Floods
I am sure most of you have seen the television coverage of the devastating floods here in Queensland, Australia.
I can't begin to say how grateful I am that I live where I do. There is flooding north, west and south...in fact all around us. The worst of the flooding here is still to come. We have 2 major cities that are still to be flooded. One will happen in the morning and the capital city of Brisbane will flood the next day.
The loss and damage to the people of this State is enormous but having been through one national disaster (cyclone tracy in 1974) I know from experience that this is a time when the human spirit takes over. This is when we get to see humanity at its best. People will pull together and unite in a common goal. Friendships will be made that will last a lifetime and hopefully not too many more lives will be lost.
Just wanted to share a little of how I am feeling. Today at work I fielded phone calls all day from people who were ringing up wanting advice. Some of the calls were so absurd they were funny and some were terribly tragic.
I heard somewhere that over 2/3rds of the State of Queensland has been declared a disaster zone. If you look at the map below you can see a map of Queensland with Texas inside it and that will give you an idea of the massive size of this flooding.

I am praying tonight for the safety of all those still to encounter the floods.
Goodnight everyone. Be safe.
