It's Black Friday - What are you up to?

Hi you all.  This will be the last time I post for a week or so.  I am going to Vegas on Saturday.  Six days, five nights at Ex Caliber.  Going to see Donnie and Marie on Saturday night.  Their last show before their holiday break.

I am at work right now, leaving in 3 hours and 20 minutes.  From work, I am meeting Mary at the mall.  This will be the first time we have gone shopping on Black Friday in about 20 years. We are going to be going in two cars.  Mary will drive all over looking for a parking space, I know.  Me, I might just park across the street from the mall and walk.  Gonna walk in the mall any way.  As of right now, we may not even go into any of the big stores.  Mary wants to go to VS because she of their giveaway if you spend $60.  You buy two items there and you hit the $60.  Then we will go to Yankee Candle Factory.  I have a coupon for buy 2, get 2 free.  Oh, and she wants to buy a piece of luggage of some kind for her stuff.  Mine is already packed.  Otherwise, not much we really want to get.

When we get done there, we will go home, and I will go to sleep.  When I get up we will finish packing.  Then hit the hay early, as we have to be at the airport at 5:30AM.

Hope you all have a great day.  Happy shopping to all!

hi george-and all to come!
i have been awake off and on -more on--for the last 4.5 hours- guess i went to bed waaaay to early last nite--so tthe dogs and i have been watching some hallmark and i fed them...brody had to make an emergency trip outside--i just dunno about him ...

yesterday was dinner at mom's--my only charge was to bake a mincemeat pie-mom bought the stuff and i baked it; took it outta the oven, came back here to the computer for an hour and whoa---someone--hmmmmm- someone knocked it off the table onto the floor making it unrecognizable and inedible-i wanted to cry--mom was po'd that we would " break tradition" --not even sure what the tradition was- she's been holding onto a lot of tradition from her husband- i think she really misses him this year...

my brother did a pretty good job at getting the turkey on the table - his wife was a gracious hostess; the family friend who was there was high as a kite when i arrived so conversation was "ouchy"; my nephew was very helpful to his dad and my mom was exhausted....

well- i had a pretty rotten day-no one's fault but my own for not reaching out and making it better...that's why i went to bed so early.....i'm still not really feeling "me" with the constraints of living here....not sure i can explain this without sounding ungrateful so i won't attempt it.....

today is another day............i work til 5 and i think lasagna is for dinner tonite....

a few years' back; we spent thanksgiving at michael's brother and sis in laws...she makes an adventure out of black friday- it was a blast! yesterday; i actually had to explain to my nephew what the true meaning of black friday is...tho, in this economy, i doubt it even holds true now!

michael is not coping well and thinks that i am flaunting things on here--he must think i am truly cold.....i was very close wednesday to asking him to come home; however, i know that things won't be better for him here-the hatred that has developed between my mother and brother, watching his every move, the tiny size of the trailer...the gloom of winter.....he deserves better than to be alone yet i just cannot be his answer. well- enuff....

my mechanic is sposed to be working on my tranny this weekend....

we have a light dust of snow so far but are expecting horrid ice and stuff- the ice scares me...
george;you and mary will have a wonderful time-enjoy! and report back when you get home safely!

hugs and prayers

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

(((Margo))) the joys of a tall dog...LOL my younger brother has a husky and one night he had 5 steaks on the counter ready to put on the grill...he went out to light the grill came back in for the steaks and there were only 4 steaks...there was the dog licking his chops after he ate the raw steak!!! Bad dog!!! LOL

As for feeling sorry for Michael...its that time of year that you will have those feelings...do NOT back down unless you REALLY want him back again!!!! (((Margo)))

Good Morning George and all of OFF dom!
Happy day after Thanksgiving!  I got a lot accomplished yesterday in the packing mode.  More to do today of course!
Angus has been shaking his head a lot and scratching at one ear. Just did the clean out which he LOVES of course....looks sore!  Daphne saw the stuff come out and hightailed it out of the family room!
Dinner last night at parents was very nice.  My brother, his wife and their kids were there.  got to give them all a hug to last a few months anyway.
Not much else to report.  Just packing!
have a great day!

Had a nice day yesterday....son and DIL came about 11:30 and helped me get last minute items going....good thing because my hand was really painful....told them I definitely need an electric can opener for Christmas.  Dinner was delicious (even if I say so myself) I had a small glass of blueberry wine with my meal, they drank diet Dr. Pepper.  DIL's dressing was very good but a bit dry - I would have added more broth.  I sent a lot of food home with them.

Took a drive after they left -- Oh my gosh - both local K-Mart and Wal Mart were packed!!  Then it proceeded to rain hard for an hour or so....supposed to get snow today.  I'm staying inside.

My hand is so painful - looking forward to the cortisone shot on Tues.
Has anyone ever used massage therapy or chiropractor for carpal tunnel??

Good Luck in Vegas George -- hope you and Mary have a wonderful time.

Thinking of you Margo -- hang in there -- it's going to get better.
Debbie I don't envy you all that packing.  So nice to have you back posting Monica.

Pat...long time ago my dr told me to fill the sink up with ho****er and get a sponge and put my hand in it and squeeze it until the water turned cool. Helped the pain alot. Might try it and see if it helps you til you can get your shot.

Good mornin', ya'll.

George, Vegas baby!! What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.  Well that's all the Vegas sayings I know. You and Mary have a fantastic time.

Margo - I'm sorry your Thanksgiving was so stressful for you. Sometimes spending time with family isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Monica - I hope your husband's meds get there soon.

I baked all day on Tuesday. Used the excuse that I wanted to send some bar cookies home with my cousin's family on Thanksgiving. Wednesday, was Thanksgiving prep day. On my feet all day again. Thanksgiving was really quite relaxing. My son fries the turkey and basically everything else went into the oven or heated up on the stove, and mashed the taters of course. Plenty of time to visit with my cousin (actually second cousin) and her family and our son and his family.  We all stuffed ourselves, everyone napped on every available soft spot and then my house was cleaned and empty.

My DIL went through all my holiday books and chose the goodies we will prepare together next weekend. Oh happy day!! I have plenty of bar cookies packaged in air suck bags and in the freezer. So there isn't a lot for us to do together. I have a stand mixer and a hand mixer, so I guess we will each just pick a recipe and go for it.

The sun is shining and I have the windows open. Ahh the smells of fall.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!
