Good morning Grammylew and everyone.....

I slept in until 8:30 this morning....I was so tired after all that traveling.  After being away from home for 10 days...my home looked good and my bed felt great!!

I unpacked everything and put my luggage away. Everything looks back to normal now.

I made it back home at about 4:30 PM yesterday afternoon. I had a wonderful time. One of the nicest Christmas' can remember!!

Now I need to catch up on my work load. I am behind for sure!!!

Have a wonderful day....prayers for all.

Making "Mind Memories" to carry with us always. To me that's what it's all about. Pictures are nice but those times that we share with loved ones don't have to be a real picture. Our minds keep them pretty well. I still have such vivid memories of my parents and of holidays past. Glad this was a good one for all and that you are back home safe and sound.

Good morning everyone

We had a power outage last night also but I slept through it.  Guess I had enough blankets to not notice the cold..

I am afraid to check the weather.  I haven't stuck my nose out yet.  Hoping it is not too bad.  We promised the boys they could ride their motorcycles outside today.  They tried to ride them in my tiny garage apartment last night,  Two feet this way.....two feet that way....after awhile they settled down and we played a memory game on my laptop.  Hate to say it but they did so much better than I did.  I know every grandmother thinks her kid is the smartest but they blow me away.  Kids today are born with electronics in their hands.  My 3 yr old is playing Mario on a gameboy.  I can't figure those things out.  sheeh!!

Well stay warm and safe.  Enjoy your day

Hi Carolyn and my OFF family:

It's chilly but sunny here (38 degrees) ... I'm off today for my one day off, but have some errands to run, then a whole pile of laundry to do. Not much else going on. The phone woke me up ... just CVS reminding me of my prescription. Made coffee, grabbed some protein, made a couple of phone calls (one to my clinic ... my potassium was low, but that's partly because they didn't write the prescription right ... they only gave me 30 pills instead of 60 for two a day ... it's right now).

My Bears won and are looking great now. Offensively, they look at the top of their game (sorry Jets fans). Defensively, they didn't play quite as well at times but did when it counted at the end. Work was slow ... only four pages for two newspapers ... not much to do and I was out of there early.

No snow here, and I don't miss it at all.

Well, that's all from me. Have a good day.

We spent Christmas day with the M&M's. Matthew was up in the night with the tummy bug and Mary looked green around the gills. I suggested skipping dinner but she wouldn't hear of it.

I sat in front of the fireplace and took toys out of boxes. The packaging is so complicated. No just pulling things out of a box, it takes muscles, scissors, screwdrivers and a few cuss words.

Tom and Melanie had a shoot out with a Nerf gun. Tom did the shooting, Melanie held up her shield and was giggling at such antics. Imagine Papa Tom shooting her as she attempted to dodge the Nerf darts. The house rule: No shooting at people. Oopsie - he never did follow rules very well. Melanie was delighted.

Next week Tom sees the sleep doctor and Vascular guy too. Hurry up and wait. His BP is coming down a teensy bit as the Atenelol is decreased.

Love and kisses to all

Hi Old friends and New,

I am enjoying my vacation and have the rest of the week off. We have a fire going in the wood stove and Tom is in the "Library" next to the living room where I am sitting. Dogs are on the couch with me, I have my laptop, a Starbucks  latte and all is right with my world here at home.

Tom is working on his dissertation and hopes to be ready to defend it in July. He is finished with all of his classes. He has been applying for jobs at universities and colleges but no luck yet.

We have been having a tough time with my parents and so family stuff is not so hot right now.

I am struggling with regain still and am looking forward to the "clean slate" Karen mentioned.

Karen, I am so sorry your poor family got so sick...that is awful. I remember once when I was a single mom going to college, Collin and I both got a horrible flu at Thanksgiving with temps over 103. It was dark and lonely in my little apt with no Thanksgiving and both of us so sick. I think he was about two. Scary also. Hope you don't get as sick as the rest of your family. I am thinking of you.

Judy, what a nice nice wonderful Christmas for you and yours.

Annette, I am keeping you and Tom in my prayers.

Bev, I think about you often and you are also in my prayers.

Take Care,
Cheryl

Thankyou Cheryl!! I am glad that I contacted my son and he accepted being friends on facebook and we started talking again! What a happy surprise for my mom and the rest of my family to see us together once again!!!

Good luck to your hubby finding a job! Also with your family...its not easy dealing with it. I wish you the best!!

As for the regain...I had some and my pain dr wanted me to get some of it off and he put me on Topamax 50 mg at night. It works! The weight is coming off slow but sure! Might look into it to help you out.
