Reflection on People Pleasing

Wow Laureen, , I 'm one of those people relating to being a People Pleaser.

Way back when I had a crew of people working under me, I would say , Thank You:, When you are finished with:, Let me show you how I would like this or that done:, Even Please would come out from time to time. 

That is just the way I speak. I had some people respond in the negative , they thought I was treating them like a small child. My answer was nope, just treating you the way I like to be treated, with respect.  

I used to think that if I was pleasant to others at work , they might reciprocate, turned out that wasn't always the case.

Being retired and able to be with the people I enjoy , for the most part, anyway. I  find that I'm still a people pleaser at heart. And , I enjoy helping, teaching, being there,loving & laughing with those around me. I have learned the hard way that not everyone is happy with the way I choose to live my life, and so be it.

At the age of 64 1/2, I'm happier with the person I'm growing up to be, it has taken a while, lots of bumps in the road. A few hard rap's  along the way. Finding the things that feel right to me. Making mistakes, hopefully learning from those mistakes. People pleasing doesn't have to be all bad.
