Have a good weekend everyone!

Hi All

Well it has been another long week at work and I am so tired again.  I don't like this working fulltime!

I have been trying very hard to slow down my eating and i think it is finally starting to work. Sure does make life more pleasant.  Just need to really concentrate on what I am doing.

The weather here at the moment is a bit wet.  Very cloudy and grey day today.  I bet you are all thinking how cold it would be too, but it's not.  Still in shorts.  Not too humid though.  I don't know what the weather is going to be for the weekend but I am going for a swim anyways.

Hubby is playing golf on Sunday which means my friend and I get to play.  Haven't decided what we will do yet.

My sister who lives in New Zealand has become a grandmother again...No. 4 grandchild.  One of my closest friends has just become a grandmother for the 2nd time.  I am getting clucky again!!  Sometimes I feel like saying to my kids 'Where's my grandkids?'    I must be patient.  They are too young yet...but I'm not!!

New job is going well.  Just found out I am being moved in a couple of weeks for 2 weeks to what we call a 'police beat'.  This is like a shop front which has it's own police and they don't do the whole range of duties that a police station does.  It should be interesting and hopefully busy otherwise it might be boring.

Well everyone, I hope you all have a great weekend.  I will pop in again soon.

Hey Jules,

Nice hearing from you, I am with you on the fulltime work, but it helps pay the bills, so I guess I will keep doing it for the foreseeable future. . .

Just think when the grandchildren start arriving, you will be full of energy and have the ability to enjoy them fully!

Well, I got to get to work, so have a good weekend yourself.

Laureen

Good morning Jules, Laureen and all those to follow,

God, I've been awake since 3:00 so it's going to be a REALLY long day, working until 6:00. You know there will be lots of coffee involved...lol

We had a contractor come last week to look at some things around the house that need to be done. Shockingly, the estimate came back much lower than we thought, so I think we'll go for it. Knocking out windows to add a slider to a new patio area, building a pantry into the side of the kitchen( always wanted a pantry, I'm soooooooooooooo excited!), drop down stairs for the attic area over the garage with some flooring for storage. It will be so great to get rid of the storage garage we've been paying for for 5 years!

Went to the yarn store yesterday and, of course, spent too much money. Oh well, keeps my hands busy and not putting food into my mouth...lol

Okay, off to get ready for work. Might as well go in early and clean up a bit. Hope you all have a wonderful Friday and weekend!

Give it time, the grandkids will come.... We've 5 kids between us and 14 grandkids so far.... The youngest stepson doesn't have any yet and my son is talking marriage to a woman with 5 kids.... I'm not looking forward to having 20 grandkids... LOL

I'm taking this as the Friday What's New..

Grandkids are worth waiting for... hang in there.. in the meantime, play with someone else's.. they are cheaper.

Hold my family in your thoughts today.  Becky is back in Parkland.  Took her yesterday afternoon after work.  They are going to do some sort of procedure today. Think it might be a heart cath. Worries me.  Grandmother had that and had a stroke immediately following.  Just a scary time.. and moreso for her.  She's a precious but totally frustrating sister...(I say that with all love..)  I mean.. she's been our 'forever' child... no matter how bad, she always finds the good... enjoys every holiday and is our Christmas Ho.. with a shirt to prove it. HO HO HO.  Loves my kids probably more than I do..:)  And why not..she's been NOA for years.. Number One Aunt.. and Gabby to my grandchildren.. Great Aunt Becky..

Would love to expound on other things..but hugs to you if you need them..and if you don't mind, I'll keep one back for me today.. I need one, too.

Good mornin', ya'll.

Grandkids are the greatest thing!

Almost finished Little Red Riding Hood yesterday. The pattern says 1 pkg of bias tape. WRONG! So now I have to go get more, GRR!!  I wonder if the pkg size has changed? Like the 1/2 gallon of ice cream, the 3 pound can of coffee and the 5 pound bag of sugar!!

Our son left this morning for hunting in WV. DIL and 2 grandsons had work and school. At least one of them usually goes with him. Of course I'll woprry about him making that long drive alone.

Our DIL brought our son's laptop this AM . Their network won't let him get online and she wanted to know if it would work here. Well it does. Maybe she is using the wrong key.  I guess he could have taken it with him and used it in WV. I am on it now and it takes awhile to get used to a laptop again. I have been using my desk top or my i-Pad, and it takes awhile to adjust.  Like automatic caps after a period (iPad), touch screen (ipad again), and just the whole mouse thing on my desk top. This old lady is slow to change.

I better get moving. Han**** Fabrics doesn't open for awhile yet, so I'll watch some of my DVR shows.

Everyone have a fantabulous day!
