Morning Everyone!!! Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving!! I know I did!!! Ate til I was full..well almost full and put the plate aside and waited a bit and went back for more...lol boy was it ever GOOD!!! Rick is such a good cook!!! Might have to keep him!! ;-)

Weather here is 28* right now the sun is out and calling for snow later on! Yuck! Had some wind last night and when we got up this morning Rick had to go out and clean the yard of cans!!! OMG what a mess that was!!! He collects cans for recycling $    and had them in a trash bag outside and with the strong wind they blew all over!!

Not doing any Black Friday shopping...staying home and putting the tree up later on today. Still not sure if we will do the slim tree or the huge full tree. I am guessing the slim tree this year. Nice to have a couple different trees so its not the same every year...lol. We were going to use the table top white fiber optic tree but now that we are in the new apartment we want the big tree up.

Well time for another walk with Bandit and then something to eat and then the tree goes up I guess. Have a good day and know I am thinking of you all!!!

Hugs

George have a safe trip and enjoy.

I'm finally back online after our internet being out for the last 21/2 days.  I hate this internet carrier we now have.  The old company sold out new one takes over and now nothing but trouble.  So it looks like I will begin researching new internet carriers.

Yesterday was an amazing day.  In the morning we went to church from 6:30am to 1:00pm.  Our church runs a homeless ministry.  The second and fourth Saturdays of the month we open the church doors for the homeless in Center City to come in get washed up, have a hot meal, be treated like human beings with dignity and respect, then watch movies for the rest of the afternoon.

Yesterday since most other Ministries in the city have Turkey Dinners for the homeless our church decided to have Breakfast/Brunch.  We had some amazing Chef's and Sou Chefs arrive at our kitchen to prepare the food, then the rest of us took on the rolls of wait staff, hosts/hostesses, and had an amazing day with some amazing men/women/and children that are the faces of the homelesss in Philadelphia.

After church we headed up to Gene's sister's in Coatesville for dinner with the family.  After my little bowl of homemade Italian Wedding Soup I was full so no Turkey for me - in all honesty I love the soup so I was very satisfied.  Gene has a pretty bad cold so he didn't eat much of anything and instead went to the living room to nap until it was time to leave.

Today I'm hanging out at home - Gene is working.  I think I'll make that Sweet Potato Pie I have been wanting and some Pie Crust Cookies for Gene.  I also have to start packing and organizing the house and would like to get a jump on that today.  Hopefully I can find my ball of twine to start tying up all my books from school because I am not going out to any stores today no matter what might be needed.

Hope everyone has a great day.....

Hi George and my OFF family:

Have fun on your trip, George. I don't do Black Friday. I did it one year with my mom ... just a couple of stores (Mom doesn't like to stop anyway ... we went shopping so she could buy a Christmas gift for me) and it was a zoo at the one mall. She bought me Gloria Jean's coffee at the one mall and then we went to Walgreens and she bought me a watch. Most of the time she gives me money. Now, I just don't have any money. And in my family, we do a grab bag for the adults and just buy for the kids ... and that's just the two (now three) boys. So I have to buy for my sister this year ... I'm doing all gift cards because they're easier to pack. Oh, and I buy for my mom ... she'll also get a gift card unless I can find some SF candy of some kind down here that she can't get in Chicago ... something different. I also buy something for my brother Gary because we are so close. He bought me my ticket home for Christmas, which is the best gift of all.

I got to talk to my family yesterday afternoon on Skype, so that was fun ... well, a lot of them at least. My brother Gary, my sister-in-law Margaret, my mom, my two grandnephews Ben and Sam and my niece Andrea (the boys' mom). I love Skype. It's like being there when I can't be there. The boys are a little shy on camera, though. Also saw my older brother Ed, who is never one to talk a lot over the phone. Didn't talk to Rosemary, but that's not unusual.

Then  I went to the office potluck ... boy, was there a lot of food! They had a deepfried turkey, ham, sweet potato casserole, two pies, a cake, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, sausage and rice casserole, mac and cheese (which really was the best mac and cheese I've ever had), cinnamon apples (didn't get to those, I was too stuffed). I had a little of everything, didn't touch the pies or cake because I was too full and I wasn't too interested in either of the pies. If they had chocolate or pecan pie, now I would have had that! From what I understand, there's usually enough left to eat today, too.

Well, today was payday, I've paid some bills already so I have to get out and get my rent money. It's only 39 degrees this morning. The temp went way day over night. It was 80 yesterday. Yikes! The temps vary widely here.

Have a fruitful Black Friday and get all those good sales. See ya tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving.  I made everything I could do ahead on Wednesday and then still cooked all day until dinner was ready on Thursday.  My husband just shakes his head and says he can't understand how I can do all that cooking and then not get to eat hardly any of it, lol.  I enjoy cooking.  It's a stress reliever for me at times.  I don't eat sweets.  Don't want to know if I can tolerate it or not, just assume I can't and go on.  I find the most helpful thing I do to help keep on track is using a 4 inch diameter plate to eat on for all my meals.  Sometimes I get full before I get through half of what's there.  When people see my plate they laugh but hey, it works for me.  No black Friday shopping for me.  I have always been a last minute shopper.  This year I am making a lot of my gifts also.  I made a heart shaped rag rug for one of my sisters, a muffler with hand warmers for my friends son, and I'm working on a lapghan for another of my sisters right now.  I better get really busy or I won't be done in time, lol.  Ya'll have a good weekend.

Goos morning one and all, I've missed you!!!!

We're in the Green Bay airport waiting for our flight to Detroit then on home to Little Rock. This is the first time I've had a strong enough signal to post. I could read post, but couldn't connect to do any more.

We've had a great time here in BFE WI but will be glad to get home. I miss my kids and dog AND ready access to my lattes.....I'm going through withdrawals and I'm sure Bucks has felt the financial impact...lol!

Ok...emails to answer, just wanted you all to know I been missing you. Back posting the what are you eating thread on Sunday as my eating won't be anywhere CLOSE to normal before tomorrow. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Hi All,
I know that it's late... maybe no one will read this but that's OK. My husband and I are doing last minute cleaning for our gathering tomorrow. There will be six of us plus two labs. We're expecting rain, so we might have some mud with two crazy dogs. I found out today that one of my TOPS friends died last night. It was totally unexpected- an aneurysm. She went with us to the play last week and on Tuesday was talking about her many blessings in life. You just never know when it will be your time. I'm feeling sad. I will miss her.

Okay, how insane am I?  Three trips to the same mall today.

First trip got what we went for.  Easy.

Got up this afternoon and Sears had sent me an email on a luggage set on sale.  We don't have any real luggage SET.  So out to Sears.  Got home and there was a slice in the luggage.

Back to Sears to exchange.  We had gotten the last one of the one we bought, so they gave us another 10% off another purchase.  Found a 7 piece American Tourister set normally $249, on sale for $80, they gave it to us for $70.

Now finally back home.  It is 5PM and I am gonna get my PJs on so I am less tempted to leave my humble abode until 5AM.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
