Happy Sunday Y'all!!!!!!
Good Afternoon;
Safe travels......
I woke up late today, had a major headache last night woke me up felt like my brain was exploding out of my skull. Took a couple tylenol and finally fell back to sleep as I felt the pain easing.
Yesterday's shopping excursion was pretty good, except for the black and brown skirt I was seeking. Decided to go to Bryn Mawr Thrift store, found 3 awesome suits, some shirts, a maroon skirt, and some nice cuddly warm sweaters. No black or brown skirt. Went to Neshamany mall, went to every story in there, didn't find a black skirt that I liked the style of, and no brown skirts to be found. I Did find some nice jewelry and picked up all the Christmas presents I need for work this year. So Christmas shopping is DONE - yeah.
When Gene got home last night he took me to the Joann's Fabrics on 2nd Street Pike. I love fabric stores so much....When we took my mixer to be fixed a couple weeks ago, the owner of the store had an industrial serger for sale. I told Gene that is what I want when I graduate from the MBA program so I can start designing and sewing all my own clothes again....
Not sure what today is going to bring. Too late to go to church. Gene is still writing his paper for a post graduate course. He's also received his teaching assignments for the spring semester. Two classes at one college and Academic Supervisor to the graduate students for another university. I'm reallly excited and happy that teaching is working out for him, he loves passing on knowledge to the next generation....
I've decided to bake today. I'm making protein pumpkin muffins and a batch of Raisin/Craisin oatmeal cookies.
Hope everyone has a great day....

Just got off the webcam and a video call with my brother and mom. My brother Gary just got a webcam so he can see his new grandson Alexander in Dallas. So he suggested (on Facebook) that I get one (I already had one on my laptop) and get on Skype. Skype downloaded fine, but he couldn't see me ... I could see him. So I had to figure out what was wrong. Skype said my DirectX wasn't working ... so I went to Microsoft's website, downloaded some updates and then looked for DirectX, downloaded that and voila! everything worked. So today, rather than make a regular phone call, we were able to see each other ... my mom liked that, too, even though she doesn't understand the technology. I could see Gary's cat, ZuZu, too, and his new bedroom set. Kinda cool.
I didn't do much of anything yesterday. After Comcast finally reconnected my phone (they never did come out, they did it remotely ... they screwed up the times), I went out to get some Chinese food for lunch, played around with the computer stuff, watched TV, watched "It's Complicated" on HBO and then went to bed early ... had a headache and was tired. About midnight, I got up and still had the headache, plus I was sweating ... so I got up and got an ice pack and read for awhile again until I got sleepy again. Woke up with a headache this morning, but it's gone now. Funny how well Imitrex (or the generic form) works.
Today, I have to go back to work for one day, then I have tomorrow off. These split days off are a ***** But it's a job.
Well, I get to watch the Bears today, so that's good ... hope they can beat the Vikings (sorry, Connie). Have a good day.
Carla, I see that you live in Bradenton. My sister moved there 2 years ago and I flew out to see her last January. It's a lovely area but unfortunately I spent most of my time in pain so didn't get to enjoy it much. I had been having alot of pain in my right side and intestine area and had a really bad attack the night I got there that sent me to the ER. The dr said it was stones in my bile duct and spent 2 hours in surgery trying to get them out. Couldn't even find the bile duct. He said it had done it many times with RNY patients but I lost complete confidence in him very quickly. Ended up flying back to Spokane, WA to my surgeon. He told me you can't get to it through the stomach after surgery!! After several more tests and 3 more months of pain they put me on Actigal since he felt it was fine sand like stones that were forming that didn't show up on MRI or anything else. Within a week I was pain free and as long as I keep taking the medicine I'm okay. Probably will have to be on it for life. Oh well, what's 2 more pills.
Anyway, today we walked up into the hills above the RV park for 2 miles and now I'm washing windows and doing some deep cleaning. We're going to bike for 6 miles or so this afternoon so will get my exercise in. I have 9 nights without eating at night under my belt now. What a difference that makes to my daily weight!! It's a daily struggle isn't it?
Everyone have a very good day. It's 75 right now and very lovely.

No he didn't and I had my gallbladder out a year after RNY. I guess I didn't make it clear that I didn't have a gallbladder with all the gallbladder like pain. The Actigal is working on the stones in the bile duct thank goodness. I'll try to go off of them when I go back to Spokane next Spring and see him but we're not counting on being off them. I'll take 2 more pills a day instead of pain anytime.
