Happy Post Thanksgiving to everyone.  I am sitting in front of the fire, drinking coffee and waiting for my medication to take effect so that I can eat a bite of food.  I did really well over Thanksgiving.  Both of my children and their families came up.  I cooked a huge meal with both turkey and ham, and made from scratch five pies and a pumpkin roll.  While I was so sore that I could barely move, it was worth the pain.  We all sat around the fire and had our dessert, well, they had dessert and I ate fruit, and my children told some of the horror stories of thanksgivings when they were children.  They always like to tell the story about the turkey that was burned to a crisp and the cake that cracked in half.  But, they always throw in that mom always improvised and made every holiday perfect.  My granddaughter, who is three, cannot get over that I am her mom's mom.  She kept saying, how come you call nana mom?  It's too funny.

Today I am cleaning the house and when my son goes home, he has been here since Wedensday  night, I am going to grade papers and get my students' averages done so that all I have to do is put their final papers and final exams in and be done with it.  I hate the end of the semester work.  So, paper work all day today.  I may take a break in the afternoon and take a long walk.

Some good news:  my husband, who has chrones and has been on steroids for almost a year straight, has been off of them for a month and has not had one bout of pain or other digestive symptoms.  And, yesterday he put on a pair of pants and they almost fell right off of him, so he is finally beginning to lose the weight.  He gained 75 pounds in two years.  The doctor tried to get him to take diet pills, but dh said let me try first.  He is doing so good.

Well, thats all from my corner of the woods.  Hope you all have a good day.

It has been said that great minds think alike and this morning three of you decided to start the thread only minutes apart.  Must be cosmic.

I am taking a moment before I leave for church to say hello.  Nothing earth shattering happening here.  Just a cold snap.  Were in the 80's dropped below freezing a couple of nights ago and to 40 last night.  Still in the 60's during the day.  It is going to be a beautiful week with just one day of rain.

I won't bore you with my day to day life.  All is good.  See ya

Hi Pat and my OFF family:

Three threads ... my oh my! I'll say hi to y'all. I just got off Skype with my brother and mom. Haven't dug into the papers yet. It's windy and 62 but bright and sunny otherwise. I'm off so I can watch football today. I plan to get the Christmas stuff out and do some decorating. Which means I have to get the stuff off the coffee table. I must find a place to put everything ... don't know where that's going to be.

Well, that's all for me today ... I'm going to get some coffee and read the paper. Have a good day.

Hi, Pat: Oh, I posted a What's New thred and then saw Grammylew's -- but I missed seeing yours. My old eyes aren't as observant as they used to be!
