floor. Waited about 10 min to see if he would let me know about his business, but he didn't let me know, so I took him out for a quicky.
We went out to play poker and to see how he's do alone. Happy did very fine, no problems, just lots of kisses and total body wags when we arrived home.
Traveling bra did fine yesterday, more errands today. A groomer comes here on Wed, so we will see if she can possibly make Happy more handsome as he does need to have his hair cut.
Thanks for all the well wishes. Happy is our 6th rescued animal, 5 dogs and a cat. This adoption process was the most involved and really quite wonderful. The entire staff....many many people were great and so supportive.
Haven't heard from my kids so I wonder if they have power since they all live in the area of the BIG storm.
I don't have a camera any more....gave them to kids along with my big memory card. Will have to see if I can find a cheap camera for photos.

And then, taking him out for a quicky.... Well, it's been so long since I've had fun with Mr. ANYTHING that you'll forgive my momentary lapse.. I hope.

Glad you and Mr. Happy are getting along. Rescues are wonderful. All of my cats have been rescues ... even though Diva was a pure-bred, she came from my friend's cat haven, Reuben's Room (60+ cats in one house). Kittle and Cinnamon, my first two, were from my editor's wife, Margie, in Montana ... rescued from the drowning in the creek. Juliette is the latest ... she is a joy and brightens all my days.

Ill come over with my camera and take a cute picture of happy for you and post it. but it will have to be sometime next week after I get back from Disney. I am braving the treads and taking my 3 and 4 yr old cousins with me to Disney for a day and a half. We are meeting up with cousins from Michigan. i cant wait.
Carl and I just got back from the bird fefuge in Sanabel Island. We made a day of it. I took some great pictures today. Will try to post some later.
I went back to work yesterday after spending a day inthe hospital when I was in Denver last week. I got back on thursday. i had low potassium. I am much better. i dont know why I am not storing my potassium but things are batter.

I am braving the treads and taking my 3 and 4 yr old cousins with me to Disney for a day and a half. We are meeting up with cousins from Michigan. i cant wait.

I'm so sorry your foot is achey... I'll not be calling... call when you get up and about.
Yesterday I accomplished zilch except that I got out on the ice and went to $4 and plugged into their wi-fi to see if could connect to my office computer. I could. I worked a little. Takes two tables, it's a small cafe' so it's not too condusive to working there. PLUS, when someone opened the door... yikes!! They closed at 4:30.
Rolling statewide power outages. Oncor is electronically calling to let you know if you're in it. So far, I'm not. However, I'm expecting that I'll hear from my company.. but since I've got my work computer at home... well, I'm working.
I'm floating in hot tea. All I've been drinking. Can't drink this much coffee or I'd be climbing off the walls..
I so empathize with my Sistahs in the North... God gives us these wintry days in the South so we can relate. Enough, already!!
