Yippee and horray to all of you who participated in the 5dpt!!!  Even if you weren't `100% successful, you tried you best and at the very least, you were mindfull of what you were eating and why.  That's a victory in my book!

Good mornin' Capt'n and mateys!!

Well, as this is our last day of sailing, I've decided to take half the day doing what I did the first day only better, and leave the last half to the third day.

Guess I was so anxious to get home from the cruise that I was awake all night.

I did have a great time cruising with you all.  Isn't it nice to know you can take a cruise with so many friends?

I did get on the scale this morning.. now understand.. I had NO liquids yesterday because I just couldn't... but I tipped the scale at 155.5 this morning.. I'll take it in any form I can get it.  The highest I saw was 161.something. For a brief moment I saw 162 but I grabbed the toilet paper and went to the 'head'.

Long day... will meet you all at the dock.  If we sailed out of Galveston, let's just all meet at the Sunflower Cafe for crabcakes and eggs...:)  But first a stop at Terry T's Starbucks.  We can see it when we get off the boat.

Good morning, Captain and deck swabbers!

I made it..lost about 7.5 pounds...water likely but Im not proud, I will take anything! The best part is that I FEEL physically better and I also feel rather proud of myself for managing to get through it all...whew! That carrot almost killed me.  Usually, I'd say "well I blew it now so I might as well start over on Monday instead"...but, instead, I dragged my butt along and stayed on track. Funny how the psychological part works.  I should do the 5-day more often! If nothing else, it gets me back into the correct mindset.

I'm drinking my hot chocolate protein drink and have taken my pills already, ignoring Derek's grilled cheese sandwiches that he is cooking.  I have alot of work to do today...writing which I do not necessarily enjoy...but once I get STARTED, it will flow.

So congrats to all of us! WE did it and survived! Thank you SO much, Susan, for your guidance and support!

Well, I wasn't 100% perfect but I am not that kind of gal. :-) So I feel very successful in not quiting and sticking to it the best I could. And I lost 6 lbs, which is all of my Christmas vacation and a little bit more! I still have today which I know will be pretty good. Have my lunch all packed and all ready to stay away from office food and leftovers from the kitchen that the cooks leave for us in the break room.

Thanks, again Susan and all me mateys!

Heading to the airport in about 15 minutes, flying south for 4 days of warmer weather hopefully! I'm 3 lbs lighter. Cheryl, I too am far from perfect. . . . but I definitely can feel the fullness of my pouch better than I could on Sunday. Will try to behave myself for the most part the next few days sharing meals with Jan S and visiting with Peg in Red. Usually when I have friends to catch up with, new places to see, and a BEACH close by I get lots of exercise and don't think about what I should or shouldn't eat so much. Hopefully that will be the case the next few days. Not taking my laptop or GPS (using Jan for both!) but I'll check in from San Juan Capistrano! Susan, thanks ago for helping us sail this week. And Janet I think an OFF cruise from Galveston is a great idea. You could still be the cruise director, but much of the other planning would be taken care of.  Teri T how many can you squeeze into your place for a pre-function????

Karen,

Carnival has a 7 day cruise going to Montego Bay, Grand Caymans, and Cozumel leaving January 23 and it's $379+.

I'm sure thinking... thinking... thinking...

Leaves out of Galveston.  Planes into Houston Hobby.

We could grab Terry and do Galveston!!

Poop!  My foot surgery is Jan 20.  Red, you'll have to sail without me this time.

Now who is Thelma without Louise...??????

Wah!  I need a vacation from my permanent vacation...

Trust me, Louise...

There will be no other 'Thelma and Louise'.  We are a couple, yanno.

Doubt I'll go because I'd have to pay double.  And I was sorta hoping that the singles cruise would happen on the 23rd, but so far no one has backed out.  It was still a lot higher than $379.

There isn't anything to do in Montego Bay anyway but the beach and Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville.  The shopping is scary.  That's where I bought my ring.  The only thing I'd do in the Cayman's is take the $2.50 taxi to the beach.  Other than downtown to look at the banks, it's pretty dead.  I did find out not to take the boat excursions there... the Americans living down there stand on the dock area with signs and will give you the same tour for less than half.

And Cozumel? Well, I doubt unless it was margaritatime, I'd even get off the boat.. see?  Pretty boring without Louise.

***WARNING! Karen C here!! I'm checked in to my hotmail acct but evidently I am "Jan S" on this computer for OH. Don't remember my log in. .  . A JA 2011 cruise would probably grant me a quick divorce! I can get away with quite a lot but that one would be stretching it!. Hope it works out for you. I'm at Jan's having a great time so far.

Ahoy there

Here it is day five.  I made it.  Yesterday I did not have any cravings.  The only time the kitchen called was when I was truly huungry.  I went out to eat last night and ordered a hamburger without the bun.  I ate the patty and the lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion.  I wasn't tempted by the others' FF and onion rings.  This place also has the biggest bestest baked taters I have eaten.
Had a little nostolgia but not real cravings.  I am thinking I should do this two or three times a year.  I lost 7 pounds.  Another 15 will get rid of my regain.  Then I can focus on reaching my original goal.  But even if I don't reach that goal I will be at a weight that is comfortable for me.  Where I can do what I want and have real choices about the clothes I buy, not to mention the additional health benefits.  I feel good.  Not high energy, all over the place good, just good.  My head seems to be on right and I think I can make good choices for the forseeable future.

Thank you Susan for getting us back on the boat.  Good luck with your plastics.  I am so jealous but happy for you.  My DH is mega afraid of my having any surgery due to my DVT.  Maybe one day,
