Glad everything is okay on the boob front.  Your git to gitting comment from your grandmother made me think of something my mother said her gradmother said.  Don't know where this train of thought came from since the subject matter is very different but who can explain how my brain works anyhow?

My mother said during the depression they did not have a bathtub or shower and had to bathe in a wash tub.  she had overnight company on night and my grandmother asked if they had washed up.  My mother said they told her they had started at their head and washed as far down as possible and then started at there feet and wash as far up as possible.  My grandmother said. " I sure hope you washed possible".

That is funny Linda, my mom always used to say to my sister and I "pull your skirt down or pants up (or whatever) you can see possible!" If we weren't sitting ladylike she'd say "girls! I can see possible!"

We never touch people so lightly we do not leave a trace.

Hi Debbie and my OFF family:

I read about your furnace on FB; glad it's getting fixed. That happened at my condo once, but the furnace was under warranty. I still had my little Amish mantle fireplace, too, so it kept us warm for a while.

I had a Subaru once; it was a wagon, four-wheel drive on demand. Loved it; only reason I got rid of it was the head gasket blew on New Year's Eve 1996. That's when I got my Honda Accord, which I still have.

Not a whole lot going on over here. It's still cold but it's sunny ... 35 degrees. Got down to the teens overnight ... so why am I having sweats at night and waking up gagging again? Aaarrgh!

I got some of the decorations down yesterday, now today I hope to get a few more down. I don't think I'm going out today other than to get my mail. No money to spare, so just going to the mailbox, mail back my Netflix DVD ("The Duchess" ... very good movie) and then come back and relax and keep putting things away. I need to make sure my Easter stuff is near the front so I can get to it quickly in a couple of weeks.

Well, that's all. Have a good day. Monica, congrats on 71 days.

Hi All

I just got back from my doctor appt for medical clearance for my foot surgery next Thursday.  I'm SOOO looking forward to over a month being virtually housebound.....  NOT!!!  But I'll live with it.  I have everything set up for my convenience while I'm not allowed to walk around much.  I wish I could train the kitties to clean their own litter boxes.......

Yesterday my (ex) brother-in-law came over and made me 2 shelving units for my garage, so I can store more things in bins and not all over the floor of the garage.  It's too cold out there now to do much reorganization, but I'm looking forward to things being easier to get in the Spring.  Of course, now I'm eager to get started arranging things, but at 20 degrees in the garage it'll have to wait.

So happy sistah Susan is done with her surgery and on the way to recovery....

And Monica, congratulations on 71 days!

Candy

Aloha OFFers extraordinaire........This is a strange and wonderful day. I am housebound!! Usually I can report beautiful weather, 80 degree temps. etc. NOT TODAY! The past few days it has been storming and roads are closed all over the island. Thankfully I don't have to work at the hospital until tomorrow morning. One of the condos on my street flooded all the first floor units...what a mess. The road is now closed.

You all share so much daily and I feel guilty reading and not posting. So much happening in all our lives. This Sunday I leave Maui for Santa Cruz to again take care of my 3 litte grandsons (6, 4 and 2) for five or six days. I'm wolfing down vitamins so that I can keep up with them....Ha. This will be a great day for me to work in my house to get it clean and ready for my sis in law who will be coming to kittysit. It's amazing how long it has been since I saw the BACK of my cupboards.....since I took everything out, washed, and organized. I know I have a big family of geckos living in my house. I don't see them very often because the kitties have gecko radar and pounce as soon as they see movement. But, in my cupboard, I have LOTS of their little calling cards.......look like dark brown grains of rice.

Monica....how excellent you are doing....and you are sounding so up and happy. I love it. Margo you are a bit mysterious, but I have a feeling your life is on the upswing...I sure hope so.

Debbie...it's so good to see you back here again. When I do come in it's like jumping into a warm pile of puppies...so warm, welcoming and loving.

I'm calling the transportation cops on you, Janet....you keep running that ship into the shore...especially when it's close to a $4!!!

I'm sending my aloha to all of you faithful OFFers. It is truly a magical thing that happens here. Please forgive my absence. I'll try to do better.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Aloha Karen....Thanks for the morning belly laugh! Maybe I'll let Poki and Nicki get a little hungry, and maybe they will go on a major gecko hunt!!

Aloha nui loa,

Don't know if your town has hotels but if it does your landlord should put you up for the night if the furnance is not fixed.  I have had that happen.  I rented through an agency which made it easier but I got the choice of X amount off the rent or a night in a warm hotel.  You shouldn't be freezing to death.  Hope you get toasty warm soon.
