OT: Digital camera advice

So, looking for a new digital camera. My old Kodak Easyshare still works but it is big compared to the new ones. Don't need lots of bells and whistles just easy and good pics. Suggestions. Don't know if it worth the extra bucks to go to the 5x or more zoom. Rarely need that. Want want that will hold up and is small enough to stick in a pocket. Any favorite models or brands out there? Thanks.

i just got a Kodak 12mig and i love the pictures it takes has a big screen on the back to be able to see them better .....and wal mart has them all on sale right now.......

Karen....if you get a new one I would be glad to buy your old one from you. I don't have a camers at all. Maybe you plan on keeping it but I am just throwing this out there.

I got a fujifilm finepixs2500hd 18x optical zomm soom  from hsn I paid around 200.00  for it. carla

I also have a Cannon 1100 12 megapixel that is smaller that I had in Philly that is very nice and I paid around 129.00 for that one. Carla
