Good morning Red and my OFF friends!

It's my Sunday but I'll be working until 6:30 tonight to get all my nail clients in before our trip to Wisconsin.  It's okay though, lots of nice clients and fun all day long. Who can ask for more than that? House is clean, laundry done, packing left to do this evening while we watch the Charger game. I hope they don't embarrass themselves on national TV again!

I'll be taking my iPad with me, but I don't know what the signal is like in BFE WI, so I may or may not be checking in. I sure hope you all have a wonderful day on Thursday, and know I'll be with you in my heart!

Hugs and love

Susan

Morning Janet, Susan and those to come!

So Red, not to be boastful, but my J E T S kicked ass yesterday, what an exciting game and I was there, though to be honest, I was not in the stadium itself when the fans went nuts and the J E T S did what they seem to do so well, pull a miracle, courtesy of Mark Sanchez connectiong with Holmes. . . At the 2 minute warning, my Tony, who is a season ticket holder and has sat through countless seasons of despair, could not sit through what we had witnessed in that last quarter, blowing a lead of 17 points. . . anyway, he grabbed my hand and we, along with lots of other discouraged fans began the walk out of the stadium, I was thinking, WHY, aren't they a team that pulls it out when it appears they won't, but Tony wanted to go and so we did, anyway, we got just outside of the staudium when the crowd inside was defeaningly screaming, the energy was incredible and we turned to watch on the screen, two more plays, the last of which made all of us in that parking area, scream J E T S and jets, jets, jets. . . someone upstairs must love the J E T S, because there is no other explanation for how they have pulled it off the past 3 games in particular, but I got to say MARK SANCHEZ is a real quaterback and with some defense improvement, we might actually make it all the way. We gotta hope here. ..

Oops, time for me to get ready for work. . .

Wishing you all a great day, peace and strength to carry one if it is less than a wonderful day you are experiencing.

Hugs, Laureen

Well, Laureen, our Cowgirls put their big girl panties on again yesterday.

Yeah, that was some game yesterday (the only one I got to watch ... we are considered in the Dallas market so the other game we would get to see would be the Cowgirls ... yech! and since the Saints were playing late, we only get one game). But this week I have Thanksgiving off and Sunday off for once.

Mark Sanchez is some QB and now he has some receivers ... get him a defense and a line, and you'll have a team.

Good mornin', ya'll.

My DH and I caught the last minute of that Jets game and WOW. I'd say we saw the best part.

Yesterday I tried Merangue Drops. Anyone try those? Basically merangue piped into little piles, baked low heat for 20 minutes, turn off oven but leave cookies in for another hour. They are very funky.  The tops crumble if you look at them, the bottoms are chewy. Another reason I like to do my own baking. I don't want to add any new item to my Christmas trays unless they have been tried and tested. 10 years ago I made a cookbook for my kids and grandkids with favorite recipes from me, Sis, my Mom and grandmothers and my DH's Mom. They are the ones that always get included. There is a reason they made the cookbook!! I'll mention this to my DIL while we are planning the trays for her to take to work.

Our weather is supposed to be in the 70's all week and dry. Hooray!! It's so nice to be able to fry the turkey without setting up an awning thingy. And the guys can gather round the outside table and BS while us girls put the finishing touches on the table and dinner.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving sharing with family and friends. Our daughter and her family always volunteer at a church dinner for the homeless. I admire all of you that do that.

Have a fantabulous day.

Hi Grammylew,

You are right, you certainly did see the best part of that game!!!

Just curious about the merangune drops, are they made with sugar or subsitute?  would you possibly be willing to share the recipe?

I think that giving everyone a cookbook of recipes is an excellent idea, as for instance, my greatgrandmother had lots of recipes that we no longer have because she is gone and my aunt who did know them, had cards that got lost when she sold their house and moved :(  then, too, with the advent of her dementia, she does not remember a lot of things now. . .  so sad, some of the recipes are lost for good now, some I will try to recreate from memories. . .

Take care, Laureen

Good morning Janet and everyone.....

Just popping in quickly to check on everyone....not many here yet I will have to check back later.

I got my granddaughter and friend back to Minneapolis yesterday...it was a grueling drive. We had an ice storm. I usually can make that round trip in 2 hours....it took 3.5 instead!!

Today is work and cleaning up after the two teenagers!  Not bad here....I just like things a certain way.

Wishing you all a really great day.

Prayers for those in need.

Love and hugs for all.....connie d

Good morning Janet and OFF family. Happy Monday! It's going to be a short work week for me. I do have to take Friday off either with vacation pay or without. Personally I would just like to work on Friday, but oh well.

My hubby's interview went well on Friday. They told him to watch for upcoming email for his second interview. The lady that did interview him sent him right up to the next guy for interviews. The waiting room was full with people searching for jobs. Say some prayers or swing chickens for my hubby!

Today is my last day with the Eating Coach classes. Kristi sends me her daily blogs for uplifting thoughts and snippets from other people's blogs. They help.

Thanksgiving...well we all know we can't stuff ourselves to the max b/c we would be in pain. But we can eat on a little plate, take a little of everything and not feel deprived...and that means not reaching for second helpings either. Yep, I can do that. I also can take a walk after eating and not lay down for a nap. Well anyway that is my goal! LOL

I'm doing spin class after work today. The water aerobics class is just so full and I hate not having my space. LOL...when I was 300 pounds I always had space, now sometimes I get "crowded" or have a feeling of claustrophobia. Yep, I like my space! Hugs Debbiejean
