Tuesday musings....

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

It's cold here too ... relatively speaking (39 degrees ... and gloomy) but by Thursday, it's supposed to be up to 74 degrees. Crazy, huh? My body doesn't know what to think. I guess this is what winter is like in NE Louisiana.

Not much going on here. Did a little post-Christmas sale shopping yesterday, bought some cards at 50 percent off ... wanted to get a wreath holder but they were all out at Target and my knee was hurting too much to look at Home Depot and Lowe's. I had planned to do other shopping but pooped out. And I was hungry. Had a $5 coupon for IHOP so I went there to eat ... ended up having these yummy whole grain and nut blueberry pancakes and scrambled egg beaters ... wow, they were good ... less than 500 calories and full of protein. I couldn't eat it all. Paid $2.82 for them. Then I had to go to Office Depot to fax papers to my realtor and buy a new headset for my phone (Juliette chewed through the cord). By then, I was shopped out ... knee hurt so much. Came home and started laundry and iced the knee and back. It feels better today, but then we're supposed to get rain today ... probably why my body hurts.

So now I have to go out to the store today  ... I made turkey wings (but they look like mystery meat and not wings ... taste good, though) and was going to have stovetop stuffing too but didn't have enough butter for it, so I have to go out and buy some. Silly me. Plus I have to pick up a package at the post office. So I have to get dressed and get going.

Monica, congrats on 55 days ... I know it's hard but it's quite an accomplishment. Kicking any addiction is. Good for you!

My first musing post.  Christmas is over and I finally got my dad, 88 yrs of age with alzheimers to open his Christmas presents.  Temp here this morning was 3 degrees and we have about 16 inches of snow, not all new snow been piling up since Christmas Eve.  Suppose to be in the 50's by the end of the week and I certainly hope it takes all the white fluff away.  I hate to be negative  but I do not like snow as I get older anyway.

No one has been to our house since Christmas day, weather has been to bad.  I was suppose to get respite care today for my dad but I canceled it because the lady couldn't have gotten in my driveway.

Life is good, now just waiting on my surgery and praying it doesn't decide to snow at that time.  I have to travel 4 hours for the RNY.

I don't know names yet, but I do believe I recall the first poster to be Nancy.  I am sorry to hear about your nephew, I lost a cousin on July 4th at the age of 45 and that is just too early to be taken home but God knows the reason and if it is meant for us to understand He will show us why, but more than likely we will never know.  You are in my prayers, not only for the death of your nephew but for your legs and feet as well.

Hope everyone had a good day, I am fixing to jump in bed.
