Hello, family! Just getting ready to hightail it up to bed..yeah, I know..at this hour?I have just spent that last two hours creating individual receipts and recording all details for each vendor that has already sent their vendor’s fees in for my Women’s Health & Wellness fair on Sat May 28th!   But now they are done, sent out to my Business & Professional Women's Club Treasurer and Vice President and to each vendor.  Whew! I am glad that’s done…so far!   More vendors will be sending in their application forms and cheques for weeks yet!  So far, I have sold  42 tables…only eight left to sell.  What a wonderful mixture of crafts, cosmetics, spas, clothing, hand-stamped silver jewelry,  healthy chocolate, Reiki, Mayan abdominal therapy, yoga, nutritional counseling, pranic healing, Law of Attraction, hypnosis, spiritual art, meditation, reflexology,  fun foods, candles, skin doctor, essential oils-Raindrop Practitioner, Bowen Practitioner, spiritual counseling,  iridology,  the Native Centre ladies to do singing, dancing and drumming, chiropractic health for women, psychic demo, books for fun and for education in alternative modalities, authors, feng shui,  handmade purses,  Dr of  Skin Therapies - botox, face & eye lifts, etc, Fitness Boot Camp, Passion Party, quality makeup reps,  spiritual healers, educational reps, cakes, and much more!  Add to that, I even bartered a table for a big "businesswomen networking group" in Toronto for media coverage all over southern Ontario!  Needless to say, I am very excited and pleased about how well this event is developing! I love creating such events! JB and Derek are still outside in the dark, snowplowing all of Derek’s huge business plazas…this is the third time they’ve had to do it all over in ONE day..they worked the entire night, Tuesday, slept four hours, went back out to redo it all because the high winds keep rearranging the snow, the snow keeps falling too and we are blessed with “lake effects”…40 centimetres of snow in one day.  Tonight is the third time to re-plow it all in 24 hours…some of the business plazas require BARE PAVEMENT....they are working on energy fumes and it's darned frigid out there! They also have to clear driveways for residents like doctors on call, the churches and small stores too.  I guess I’d better not complain about my COLD feet, huh?

All of my outside fur-babies are well-protected in special insulated “homes” built by JB and Derek, as many as ten cats in each box and some are even snuggling down with Zeus, my 175 pound rottie who doesn’t mind at all!

Inside, SillyRose aka LilyRose aka SillyHose aka BoogerNose (because she has a small black spot on her white nose), well,  she is just purring away, sound asleep and spoiled rotten! Mom’s nursing home is shut down due to Influenza!  Mom has a slight case –she had her flu shot months ago- but visitors are discouraged from being there so I call Mom daily and coax her to eat….they are all getting their meals in their own rooms where they are confined for obvious reasons…the staff is working hard, poor souls.  So I cannot even go to see Mom for fear of bring influenza back home ..that would be a disaster if Derek gets sick now…too many depend on his work!

Well, 4 am and JB just got home..apparently Derek has several more hours to plow with the heavy equipment, poor guy!

I’m off to bed..can’t go anywhere Thursday anyways… Keep warm…keep hydrated…keep safe!

Good morning, ya'll.
Nancy, sounds like many in your area depend on your dedicated men. I just love going to a good 'craft fair'. I know they call them craft fairs, but there is always so much more. So many creative people out there, and interesting products to see.
I am still having major pain in this dang left thigh! I am living pain pill to pain pill! Dopplar showed no blood clots. I had a low fever yesterday morning. My DIL reminded me of the awful infection I got after my liver resection. I go in to see the doctor this morning. He said I can drive if I'm not on pain pills. I am also cleared to switch from the walker to a cane. My DH will go with me. An extra set of ears is always a good thing! No PT today. Insurance won't pay for a doc visit and PT on the same day!
I sure hope all of you in the cold areas stay safe and warm! The news stories of cars stranded and roads blocked and people trying to cope are scary!!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

We survived the blizzard of 2011, but it is bitter cold this morning.  I'm off to work today -- it's only a 5 minute drive and I have my own parking place right close to the building, so I'm not worried.  They were open yesterday -- wonder if they actually had customers!

My hand is doing well, but tried to do a bit of shoveling yesterday on the front porch and my wrist let me know it quickly.  Now if I can get rid of the painful shoulder and discover if in fact my gall bladder needs to come out, I will be in half way good health.

Hope everyone is safe and warm.  Prayers and good thoughts for all my friends here on OFF.

Morning OFFers,

After a week of feeling horrible, I am seeing my PCP today. Therapist too. At this point, I'm not sure if the biggest problem is the mental crap,  physical junk or a combination of the two.

I had a complete melt down. Trying to keep a smiling face for Tom just got the best of me. I cried, ranted and exploded at him. He either starts talking about all this physical garbage he's going through ... or ELSE!!

Sure I'm supposed to be supportive but good grief, keeping everything inside is wearing me down.

In the past I would have turned to food. Now I sleep - hours and hours of sleep. Or I exercise for hours. Not very healthy at all.

I am off to the shower then to the appointments. Thanks for letting me unload.

Our Dearest Annette, Sure hope you can feel us all close to you. You are so very important to us. Your well being is upper most in our minds.

Please keep talking to us. Meltdowns can sometimes clear the air . Giving your loved ones an idea of how scared you are about their health.

Annette, please wrap your arm's around yourself, give yourself gentle hugs.

Please check back in later today, Hugs, Peg

Annette:

I'm famous for my meltdowns ... I have them at work. Or I wait until I get home and cry my eyes out. No one to hear me but the cat. You need some one to hear you, because Tom isn't listening. We're all here for you.

You do what's good for you ... exercise isn't all bad for a new addiction as long as you don't really overdo it. I wish I could turn to sleep ... used to being able to but now I can't because I don't sleep.

Men are notorious for not opening up (sorry George if you're around). My dad didn't ... had ulcers and cancer and high bp ... died young (62). Women are a little more open, so we expect guys to be the same. What can I say?

If you want to talk, I'm here. I'm off the next couple of days.

Big and Warm hugs coming your way Annette.  Meltdowns are always permissable...guys just don't understand that you can't keep ignoring the 2 ton  elephant (or 800lb gorilla!) in the room!  Guess that's why God made women AFTER men...knew he 'left something out' the first time (trying to make you at least smile!)  Proud of you for taking care of yourself and doing something for yourself ^_^
Keeping you in my prayers
