Surgery over!
Thank you everyone for your good thoughts.
The doc said today would be the worst day of the recovery, pain-wise. I've been waiting all day for the nerve block to wear off and the pain to start. So far, nothing. I can feel my foot when I touch it or step down (very lightly, as instructed), but no tingles and definitely no pain. I have all this good pain medication that he gave me, and no need for it. I hear the street value of Lortab is pretty good, but that's just not my style.
Not bored yet. Lots of DVR'd stuff and movies and crocheting and reading. All without guilt for being lazy. Cool.
I'll keep everyone posted. 'Cept Thelma, who leaves for the Luv Boat tomorrow and will be far too busy chasing Murray to think of poor Louise sitting home, all alone. At least it should be warmer on her trip than the 27 degrees Dallas had this morning.
