Good mornin' ya'll!
Well, today's colonscopy has been cancelled. I was unable to keep the dulcolax and Miralax down yesterday. Not sure if it is a band issue, or a flu issue? No fever or anything. My DH cancelled his, too. He won't do it unless I do. Hip surgery still on Monday! No matter what. So no colonoscopy til probably March. I'm so dissappointrd!
My CT scan showed no cancer and my oncologist said I was her miracle.
So, today, just take it easy and see what caused the tummy trouble.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!!

Sorry you weren't able to get that dreaded colonscopy done and over with. Will be thinking of you on Monday and prayers the hip surgery goes well and you have an easy recovery. It's so much better now than the hip surgery was 20 yrs ago when I had my first one.

Hugs,
Pat R.

P.S. Congrats on the cancer free report!

Miracles are good and this little group is certainly full of them, aren't we?  Sorry about not having the procedure yesterday, not that you were looking forward to it, it's just good to the those the heck out of the way!

Went to see my doc for plastics follow up yesterday. All steri-strips are off, sticthes out, drains still in
damn. Of course don't you know this morning the drains are very nearly empty, so I'm calling them today to plead my case. Doubt I'll get anywhere, but it's worth a try, right?
The incisions on my arms are pretty nasty, lumpy and bumpy, but he assures me that they will flatten out. I know he's very good at what he does and I'm not doubting him, it's just a little hard to visulize them looking good right now. However, if I don't lift them up they look GREAT!  Belly's nice and flat, still pulls a bit to stand up straight, but I think after the drains are out it will be smooth sailing.

Gary's interviewing for a new postition with the State today. It will take him away from working directly with the drug court participants and into administration. Considering he has a law degree, it's a better fit, and doubling his salary wouldn't hurt either. So, say your prayers, incantations, swing chickens and think good thoughts for him please. I'm staying out of the whole thing personally. Of course, I'd love to see him use his education and make more money, but I want him to be happy and make the decision himself without pressure from me. Keeping my opinions about it to myself isn't easy!

Love you guys, see you later !

Hi Susan,
You sound like your recovering great from your plastics. Rest, take it easy and don't push too soon. I'll keep your hubby in my prayers, making the right choice for his career. Change is hard and scary sometimes. You are so right to just give him support and let him make this choice for himself. Just keep telling him he is great and would do wonderful in whatever he decides.

Hopefully you will get those drains out soon. They are not fun at all. Hugs Debbie

Grammylew...you are our miracle!

Happy Friday OFF family and special hugs to our grammylew.

Oh my the ride into work from Hopkins was an ice rink indeed, lots of cars off the road, one was on it's side, more wrecks will come today, it's so cold outside. I was driving 40 on 131 most of the way, anything faster is asking for trouble!

Hubby won 4 tickets to the Wings Hockey game for Sunday in Kalamazoo. I'm not into hockey, so he is taking our daughter, her hubby and Rozzie our 8 yr. old granddaughter and I will babysit Loulabelle and stay warm! I'll watch the football game and enjoy one on one with Loulou.

Take care, I'm looking forward to my weekend. Hugs Debbie

Good Morning;

Congrats on the CT scan!!!

I slept in this morning till the snow ended and I heard cars going up the street.  I'm now showered and ready to go out and clean off the car to go to work.  I can't take my usual route on the side streets today, so it will be annoying taking I95 from my house to get past center city Philadelphia.  I usually take side streets and get on one exit before Center City so not so much aggrivation as taking it the entire way south to work.

Will be in work till 4 or so, depends on what I accomplish and how tired I get as the day wears on.

Gene sees clients today and tonight, a lot cancel when it snows so he might actually beat me home today, and if not, I'll be sound asleep before he gets home.

Stay warm and drive safely for those that have snow/ice.

Good Morning Everyone,

Back again for a quick hello. Looks like I'll be working more than planned the next few months. I'll be filling in for a special services classroom aide who may be retiring. She's almost 70 but I think it's been her whole life. She is having back problems and gest short tempered with the kids. Pain will do that.

Anyway I was asked if I was available. I said yes with a few exceptions. Two one week trips planned the end of Feb and April. If they were okay with "a sub for the sub" I would do it. It will be nice knowing where I am going each day and I enjoy this position. I find that I am more patient with students who have very limited abilities than I am with those who can do but won't and don't! I tend in my "seasoned years" to say a bit too much! What are they gonna do, fire me? So fire me!

Anyway I have to be there at 7:30am each day stay til 2pm. Gym clothes are packed and I plan to go directly from school to the gym. It won't be crowded yet so no more excuses.

I have a plastic surgery consult the end of March in Seattle and want  to condition and lose some of that nasty regain before then. I can do it I just MUST do it! Also thinking about having the baggy arms done at the same time tho I don't know if that is a possibility or not.

Sending positive thoughts to you all. I'm always so DELIGHTED  to see the last week of January arrive and even more so to see it go! Bring on February and the hope of springtime in the northwest. We usually get some gorgeous spring like February days.

Must finish lunch, get some breakfast and get in gear. You all have a great day.

Hi Carolyn and my OFF family:

Sorry you weren't able to get the colonoscopy done ... I know when I had mine done, I told the GI guy I had gastric bypass (he was affiliated with the same physicians group as my bariatric doc, so it worked out well) and they gave me a special pre-op clean-up routine, so to speak. Didn't have to drink the big jug of yucky stuff, just take a couple of pills. Still pooped a lot, but it wasn't nearly as bad. Good luck on the hip surgery.

Yesterday was furlough day, today is regular day off. It's sunny but cold ... yesterday was dreary and cold. I went to the new chiropractor ... like him, although not as much as I liked the guy in Grand Rapids. He told me my MRI shows my discs are now bulging, not just compressed ... ugh! Didn't know that (although the pain clinic office might have told me that, just couldn't understand the accents sometimes. So anyway, yesterday they just did heat and stim (stimulation) and a little manipulation.

Then I went to see "The King's Speech." A marvelous movie ... reminded me of how wonderful my speech therapist was when I was in fifth grade and how much she helped me. If you haven't seen this movie yet, please do. Colin Firth, who was always one of my favorite actors, is fantastic as the king.

So today is payday and I have some running around to do. Then laundry and just hanging around the house. Not much else. I did too much yesterday (I was kinda pooped yesterday so I went to bed early ... now I'm too tired ... I even forgot to take my vitamins before bed last night ... I never forgot those!)

Have a good day.

"The King's Speech"... My absolute favorite of this year (and I'vs seen most of the contenders). I might be prejudiced by being a speech therapist, but it was fantastic!
