Good morning one and all!

Deb, you sound so happy in your new life, sure hope it continues to be a positive move for you.

Wow, I made it through the first week after plastics!  This has been a really rough one, much, much worse than my RNY. I see the doctor today and PLEASE keep your fingers crossed and swing some chickens that I get these damn drains out. His nurse said that it's possible, but none of their bariatric patients who have had TT got drains out before 2 weeks. Of course, I take that as a nice little challenge, not that there is anything I could do to speed things up...lol.  I did pretty much stay in my recliner all day, took two naps.

We're supposed to be getting some more winter weather in today. Never as bad here as it will be once it gets to the North Eas****ch out!!!!

Okay, off to see how my Neversink crew is doing. You all have a great day. Special thoughts going out to Candy for her surgery tomorrow!!

Susan, how do you like your plastics guy?  I was going to use one up here; however, I was talking to a lady who said that she used him and his staff is really rude.   I am shopping for this summer.

Hi Jeannie,

I love Ed Love...lol

Honestly, he comes into the exam room, extends his hand and says "Hi, I'm Ed".  He took a long time with me, I was always encouraged to either call or go in if I had questions prior to surgery, and he was very nice with Gary. His staff has been great too, although there is one gal in the office who I'd like to take back to the salon with me and fix her obnoxious hair color!

It's hard to tell right now what the outcome will be because of swelling, but so far everything looks great. It's a little freaky for me to look down and see this flat belly considering I was fat all my life and never, ever had one before. But even swollen, I'm super happy.

Ed has a brother who is also a Plastic Surgeon, could that lady have meant him? Can't tell you his name off the top of my head, but I think his office is in North Little Rock...again, not sure.

He has a website: edwardjlovemd.com if you want to check it out. From what people ( medical types, even a friend to is a cosmetic surgeon) say, his rates are quite reasonable. My TT and arms were $6600, not including the pain pump and the OR fees.

Let me know if you come down this way and we'll have a sweet 'tater!

Okay, one more question:  the 6000 for the surgery.  What was the OR fee and did you spend any time in the hospital?  I really think our insurance, once it kicks in, will pay for my upper body because of my ruptured disk that the doctor said is related to the arm and breast flab.  I know!  I would be happy to just get that part done for now.  But, if I can get it all done at once, well, why not?

Here's the breakdown from my paperwork:

abdominoplasty      3850.00
brachioplasty           2500.00
pain pump                  250.00

total surgeon's fee     6600.00

Facility Fee               1260.00
Anesthesia fee             897.00

total                           2157.00

grand total                   8757.00

Surgery time was about 3 hours, about the same amount of time in recovery. No hospital stay.

Now, I don't know how many procedures a doctor will do at one time, so much depends on so many different things. I was originally going to do the TT and breasts, then switched out the arms for breasts.

Good morning Debbie and everyone....

Too much pain to chat much today. This bitter cold weather is causing my Arthritis and Fibromyalgia to flare up something awful. I have been taking Vicodin and Flereril and it just isn't lasting long enough. I can't remember it ever hurt for this long at a time. I am sure all the stress I am going through isn't helping it either.

Wishing you all a great day.....prayers for so many in need...special ones for Susan, Bev, Monica, Margo and Grammylew....more too but my list isn't near by.

Love and hugs for all....connie d

Dear Connie Girl, I'm sorry you having such a fight with the cold weather, I think you are right about the extra stress not being the best thing for you. Dress as warm and comfy as you can .  I hear Spring is on it's way. Warm hugs, Peg

Hi Debbie and my OFF family:

The damp weather here is making my arthritis and fibro flare, too (Connie, I do understand). No rain yet today but it has been gloomy the past few days, although now the sun is coming out. I am on furlough today ... off without pay ... and have an appointment with a new chiropractor today, hoping to get some relief somehow. Now that I have an FSA account I can use ...

So I need to get off my butt and get in the shower. I'll check back later since I'm off I can play on the computer. I'm thinking of going to see "The King's Speech" today. Have a good day.

Hi Debbie G. and all my OFF friends,
My BFF Linda is coming to bring me lunch today . . . some of her homemade clam chowder, yummmm.
We are being told to expect 5 more inches of snow between tonight and tomorrow.  I'm hoping that won't derail my oncologist appt. for the results of the CT scan.
I've not been making good food choices lately.  I need to get back on track with that.  And I'm doing no exercising.  I've been meaning to order an exercise dvd recommended by my nutritionist at the cancer center.  I need to get on that today.  I haven't gained any weight but I can feel the difference.  Before WLS surgery, I was overweight but I also felt awful.  It's not so funny that as soon as you start eating stupid you feel that same kind of unhealthiness.  I don't want to go there again.
Hugs to all having surgery and recuperating.
Bev
