HI Margo and my OFF family:

No snow here, just sunshine, although it is cool (43 degrees). Doesn't seem like December much, but I'm not complaining about no snow. I have laundry going because I'm running out of socks and underwear and bras ... Patricia (Juliette's former mom) is coming over and we're going out to lunch. She's going to take care of Juliette when I'm gone next week. While I was on the phone with her, my hairdresser called, so I was making an appointment, and Juliette decided to climb up on top of the entertainment center and chew on the little Christmas trees up there, and play with the ornaments. Bad kitty! She's such a scamp! So I had to yell at her, then play the Hallmark stuff toy (she's scared of it), then she jumped down. I have a photo of her up there ... will post it later. She's so cute but she's such a devil.

I got some stuff out yesterday but not much. Still doing Christmas decorating. I spent a lot of time crying on the phone to Mary Kay (my friend and "therapist" because I can't afford to go to a shrink).

Well, I have to get into the shower. So I'm going to cut this short. Have a good day.

Hello Everyone!

It's almost 2 pm here, and at this point nobody seems to read or respond to this thread, but thought I'd just add a bit.

This morning I went to the local community hospital and finished the process of becoming a volunteer.  I'll work in the gift shop and at the "greeter's" desk.  They need volunteers, especially this time of year, and fewer and fewer are volunteering.  My personal opinion is that it's too hard to connect with the Volunteer Services Coordinator and people finally give up. I've been trying to get on their volunteer list for over three months.  I had three appointments with her to get processed and she no-showed for all of them.  I finally left a message for  her that since she wasn't interested in me volunteering, I'd quit bugging her.  She immediately called me back and everything was all set within 2 weeks.  I know she's only paid a pittance, but if she doesn't want the job she should give it up.  Hell, for 10 hours a week, I'd do it and enjoy the few bucks it provides!  It's only 2 miles from home.

I've run into the same problem with some of the other volunteering I've signed up for, but at least those coordinators are non-paid positions, so I'd expect that stuff.

Tomorrow is a busy day, all volunteer stuff.  9 am I go to the church to sort clothes for the thrift store, then at 11 to a Food Pantry meeting.  Then at 2:30 I'll orient for the Red Cross at the blood bank.  I have an electrician coming at about 5 to do a little bit of work.  Wednesday...nothing.  It would be nice to spread the stuff out a bit, but it never seems to happen.

This afternoon I'm wrapping Christmas gifts and trying to sort out the spare room.  It's deep in there.  Really, really deep.  Still snowing and blowing here.  I cancelled an appointment I had for tonight at 5:30.  If I don't have to drive in this stuff I won't.  Guess I'm getting old....

Everyone have a good day.

Hey Candy, Everyone Else Who May or May Not get to read this post. . .

Candy, sounds like you are keeping yourself busy with all that volunteer work and that sounds great!

You are not alone or last today. . .  I started the new position today and it has been an EXTREMELY busy day, so I had relatively no time for the computer until just before my lunch hour and now. . .

Nothing too much happening otherwise . . .  working until 6 p.m. this evening and then going home to watch the J E T S v. NE Patriots. . .  I am hoping for another victory for the J E T S!!!

Anyway, hope you all have a wonderful day, what's left of it. . .

Take care, Laureen

I'm glad to see that my post isn't the kiss of death to the thread, at least today.......

I'm wrapping Christmas gifts.  Not many to do.  Cash was a better option for my kids this year, as there are trips for both of them this month.  They already got their checks.  I enjoyed their surprised responses.

WISH I could get into the Christmas spirit.  Guess I'll fake it till I make it.  Sigh, I've done THAT before, unfortunately.....

TMI?????  Prolly....

Candy,

I think I've been the bottom slice of bread on the bologna sandwich the past 2 days. Barely have time to go to the bathroom and when I do it's with two 2 year olds commenting about Meemaw's big girl panties! (Candy, Kaanapaali Beach Hotel, Maui,5 day special under $500.00 and that is a car and air from Seattle. Winter special. Man is it tempting!!!)

Did get out for a bit today. Even went grocery shopping and picked out some floor tiles for Erin in order to get out of the house. The twins are in daycare and Briley is taking a nap. Think I'll take a short one too. Promised the twins we'd go "out for dinner" when I pick them up from daycare. Will give Erin and Josh a couple of hours with just Briley.

I head home tomorrow "full" of babies for a few weeks. Lots to do at home with an open house on Friday at 4pm!

It's actually warm and sunny here for a change. Mike says it's still below freezing at home.

 Have a good one everyone.

Karen C
