What's New, Tuesday
after i posted i found the pprwork that explains the process and i think you are probly right- first; i need to PAY to get fingerprinted- all the times i have BEEN fingerprinted for work don't count!
and if i am still legally married at the time of name change to birth name- michael has to AGREE to it--i think he would he knows it's important to me--
but i don't wanna be m****eski all of my life til i can afford the other change!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hmmmmm. I wonder why you have to do it twice? When my sister got divorced, she went back to her maiden name at the time of divorce. I wonder if it has to do with you being married more than once. My sister didn't want to have anything to do with the last name after the divorce, even tho it was her kids last name. Are you sure you can't do it at the time of divorce? Seems pretty weird that they'd make you wait a year only to cause more paperwork. Oh wait, and then there's probably another fee right???
If that's truly the case, I think I'd wait the year and only do it once.

jani--no---i want to change my name officially to the name that i was given at birth-- my adopted name is margo-my birth name is valerie i found this out 10 years ago....and i already HAVE the original birth certificate!!!!! .i wanted to do it at my last birthday ; but didn't know that it took so much nor about the waiting period or i might have done it while still in ohio-
it won't cost anything to go back to my first married name -or my maiden name which i detest....guess i left the "adopted" part out of my dilemma- sorry!
to change thru probate to valerie joyce P****** entails a $160 filing fee AND the fingerprinting fee......
no matter what i do- the change of soc sec card and drivers license etc etc is a pain as it is!

What a happy day for you, Julia! Such a difference in you from just a couple of months ago. You're sure to be welcomed back with opened arms as I'm sure everyone missed you terribly. AND you get to go back with Shellacked nails!! What color did you choose?
Yesterday was a busy day as usual for my Monday. Groceries and lots of errands. The woman who helped raise my dear Tess passed away Sunday. Think of the book The Help. She was a dear lady, who Tess says helped make her the person she is today. I so wish I would have been able to meet this woman as she did an amazing job taking care and shaping the life of my sweet DIL. I stopped by Fresh Market on a dead run from one errand to another yesterday to pick up some daisies for her. Took them to the store and it made her cry. Sure didn't want to do that, just wanted to give her a big hug and let her know we love her.
Okay, I'm off to get the loaf of beer bread in the oven and the minestrone into the crock pot. Love and hugs to all!

I just got a beer bread recipe from someone in a recipe exchange e-mail. It says to use 'self-rising' flour. I think that means the flour already has the salt & soda in it. Do you know how to make the bread if I don't use the self-rising flour? The recipe I have calls for 3C self rising flour, 1/3 cup sugar and a 12 oz beer. Sounds good n easy, but I don't have self rising flour. I would imagine I'd just need to add salt and soda, but how much???

Mine is 2 1/2 c self rising flour, 2 TBS sugar and the beer. I think 1/3 cup sugar is waaaay too much. I don't know how to make it without self rising flour.....sorry!
Pour beer into mixing bowl. Add sugar and flour, mix well and turn into a Pam sprayed loaf pan and bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 35 min (or so).

I was going to try Splenda. Have you tried that? What does it taste like anyway. It doesn't need to rise? just mix and bake? Is it dense? It sounded so easy I thought I'd try it but I don't know what to expect. Good with Chili? Do you buy self-rising flour for everything you bake? I usually just buy unbleached all purpose flour.

My friend always uses Splenda in hers. Yes, it's fairly dense. I don't do any other baking besides beer bread. I just go ahead and use it for thickening gravy, too, just because it's what I have. You can also but self rising flour in a one lb bag so you wouldn't have all that much hanging around.
TRY it, you'll like it!
