WHAT'S NEW SUNDAY!!!
GOOOOOOD MORNING!!!
1:45 a.m. here in Tejas Land. We're supposed to have freezing rain and snow.... don't get yer panties in a wad.. it won't be over the soles of our shoes... well, okay maybe it could. When Louise and I were on our cruise last year I missed the biggest snowfall we'd ever had, I think.. ... 12 inches in one day!!
My granddaughter called to see if she could come over tecnically LAST night but it was really tonight..... anyway, she learned something about her Grammy... she didn't know I could oil paint. She had been over at my sister's and saw a picture I had done for my mother. One of the last ones I painted. Anyway, I got a $100 gift card from my son at Christmas to get supplies to paint again. I did.. but hadn't. Well, tonight I hauled out one of the hard canvasses and Kara picked a picture.. it looks like her dog. So I sketched in on the canvas and told her she'd have to learn to paint it in oils. She's really excited. Now if her mother will realize the gravity of this and keep the damned painting for posterity, we may have something here. I'm going to teach her to oil paint. I'm adding it to my bucket list.
I guess I'll go back to bed. There's another Law & Order coming on in 4 minutes... sheesh.. well, it keeps me out of the refrigerator when I can't sleep..
Post on, my slightly OFF family...:)
Janet
Well, good morning, my artistic diva friend and all those to follow!
I am experiencing yet another strange sleep cycle...I understand it's a small price to pay for being cute and sexy!
It's 3:30 am & Derek should be home soon from his 7pm-4am shift at the club, will come in, change into a different set of working clothes and go out to snowplow and salt & sand his business plaza client properties. I expect he will get back home sometime around 10-11 am Sunday. We had quite an intense and unexpected "lake effects" blizzard-type snowfall here...darned bitter cold too.
This morning, i had to go out and buy barley for Mother's soup...and just accidentally stopped by a favourite ladies wear shop...oh my, they have a SALE! They had just completed their inventory and all garments with an orange tag had been marked down at half price. BUT after inventory, I was able to get inside at 10 am and was told that all half price items with orange stickers were NOW ANOTHER HALF PRICE! *swoons*And so, I came home with 6 pairs of quality panties (black), a pink silk shirt, a purple top with sequins, a black blouse with sequins and open shoulders and sleeves..very elegant looking, and a long red nightgown with sleeves because I'm always so cold...on the front it says "grumpy but gorgeous!"....all for $70.00! So I was a happy camper!
I got home and made a huge pot of beef/vegetable & barley soup so I have lots to take to the seniors' home for Mother this afternoon.
It seems that I suddenly have four new clients for LifePath groups..I have to organize that and get the classes started quickly since JB and I are always away for a month in March/April...and that's another incentive for me to stay on the straight and narrow...vacation trips are so much "easier" when I'm not carrying around all that excess weight.
Lucky you, Janet, to have a grand daughter..I'm still waiting...and it's looking less and less likely all the time. It's not easy being a grandmother to five cats all named after POWER TOOLS!
Nancy B
I had to laugh when you said your grand-cats were named after power tools. I have a son like yours. I'm surprised he hasn't thought of it.
He HAS named all his vehicles, though. He has many, many of them scattered over his 3 acres in Tennessee. I guess they're all female.
He has definitely succumbed to the redneck lifestyle. Not necessarily the Southern lifestyle, but let's just say he'd fit right in with Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy....
My other son is a yuppie. I'm told it evens out. Sigh.....
Candy
I feel like I have dozed off and on most of the day and am kind of awake now. I think the bed is calling my name however......deeebbbbbiiieeeeeee can't you hear it?
Took the dogs for a walk today, kind of chilly but we all enjoyed it. They went shopping with me too, got some pretty fabric to make curtains at the windows in the dining/kitchen area, stopped and got a new iron at another place and then stopped at the final place to get a chew bone for the dogs.
well, I think a cuppa tea, bit of a read and bed now...it's almost time to get up! Very "not doing too much weekend" here!
It is so sad to think of children who are deprived of the love and knowledge of their grandparents. We have a son with a second wife and grandchild that we have never been involved with. Long sad story!
It is going to be a lovely sunny day here. BUT maybe some snow later. Snow on weekends is so much nicer. None of us have to be anywhere so no worries.
My cousin lives in IN and South Bend got a record 34" in one day!! She has video on FB of her poor DH trying to snowblow the driveway, as it continued to snow!
Yesterday we saw our son for the first time in a week. He is on a review board investigating an incident at his work and has been at work 4AM to 6 PM every day. He is so stressed and looks like he
has lost a ton of weight. It should all be back to normal by the 20th.
He usually stops by here for a salad for lunch every day.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
