Yes, Mom was on the floor for several hours in her apt and we didn't even know until she was at the hospital and admitted and in her room several hours after she went by ambulance. They only live less than a mile away. She didn't want to call us or push the button that is in all of the rooms that would alert the security. After crawling around on the floor and taking some "little naps" on the floor, she finally called 911 and they came. Her first time telling me was that she "slipped out of bed and just couldn't find the phone for about 20 min." now we know it was much worse. We tried to get them to let us arrange some help but they said "NO."

That is really nice that you were able to do that for your FIL.
I think we'd all kill each other if we lived with them or they with us.
