It's Saturday - What's new with you?

I will tell you what is new.  It is 6 AM in my world and no one has started the thread.  So here it is.


Got on the scale yesterday and found I lost 5 lbs in Vegas.  Lots of walking and no unhealthy snacks.

Christmas presents for all the adults are bought.  Just 6 grandkids to go.

Taking Mary to dinner at Red Lobster tonight.

Have a great day.  I know I will, because I choose to.

Way to go George!  You brought money back and left 5 lbs there. How many people can say that?

We haven't been to a Red Lobster in ages. Maybe we'll go soon, it does sound good. Last night we went to a Chinese restaurant in our area that serves Vietnamese Pho, a wonderfully flavorfull soup with lots of chicken, veggies and rice noodles. Of course, the bowl is bigger than my HEAD, so I'll be eating that for the next couple of days. Way to make the most of $4.95, right?

I just answered a PM from someone here in AR who is getting ready for surgery on Monday. She wanted to know if I knew a way to cleanse her system so her doctor won't know she ate "mostly tuna and crackers" a few times during her 2 week liquid diet. I told her not to ask me how to cheat. Not sure how she'll take my brutal honesty, but I don't care. If you're not dedicated to your new lifestyle, don't do it. AGGGGHHHHHH

Busy day at work, and then a busy day tomorrow. We're having the salon Christmas Brunch at 11:00, then the Charger/Raider's game is at 3:00. The kids are coming over and after the game Tess and I are going to start dismantaling Saint Bella. Can't wait to get it out of here. Now it's getting to be a thorn in my side and a big mess in my sun room. Still, it's kind of sad when you think of all the work and $$ that went into it.

Okay, off to see if anyone is eating. Someone must be

Who or what is Saint Bella please.

Saint Bella was an all natural bath and body company my daughter in law and I started a couple of years ago. It got bigger than we ever expected and just started taking over our lives. If we had been able to either go to part time in one of our regular jobs, or have  hired someone, we could have really taken it places. But.....such is life!

Morning all. Good for you George...glad you had a good time, came home with $$ and left the pounds there.

Had to go out again yesterday. Went to Walmart and then the VA. At the VA we were trying to get flu shots. Now my husband is 100% combat disabled, but he can't get care (me neither) at the local clinic because of new rules. He can get care at the hospital over 55 miles away.  We went to the local clinic on Thursday and spoke with a clerk who told us to come back on Friday so we did. He asked us if we wouldn't mind going for free shots at Walgreens......cause he really didn't want to download and register my hubby at that clinic only for him to get a flu shot. Needless to say we were shocked that he said this to us, that he didn't want to take the time or do his job. My hubby was and still is furious. We plan on writing letters to many people about this. All this comes after the major screw up at our local MA VA, where I worked for 7 years, and where he has been getting care since the 1990's, with the nurse and his medication refills. What is happening in our country? Promises made to those who fought for Freedom are NOT being kept.

I was very glad we made it home without incident as my hubby was so upset. I ate like a grazing cow last night, but am still sober day 31 and so thankful for that. Still OCDing like crazy, but working hard to let go.

Dont get me started on what is wrong with our country....there is lots , and dont get me wrong i love America as much as anyone, just hate the way things are going and the direction it is headed will be pure distaster ...sorry to say. ...
anyway just wanted to say so happy for you ....am praying for you for strength that i know you have....

monica i am quite disturbed by your tale of this guy not wanting to do his job,,,,,, and to add the insult to the injury is the fact that you worked for the VA-i remember those days before you retired- and i know it is extremely disturbing to know how john is being treated.......

 My son-in-law in the same boat - no health care and he is a VET.  What is wrong with this picture???? It infuriates me that this countries men and women put their lives, minds, and bodies in the line of fire only to come home to such disrespect for all they have done.....time to get off my soapbox.....

Monica, I can sympathize with you about the VA. My DH is 100% disabled from agent orange, long story. It took 20 years, a few surgerys, & hep c contracted from a blood transfusion for them to finally say ok. At least our VA clinic sounds better than yours.

Well today we are finally bottling my wine. Sure hope it comes out good.

Yesterday my DH was trimming one of our shihTzu's & cut his eyelid. Emergency vet visit, a stitch & $150.00 later he is ok. They had to knock him out to do this & he is still sleeping. Only wakes up to get a drink. Two months ago Our female shihTzu had eye surgery for a tear in her eye. Maqybe we should get health ins. for them.

Well I am hoping my grandkids make it home for Christmas.
My son hasn't hasn't seen them since the end of May. It's been too long. I miss them so much.

Good Morning:

I slept late 10am - not normal for me.  I've been feeling very tired this week, guess my body decided to take over on me and force the sleep and rest.  I had planned to be up normal time today to get at least 2 chapters of my reading done so I could make it to the Barix support meeting today.  Instead I will be reading and writing for Monday's class.  Gene is preaching tomorrow so I must be in church, no skipping church to do homework tomorrow.   There is a support meeting where I actually had my surgery scheduled for Tuesday evening so I'll pop into that meeting.

Gene is seeing clients today.  Saturday's for a systemic family therapist are busy, it is the only time the entire family is able to see him during school months.  Makes our weekends suck but he loves his profession and I love seeing him so into this.  It's been a long time since I've seen him so fired up about his profession.....

Last night my daughter called and asked me if I'd make baked ham for Christmas dinner and bring it to her house.  She is starting a new job on Monday and will be working the day after Christmas so she asked if I minded having the festivities at her house.  Is that a silly question or what, my house is a battle field with boxes and nothing in place preparing for renovations, I won't be responsible to clean up after all the cooking and people  - I'd be crazy not to agree to "just" bake the ham 

I'm going to coordinate with my oldest daughter to see what baking she will be doing so we dont' duplicate now that I've given her all my WLS recipes and she's experimenting now.
