Margo, congrats on the math test ... probably better than I would have done. I was never good at math ... probably right/left brain (can't remember which is better at math, but I'm opposite).

As for Michael, you know you can't help him. You are not a *****

Margo - you are my hero!  There's just no stopping you.  And good for you for passing the college-level math test.  The economy has been so bad that I'm sure you'll find lots of other 'mature' folks in the classes.  I know that my courses have more and more "second career" students who have come back because their jobs were phased out or shipped out.  I love having mature students  -   they are always so thirsty for knowledge that they always sit very close to the front and seem to hang on every word that I say!  (and not all of my words are bon mots if you know what I mean!)  They make up for the students who are at the back of the room sleeping or texting!
You've had a rough time of it and I know that you deserve every little bit of happiness that you find.  And it is about you, and it's about time!
I don't think that anyone here will pass judgment on you.
Hugs
Margaret

Morning Carla and fellow OFFers. So sad to have a horrid migraine like you did. Hope you feeling better. Will contact you about Monday. Excited to meet you and spend time together.
Much warmer here this morning. Very cold where my kids live though. Got to visit on the phone with Gkids and our oldest daughter last night. She is one of the final two candidates for a Veteran Rep job at a nearby college. She is so excited about this and really wants it. When she was in college she worked for the local town Vet Rep and got so much help from her colleges Vet Rep. Keeping fingers, toes crossed, positive vibes and prayers going for her.
Sober 44 days today. Didn't go anywhere yesterday, just went to the pool. I can feel the sun this morning. We walked to the pool and I did very well.
So today we HAVE to go out. Not OCDing too badly....yet. Wish me help. Hope all have a good day, staying warm, and happy. Hope Eileen isn't too sick, she needs good days while visiting near Chicago. Connie too needs a really good stretch of days.
Hugs, Monica

Good mornin', ya'll.
Another very chilly night. It will warm up a little this week.
I spoke to my Sis yesterday and she sounded so good. Her son and his family are flying up for 4 days. ( from Atlanta to Albany).
Our daughter and her family are going to the BCS game next month. They had their airfare way before it was certain the Ducks would be going. Through the corp she works for she was comped a room in a 5 star resort with all meals included. Luckily the kids exams aren't until the week they get back.
I have finished all the sewing I'm gonna do this year. I have a crochet baby sweater I work on while watching TV, but that's all of that til next year. When my DIL started her kitchen, I told her I would organize and bind her scattered recipes. You know, someone at work would give her a good one, or she would cut one out of a magazine, they were all stuffed in a drawer. So today I will make good on that promise
It has been a slow, relaxing week!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning Carla, migraines are a pain, take time to smell the roses girlfriend!

Happy Friday OFF family, here at work early getting things organized before my volunteers start popping in to say hi. I'm going to a volunteer get together put on by one of my fab volunteers at her house at 10am, I won't stay long just want to stay engaged to my peeps!

This will be a busy weekend with parties and church. Seems like it's run, run and run some more. But I will take time for me and enjoy all the company!

Really Winter has just started, we don't have that much snow but man is it cold outside. Guess I'll have to buy me some long-johns!

Everyone have a great weekend! Hugs Debbie

Oh OT I know, but we play alot of cribbage together. Last night hubby got a 23 point hand. He had a 4, (2) 5, and a 6 and the turn card was a 5. He or I have never had such a high count hand. Needless to say he won that round of cribbage. We are both tied for this round of 10 games. Just had to share. Monica

Good Morning Carla!
Nice to see you back! Those migraines are the worst- I used to have them about once a month- somehow they were related to my periods. Since menopause (gotta love it!) I haven't had any that I can remember.  There are quite a few good things about getting older.
Today is my last day at work for a while. We have company coming tomorrow- a house full. My husband took yesterday and today off so he is preparing the house and some food. I have more than I care to think about to prepare for Saturday... oh well... it's THAT time of year. This is my husband's family, then my family gathering is the day after Christmas so I'll have almost a week to just relax.
Our oldest cat is almost 18 I think... she is changing her habits which makes me wonder if she is getting close to the end or maybe a bit of dementia. She's still eating and pooping in the box, but sleeping in different places. She used to be so predictable. She is very old- you sure can't fix that.
It's off to the races for me.... see you soon!

Carla,

Migraines can be sooooo debilitating, my Mom used to disappear into a dark room, sometimes for a whole day and my oldest daughter suffers from them too.  I have ocular migraines, which are shorter in duration, but affect the eyes and frontal portion of the head.  I know mine are directly linked to stress, as most times when I am under a lot of it, that is when I get them, but I do know that things such as MSG and other preservatives found in food can cause them, so I hope you don't get another one anytime soon. . .

Sheesh, amazing what a little snow can do, my travels home last night were very scary, so many accidents on Interstate 95, what is normally a 50 minute commute, took me almost 3 hours, when will people ever learn that just because you think you are a great driver, does not mean that mother nature does not have the upper hand and that man made vehicles are subject to anything that could go wrong. . . oh well, did not see anything that looked like people really got hurt and that I hope is more the case than not.

When I finally arrived home, I was thoroughly exhausted and was in bed by 8:15, thought I could watch some television, but after spending snuggle time with Roxie, I shut the television and that was at 8:36, so other than potty breaks during the night, I slept like a rock, straight through until my alarm woke me up at 5:20 this morning. . . drive in was uneventful and so the day begins.

I have a busy weekend, which involves wrapping the myraid of gifts for my grandchildren, hanging out with special friends and Sunday, I am meeting with a couple of g/f's from work in Princeton and hoping to see Tony and his new car that he is picking up tomorrow, he bought a new Sonata the limited edition with turbo engine, can't wait to see it and smell that new car smell and so it goes, what else is new, I am actually looking forward to NYE weekend, just so I can have some much needed relaxing, do as little as I want time, which is long overdue.

Wishing you all a very good Friday and peace and strength to those in need.

Hugs, Laureen
