OMG Carla,
What a week you have had!   Sure hope you have a wonderful weekend and a great visit with Monica.   Hearing about your awful migrane makes me realize that I haven't had a bad headache in years & years.  When I was in my 20's, I had some doozies, but no longer, so I sure have been lucky.

I'be had busy days getting ready for Christmas Holiday and being with Mom every day.   I finally found a big activity book (crossword puzzles, mazes, word searches & brain games) that does not say it's for any specific age (like "Ages 5-7") and is just right for her capabilities.  Every day we go for a walk (she needs assistance) and then we do a couple of pages together in the activity book.   She seems to enjoy it & so do I.

Tomorrow, I will take the commuter train into Los Angeles with a friend to see the LA Philharmonic at the Disney Concert Hall.  What a treat!    It should be a great concert & I will enjoy the time with my friend.

Wishing everyone a joyous day!

good morning Carla..and Jan.

Wow and I thought I got up early..??
Carla..I used to get migraines..still do sometimes..so I can sympathize.  Hope you are feeling better soon.
Just 4 more days of school and then I can have a short but much needed break.  Its cold here and today I have a sinus headache..so I wish I could sleep in, but, my students await.
Will be spending the weekend cooking, cleaning and wrapping presents.  I haven't even started yet.
SO HUGS, prayers and blessings to all...have a great week end and STAY WARM !!!

Good morning Carla and everyone else.  I am up to let out the dogs and then back to bed for me!
Well, I turned 60 on Monday and actually enjoyed myself.  There was a huge snow storm here and dinner with my family was cancelled.  More than 300 vehicles were stopped on a highway due to blizzard-like conditions and helicopters and snowmobiles were sent in to get them.  A former security guard at my work was caught in the storm and died after his car got stuck in a ditch.   Apparently, he decided that getting to work was important enough to leave his car and walk the short distance.  They found his body the next day in a field not far from his car.  What a tragedy for his family.  We're all reminded at work of how our lives can turn on a dime - I'm feeling very blessed to turn 60!
I still ended up going out with a friend for dinner and  having a good time.  I signed up to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and may be selling Christmas trees on the weekend for them in an effort to raise some money.  It never fails that when I make an attempt to help others that I get over myself.
I'm close to finishing marking for this semester and will have next week to prepare for the next onslaught of students in January.  I'll have a week between Christmas and the new year to relax and then another week at work to get ready before the teaching starts.  Can't wait for the down time!
The dogs are back in and have gone back to bed and that's where I will be in a minute or two.
Everyone have a great day!

glad that you got to celebrate your birthday with dinner!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margaret,

Sorry to read about the sad event for the family of that security guard. . .

Your attitude about helping others to get out of ourselves is sooooo darned right on and that is a good part of the AA philosophy. . .

Have a great day, which is largely about choice!

good morning!
carla i am sorry to read aboutyour headache- do you have any clue what triggers yours? do you eat anything with MSG in it? that used to be killer for me-

i have been so busy trying to catch myself up with various lil projects that i still haven't wrapped one durned thing for my grands and i really need to get them shipped out!

yesterday; i registered for college!!!! orientation is jan 6th and classes will start the 10th---as little as i made last year and this year; i made too much for any aid other than loans-poo---so i am not sure about paying for books but i will get by! i think i'll probly apprecaite it a whole lot more this way! starting out with two classes- actually three cuz two will only be 5 weeks so i'll be taking one 10 week and one 5 week at a time....i passed the math test at college level--whoo hoo--i was truly not sure and afraid that i'd have to do the basic math--- i did sign up for a keyboarding class tho....

so this morning, i open fb and there is a message from a woman in wisc whom i've never met-she met michael and wants to help him but feels that he won't "let" anyone- she got a strange email from him and suggests i chrck on him. i wrote back politely that i can't help him. folks,,,i am staying strong and i feel like a true ***** however it's all about me now....gosh that sounds horrid......if you know me you know how this tears me up and you know that i know i did right. if you don't know me and are passing judgement - well- hey---too bad.

ok gotta change the subject!!!!! today is jeans day -yea! from being off 3 days, it will feel strange to be back to work!

sending hugs and prayers to you all.....and counting along with monica!!!! carla give her a huge squeezey hug for me!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Oh Margo,

I am here jumping for joy at the living you are doing as part of your healing process.  You know that you are not selfish, you are just reprogramming from having put yourself on the bottom of your list for so long.

Love and miss you, Laureen
