i cant stand Capsules!!! Ughhhhhhh

my Prilosec and my Actigall are BOTH Capsules... and they ALWAYS seem to get stuck right in my Chest when i take them!!!  i cant Gulp enough water to get them down so i keep Sipping and Sipping and Sipping and it Still Hurts...  does anyone have any advice for me?  WELL... the Pharmacist told me that they dont have any Tablets of Actigall so just open it up and put it in some food - i put it in a Container of Strawberry Yogurt and it wasnt that bad...

Lileee, Were you taking these capsules before RNY? I was so AFRAID of stuff getting stuck that I thnk I tensed up every time I had to swallow a pill for a while. My problem was long before it got to my pouch! It took me a long time to get over it but I did. I take a big hurking calcium citrate 3 times a day. At first I broke it in half. Now I just swallow it down. Some things you "just gotta do whether you like it or not!" Sounds like you found a workable solution. Have a great day!

I take capsules too and had the "getting stuck" feeling.  I've discovered through trial & error that if I drink hot coffee or hot tea while taking these capsules, they go down with no problems.  So you might want to give that a try.  Best of luck to you.

I still have trouble in this area and it is just because i can't take enough fluid to push the tablet through.  Some nights I am okay and other nights it just sits there.  I get the hot sweats, shakes and nausea so I just go and lay down.  I take my tablet at night for just this reason. Usually i end up going to sleep.

thats EXACTLY how i feel Jules...  it really feels like i cant get enough water in with a SIP to pu**** down...  the Prilosec is pretty small, so i can get That One down ok... but the Actigall is another story, and i have to take that one TWICE a Day!  but after talking to the Pharmacist yesterday, i started breaking it open and i put One in a Shake and thej other in Yogurt and i dont even taste it!!!  so thats GREAT!!! maybe you should try it that way!
