Good mornin' Margo and all to follow.
Margo it is so wonderful to hear you so positive about your life and your future. Good thoughts attract good thoughts. Keep it up.
I have been procrastinating! I have the pirate costume cut out, need to mark the pieces, cut out the lining and interfacing and get to work. It is gonna be complicated. Not something I can't do, but I know when I start, I'll be consumed for days.
I also have a crochet afghan going. That I work on in the evening while we watch TV. For some reason I can't just sit. Drives my DH crazy!!
I see the new iPad has a camera and can Skype!! I hate not having the NEWEST technology!!
Everyone have a fantabulous day.

Good Morning Margo and all,

Well today is jean day at work and because I did the 5-day test they feel very comfortable compared to the last time I wore them!

Hopefully, today the hospital will transfer mom to the same care center/rehab even maybe the same room my dad is in right now. He is very lonesome and was having her there all day anyway. Fingers crossed, it would also be easier on my sister and I and I think they both would be more likely to be compliant with their care and stay longer so they can be as strong as possible before they go back home.
Hope, I hope, I hope!!!!

I plan on a relaxing lazy weekend...after I head to Walmart (yuck) after work for groceries.

Take care all, and thanks for being here!

Margo - it's nice to read that you are looking forward to attending classes and are having a good time with your new kitten.  Nothing like little furry ones to make us feel better!
I'm off to work in a few minutes to finish up  the paperwork for the new semester.  I have one new course to teach with lots of prep work and a text book that I am unfamiliar with, so the next few weeks should be interesting.
The condo is ready to be rented (well almost) and I have an ad in the paper tonight and tomorrow.  I'm hoping to get it rented quickly to responsible, clean people so that I can just sit back and  rake in the money - ha!  -  we'll see how that goes.
Have a great weekend.  Prayers and good wishes for all who need them.

Good morning all

Margo - do go to the rodeo if the weather permits.  I love the rodeo and I am already checking the dates for the Houston rodeo.  It runs from March 1st  to the 20th.  Tickets go on sale in a few days and I buy tickects for the days I want and schedule the rest of my life around it.  I also love to go to the arena and watch the horse shows.  Not into that English stuff much but love the western.  Last year I realized they have all the events for donkeys as well.  I like the raceing ones like pole bending and barrell as well as the cutting and roping ones.  It is boring if you don't like that sort of thing because it takes longer to set up the events than it does to run them.  I also like the sheep dog herding competition.  Man those dogs are smart.

Grammylew.  Technology is getting to be beyond me.  Too many bells and whistles.  I will admit that I enjoy using what I understand but I am limited.  My laptop has a camera on it and I just bought a camera for my daughter to mount on her computer so we can Skype.  Tried it the other night and she and the grands could  see me but I couldn't see her.  Problem is on her end so I hope she gets it resolved.  My 3 and 5 year old grandsons were amazed to see Nana in the computer but  I could only hear them.

Today I go to the women's retreat with my church.  It should be fun.  It will be a little different than the usual.  There will be bible studies and devotions but also fun time.  There will be breakout sessions and a choice of activities from jewelry making to board games.  It will be near Brenham and a trip to town was another option but it looks like we will have rain  and the temperature will drop so I am opting for something on campus.

I a m asking prayers for my son.  I don't usually share these things but he is in need of all the prayers he can get.  He hurt his back and is in a lot of pain.  He started a new job 90 days ago and was to be eligible for insurance on January 1.  This happened over Christmas and the insurance says he has to wait until the next enrollment period.  That is not until August.  In the meantime he has to be totally off wor****il Jan 17 and then must have therapy for 6-8 weeks.
At least his employer is holding his job.  This has happen to him Once before and the employer was not so nice. He was out of work for nearly a year.  He is a frugal person and has always managed to keep his head above water.  The first time he had enough savings to get him through.  A couple of years ago his company nearly went out of business and laid off nearly everyone including him. He  was eligible for unemployment and that  kept him afloat.  He finally found work and worked for nearly a year when that job slowed down and he decided to look for something else.  That was 3 months ago.  His employer is willing to let him work day runs while in therapy if the doc allows.  that is all good.  Unfortunately his work is what aggrevates his back.  He drives an 18 wheeler and the doctor said he needs to find a new career.    It is hard getting facts out of him, he doesn't like to ask for help.  I don't think he has enough savings to cover expenses and the accumulating medical bills.  I'm not so worried about the money.  Between his dad and I we can get him through.  I worry about his medical condition and his future.  He is looking at schools to see what else he can do.  The main problem is he has no passion for anything particular.  So prayers of healing and guidance are asked for.  Thanks.

I am doing the 5 day pouch test and it is going well.  Didn't think I could do it but here I am at day 5.  I have lost 7 pounds and do not crave the carbs.  Wonder how long that will last once I get back to eating a variety of foods.  I will make healthy choices I will.( spoken in whinny voice)

For someone *****ads but rarely posts I have been long winded today so I'll quit and get on with my day

Linda:

Your daughter might need to download some more software ... I had to download DirectX software to make my webcam work on my laptop and it's a fairly new laptop and webcam.

Sorry to hear about your son ... I sure know what it's like to be without insurance and in pain.

Hi Margo and my OFF family:

I knew the kitty would come out ... moving in is traumatic and they take some time to get adjusted to new situations and people. Some just take longer than others. Juliette took two days and then was following me around; Scooter took a whole week before he ventured out of the spare bedroom; Diva was out in a day before she settled in. Kittle, on the other hand, settled right into my life and never looked back.

You are so positive about your new life. I wish I could be about mine.

I had this money to change to a Chap 7 bankruptcy ... I used some of it to pay rent this week and figured when I got paid today, I would pay the lawyer the $1500 fee to go Chap. 7 and still have enough to pay bills and get groceries. Well, seems my garnishment is still going on when it should have stopped. I had overtime on my paycheck and it didn't show up ... ticked me off that this was supposed to stop.

Anyway, I talked to the paralegal at the lawyer's office and she said she would talk to the data processor in charge of the garnishment and I'd get the money back.

Off today ... got grocery shopping to do, bills to pay, laundry, etc. Then I have two days of work, then four days off next week ...yippee! Not much planned for next week ... I have a hair appointment and a dentist appointment on Tuesday.

Oh ... update on my mom's hearing ... she has finally admitted she has problems hearing and made an appointment with her doctor. He cleaned out her ears (she had a lot of wax build-up in one ear) but also made an appointment for a hearing test and suggested she get the TV ears. We've been telling her for 10 years she couldn't hear, but she didn't listen to us.

Anyway, that's all from me. Carolyn, if you need an afghan to make, I'd love one ... my mom made me two afghans years ago (well, one for me, one for my sister, but Rosemary didn't like hers so I got both) and I use them constantly ... love 'em! Wish I could crochet/knit ... except I think Juliette would think the yarn was a toy.

Have a good day.

Afternoon, Margo...and my slightly OFF friends....

Gorgeous day today and I'm sitting here in jammies hurling... how fun is that?

I am going to open the blinds, however, and see if I can still enjoy the sunshine. It's supposed to be 67 today.  I may try to go out a little later.

You know when I can't drink my Starbucks that I'm sick.  Tried a spoonful of oatmeal at $4... nope... tried a spoonful of cottage cheese at work....nope... tummy in knots..so headed home... RALPH and I talked for awhile and the knot has gone away... afraid to feed Seymour for fear he'll have a nasty reaction... however, I AM making my grandmother's comfort food. Potato noodle soup..sans the noodles.. I don't have any... just don't think I can muster anything heavy.

Going to Jodie's for dinner on Sunday.  I'm really looking forward to it.  On the 15th I think she has planned High Tea for the two of us to start making some memories...:)  It will be at the Adolphus Hotel. Oldest hotel in Dallas.... and I've got pictures of my mother having High Tea there with her friends before she married my daddy.  Can't do the hat, though.

Okay.  I'm up... I'm down... I'm up... and about to be down... see you all later..

Hugs to those that need'em but don't get too close.

Good afternoon Margo and OFF gang
Not much to chime in about...just thankfully it's Friday and I only have 3 more hours of work.  Weekend is up in the air due to DH still recovering from eye injury and knee replacement surgery.  Hopefully, we'll get out of the house, head up to our 5th wheel in the foothills and get above the 'low' clouds (fog to most people LOL) to see some sunshine.  It won't be much warmer, either place, if we hit 50F we'll be lucky :-(   Of course, don't mention any of this come June or July when we're suffering 100+ deg weather LOL

Hope all have a wonderful weekend...just be sure to do something special for YOU!
