Thursday What's New With You?

Hi Judy and my OFF family:

I'm still at my mom's and brother's in Illinois. It's cloudy and cold but at least I feel a little better than I did yesterday. I was fine until I got back from our outing yesterday afternoon. My brother and I went shopping and out for lunch. We went to Steak and Shake, which was fine. I had a burger, a few fries, some baked beans and, oh, of course, a shake. I had half the shake at lunch, then took the rest with me for later in the car because I knew I was full and trying to drink the whole thing would make me sick.

So we tried to go to this one Kohl's at Harlem-Irving Plaza ... the place was a zoo and we couldn't find a parking place, not even a handicapped spot. So Gary decided to drive out to another Kohl's in Elmhurst, a different suburb, a little ways away, about a 20-minute drive. Traffic wasn't horrible, fortunately, but in the Chicago area sprawl, it's not great, either ... lots of trucks, stop lights, etc. We got there and looked around for something for his grandson. Gary had $10 in Kohl's cash to spend and he didn't want to spend much more. I found a cute sleeper that said "Team Grandpa" on it. It was less than $10, so we looked around for something else. I was suggesting a little baseball rattle, but that would've put him too much over $10 ... finally he settled on a Christmas bib ... it was a reindeer, so his whole purchase was $12.62 and he paid $2.62.

Then we headed home and stopped at Walgreens so I could get shampoo, conditioner and unscented lotion (everything my mom has is so highly fragranced and I can't stand it). While at Walgreens, I started to get very hot. I thought maybe it was just a hot flash, or because we were in heavy coats walking in the hot store. When we got home, I took off my coat and stood outside on the porch for awhile. Then I started feeling dizzy. I got some ice water, thinking maybe I was dehydrated (I didn't have a whole lot of water that afternoon). Drank two cups of ice water, still hot, still dizzy. Got into my jammies, put an ice pack on my chest, took a vicodin because I was also in pain from walking. Finally, after about an hour, I felt a little better ... then I got the chills for the rest of the evening. I almost slept under three blankets with my heavy robe on!

Anyway, today I feel better. I almost wondered if I had an infection of some sorts, but the ther-mom-eter (you know, mom feels you forehead) said I didn't have a fever. I was having stabbing pains in my replacement knee too while we were in the car.

Gary made a nice casserole of chicken, veggies and brown rice, and I had some of that ... maybe the protein helped. Didn't eat all of it, like half the chicken breast, a small serving of rice and veggies. Drank lots of water last night, too.

Anyway, I talked with Brenda Russell this morning ... Connie, I told her to e-mail or PM you with her address, so you might be hearing from her the next time she's on line. We might get together Saturday ... I'm getting together with Paulette Porters (some of you may remember her ... she hasn't been on here for awhile) and her hubby on Saturday.

Judy, I hope your son is OK. I too have a crown that is bothering me but don't have the money (even with insurance) to get it taken care of ... and I have a tooth that needs a crown ... maybe in the new year.

Well, I've babbled on enough ... have a good day.

Hi Eileen...geezz maybe its the change in the water? Not sure what to tell you that is making you feel sick like that. Hope you feel better soon!!

My tooth is feeling a bit better but I am still taking the darvocet even though I am not supposed to...haven't made it to the pharmacy yet to pick up the tramadol. Just makes me angry to spend all that money and be in pain ya know?!

Anyhow have a good time while you are with your family!!!

Good morning, Judy and those to come.
Owwww! I hope you can get right in to the dentist to get that tooth fixed! I hope your son's tests come out OK.
Another cold jammie day. House keeper comes this morning. We usually try to find somewhere tp go while she is here. But it's just too cold out!
Our oldest grandson and his girlfriend are on Christmas break, so we've been seeing a lot of them this week. Mainly to eat! She's still very sad about having to put her dog down. Yesterday she asked if she could have one of the pet beds I make to bury her in. Of course!
Got Harry and David from our daughter yesterday. That stuff is so good! She sent a tower with a little of this and a little of that. We'll be sharing that with everyone, too.
Everyone have a fantabulous day. Stay safe and warm!

Thanks Grammylew!! Tooth feels a bit better but then I am taking a pain pill...hopefully it gets better by monday or I will call them back to fix it!!!

Haven't heard from my son yet on his tests. Hope he is ok.

Sad to hear about the dog being hurt and put down...especially at this time of year...that was nice to have one of your beds to lay her in. Please give them a hug for me and tell them how sorry I am for their loss.
