OT: Need your prayers
Dear Off friends,
I have shared some of this with some of you and now that I know what I am facing I need your prayers.
Tues., Oct. 26 I had a CT scan that revealed I have metastasized cancer in my liver and the tips of both lungs. This Tuesday I had a colonoscopy that revealed I have colon cancer. This is most likely where the liver and lung cancer came from. Since there was no sign of this when I had my colonoscopy in 2008 they said it is agressive.
I still have more tests to confirm the scope of my cancer. They are trying to get my testing done quickly so that I can start treatment soon.
They say the best outcomes are with patients that remain positive. So with the help of anti-anxiety meds and sleeping pills, that is what I am trying to do.
I won't be dropping in to OH too often in the next couple of weeks but I will try to give the few of you I told an update to pass on to everyone else.

I really don't quite know what to say to you other than keep taking the anxiety pills and hold on tight to every support system you can find, including OFF. I know how scary this diagnosis can be.... I'm sure that your whole world is upside down. Receive all of the love and help that you are offered as gracefully as you can muster. I know that it is hard to accept help, but people that are offering really do want you to take their gifts of meals, cleaning, etc. Just say "thank you", "I love you!" or whatever and be loved in every way that you can. I will be here if you ever feel the need to talk. You just need to put one foot in front of the other for now. Let everything else go.

This is my second time fighting cancer. You are right that so many people want to help. I will definitely let them because this is going to be a harder fight than the first one. My sisters and brothers are already coming to my side and I am sure feeling the love.

Aloha Bev.......We haven't gotten to know each other but I have followed your story, and am so sorry to hear that you have such a challenge ahead.
I have two friends with colon cancer, and both of them are doing extremely well after treatments.....both out and about and one said he feels like his old self.
You are loved here, I can tell, and my hopes and prayers are with you, too. Please take each day hour by hour......they say worrying is wasted time. (easy to say ... not so easy to do)
