Does anyone have internet service without a land phone line? If so I'd like the info. Thanks!

I used to have internet via cable company and then switched to WIFI. There are various carriers and it is important to have good cell phone service or be in a place where a signal is strong.

My son is without a land line and wants to get internet service. Through his cable company Comcast it is pretty expensive. What are the names of some of the WIFI companies?

I had Verizon, one of my daughters has Sprint. You get a device that plugs into your computer. Works great as long as you have service in your area.

Yeah, I'm thinking about getting rid of mine, too.  Going to VOIP.

Thanks Judy. My son has just basic cable with Comcast and says they are really pricey for their internet service unless you have digital cable whatever that is. We'll keep looking for the best deal. We're signing them up for 6  months of internet for part of their Christmas gift. They both teach and have internet at school. They had it free for a year where they live from a "neighbor" who didn't have a password. Now they are "blocked out" and have to find a service they can afford. The nerve of those neighbors!! They are finding that wedding planning without internet is a real drag as the place they are having the wedding is about 60 miles from where they live. Trying to contact caterers, hotels for rooms, all of those things. . . Sure am glad that I am the mother of the groom this time around! Fun but not nearly as much responsibilty!

Might check and see if AT&T is available in their area. They MIGHT be more reasonable for internet. Good luck on the wedding plans!!!

I have an ATT connect card and as long as I have a good cell signal I can connect to the net.
It cost me $60.00 a month.  The divice was around $100.00 but the rebate covered it.  don't know what it is now.  All the cell companies have a similar service.
